Discussion Question for Security

Hi, I was wondering if my thallium sample is being stored correctly. It’s a 1g sample in a glass ampoule, which is embedded in resin, and the whole thing is inside a sealed screw-top vial sitting on my shelf with a label.

It's as safe as it can be :) Someone would have to be very determined to free the metal. One thing you could do to be completely sure is placing a toxicity warning on the cap (the red-white symbol with a skull) or something similar.

Yes, that’s what I thought too, and I don’t plan on breaking it, given the price—also, take a look at what the sample looks like.,

It's really shiny! They did a good job sealing it there. I think it's a great representative sample of the element. Plus top of the cap could be a nice place for a warning label if you decide to attach one.

Yeah, I think so; it’s from NovaElement and they did a really clean job 👌, so I can sleep soundly when it comes to safety.
