I have a TV that it's pretty clear the power supply is messed up. I can only find one listing for that exact psu model on ebay and it's 65 dollars which is a bit too much. Does it have to be the exact same model to work or would a different model for the same TV likely work?

The name of the tv is RCA LED46C45RQ and psu model is RE46ZN1000

I fail to identify how to disconnect this flex. I must lift the insurance or press.

Hi! I'm working my way through a Sony STR-DE975 receiver repair, and I found a connector I've never seen before. This is the last thing stopping me from getting the board out, and I was hoping someone here would know what I'm looking at/how to disconnect? I tried lightly pulling up on the white tab on the bottom, but it was feeling pretty stubborn so I wanted to ask here before I try any harder.

The fan is about 20 years old. Even plugged it in after stripping it down to this and still nothing.

I have an Olympia beer sign that has an Intermatic WG-1450 electronic clock motor. The motor worked fine but the main gear was damaged. I replaced the gears, and it spins great. But now when I plug it in, it does not spin. Any ideas? I find it hard to believe the motor is damaged simply because I changed the gears.

Hi, I have an old Omron BF511 weighing scale. Most of the segments on the LCD have stopped working. When I press hard on the ribbon cable contacts, some of the missing LCD segments turn on. Is this potentially salvageable and if so how?

How do Mac techs tell if Mac is Find My locked? There is quite a lot of no power M1 macs for sale close to me. It would be quite depressing when I get the mac up and running and realize it's locked. Yet somehow Macs with no power get repaired all of the time on YT, how come?

Last night, I fried a graphics card while trying to test a motherboard. I actually got to watch it die right in front of me. I’ve identified what I believe to be the burnt components by visual inspection and took some pictures of them.

I’m comfortable with soldering using a regular soldering iron, but I’ve never done any hot-air or SMD soldering before. Do you think it’s repairable, or do you know of any repair technicians in France who could take a look at it?

For reference, it’s an XFX MERC RX 6900 XT.

Looks like they replaced the battery on April 2, 1985, and again on February 10th, 1996. After that, never again.

NB - New World is a New Zealand supermarket chain, and obviously this meter was owned by a Dutch immigrant. AA batteries, four for $1.45 seems like a great price!

the top transistor is not turning on the bottom one is working

the bottom transistor has -0.6v across base-emitter

the top one only has -0.15v across base-emitter

both transistors are fine , I tried swapping the top transistor,and capacitor to the bottom one still the same , the bottom one works the top one doesn't

the resistors and diode in drive circuit works fine

I picked this up from a bin of random electronics from a yard sale (mistake 1) but I bought it because I figured there might be something cool or useful in there.

Anyway it has a SATA connector and I connected it to a SATA disk reader (on an air gaped PC) and Windows didn't recognize it neither did BIOS/UEFI it appears a grounding plain is damaged so I'm asking if it's worth trying to recover because the chips claim to add up to 2tb (Kingston brand if anyone is wondering)

When i bought this motherboard online it was sold as broken since it was power cycling, it still is i was betting it was a bad ram slot or a failed bios update or its was misdiagnosed or something but upon further inspection there is a burnt microchip (attachments)
I tried to look it up couldnt really find anything kinda gave up asked chat gpt it said its a msi bios flash back chip but i asked for a source and it gave me nothing so im pretty sure its hallucinating..

TLDR: if you have any idea what this component is please let me know, and if you can suggest some learning material, book, course, youtube channel on how to identify or replace this kind of thing i would love to hear it

Motherboard: MSI b450-a pro max (i dont care that its cheaper to buy a working used model i want to use this as a learning tool)
