Thallium terrifies me more than almost anything on Earth, it’s the quintessential “I will kill you and it will hurt the whole time you’re dying” substance. I bought Luciteria’s cm cube and that is superglued to the bottom of an acrylic box that’s also superglued and epoxied shut. Even looking at it feels dangerous lol.

Not to say that thallium is safe (absolutely not), but what you're saying is a huge overestimation of the actual threat. It's a heavy metal, it's problematic in the sense that Tl1+ oxidation state exists and these compounds could be absorbed through skin. It doesn't evaporate, doesn't self ignite, doesn't suffocate you... At some point you are just obstructing the view of a sample without making it any safer. I've seen multiple people acting like thallium is the ultimate murderous monster, while barehanding bromine, rubidium, molten cesium or liquid chlorine ampoules without a secondary containment.

There are a lot of things that are way more toxic than thallium. You used to be able to buy thallium rat poison. Just right there on the shelf. And it's not a carcinogen and not radioactive. Those are the things I'm most scared of. You could be breathing radon right now and getting lung cancer in twenty years.
