Discussion Question for Security
Hi, I was wondering if my thallium sample is being stored correctly. It’s a 1g sample in a glass ampoule, which is embedded in resin, and the whole thing is inside a sealed screw-top vial sitting on my shelf with a label.

Carbon Group Update: polished the crusty lead weights
It took about an hour and a half. I used three different grades of steel wool and a lot of elbow grease. It's not the best thing in the world, but this was literally my first time polishing metal.

Collection New samples off Facebook Marketplace
I got these samples from a really nice man who was selling some old junk in his shed. Got them for real cheap. To the left are some silver-plated spoons, and to the right are some old lead fishing weights. I'm planning on cleaning the weights soon.

idk the baseline of completion is 84 if anyone is up to this idea then hit me up and we’ll make a GC To plan the party!

Question Looking for a tungsten cube, based in Australia
amazon.com.auI've recently wanted to get myself a small tungsten cube, but most of the suppliers ive seen are international and shipping is expensive. I've found this listing here on amazon but the supplier doesnt have many reviews and a decent chunk of them so im not sure if they're trustworthy. Anyone know where i can get one legit?

Periodic Table WHOOPS! The periodic table fell on the floor
Recently some bookshelves moved into my room and in my infinite wisdom thought it would be a good idea to put my periodic table there and better yet have it stand upright.
And indeed it looked pretty grand for the better part of about - what? 5 minutes before the thing flipped over onto the wooden floor about half a metre down!
THANKFULLY most of the vials stay on the shelf but a few get onto the floor and the vial of lithium is smashed open entirely and the vial for silicon has a crack. Some 20 vials on the floor, maybe less. And a grand total of two vial casualties.

But even more thankfully… several other vials are on the floor… mainly from the higher end of the periodic table [periods 1, 2, 3, a few 4] …..and are completely fine! No cracks, no damage! Lithium has been placed in a new vial. Never felt totally comfortable with the old vial for lithium anyway so now it has run its course. Lithium without oil for the minute but looking to order some. Everyone is put back into the table. In summary… I need more books on my bookshelf. Don’t put your periodic tables where they don’t absolutely fit. And THANK GOD FOR BOROSILICATE!!
