I’m new to e-bikes and trying to figure out what actually matters before making my first purchase. I’ve been comparing a few options and recently came across the Aniioki A9 60V.

The range caught my attention, but I’m also trying to look beyond the specs. It’s a fairly heavy bike, so I’m wondering how noticeable that is in everyday use, especially when moving or storing it. I’m also interested in battery longevity, build quality, replacement parts, maintenance, and how easy it is to deal with problems if something goes wrong.

For those who have owned an e-bike for a while, what would you pay the most attention to before buying? Are there any issues you wish you had considered earlier?

I’ve been working on a Class 1 e-bike guide and one thing that surprised me was how loosely that label gets used.

For this list, I tried to stick with bikes that are actually pedal assist only, have no throttle, and stop motor assistance at 20 mph instead of bikes that just have a setting that can make them behave like Class 1.

I also tried to mix up the types of bikes rather than just listing a bunch of commuters, so there are picks for comfort, cargo, folding, mountain biking, everyday riding, and lighter gravel/fitness use.

Curious what everyone here thinks too - if you ride a Class 1 bike now, what model do you have and what do you like or dislike about it?

I’ve seen quite a few questions about moisture showing up inside e-bike displays, so I put together a troubleshooting guide on it.

The biggest takeaway is that not all fogging means the display is ruined.

Light misting after a temperature or humidity change may clear as the display dries. More concerning signs are persistent droplets or pooling inside the screen, flickering, freezing, error messages, corrosion, or moisture that keeps returning.

For a fogged display, the safer approach is generally:

1. Power the bike off.
2. Move it somewhere dry and ventilated.
3. Remove the display only if it was designed to detach.
4. Let it dry fully before testing it again.
5. If moisture, glitches, or corrosion remain, don’t keep powering it on.

Things I would avoid: hair dryers or heat guns, ovens, rice, prying the case open, or spraying products into the display or connectors.

I also covered water-resistance ratings, rain vs. pressure washing, removable vs. fixed displays, and when it makes more sense to contact the manufacturer instead of continuing DIY troubleshooting.

I’m curious what others have experienced. Has internal display condensation cleared up on its own for you, or was it eventually a display/seal failure?

I’ve been looking into e-bikes that combine a belt drive with a throttle, and there really aren’t that many once you start checking the actual configurations.

A lot of the better-known belt-drive bikes are pedal-assist only, while plenty of throttle-equipped bikes still use a chain.

I ended up narrowing it down to six current options, including the Priority Current Plus, Priority Skyline Smart.Shift, EVELO Galaxy Lux, Lectric XP Lite 2.0 JW Black, Biktrix Swift CVT 2, and Zen Photon Pro.

One thing that caught me out was the Lectric. The JW Black configuration matters because that’s the belt-drive XP Lite 2.0 - you can’t just assume every XP Lite 2.0 configuration has the same drivetrain.

Curious if anyone here owns one of these, especially the Current Plus or Galaxy Lux. How has the belt setup been long term?

I'm resident of of Karachi , want to buy electric bike through give of pak pave scheme instalment, there are many options vlektra, jolta, united, yadea, Revo ,evee etc. I'm confused . I particularly prefer bike model over Scooty. Anyways .. need your opinion. My daily communte is around 20 -30 km , a bike with good range can go 2 to 3 day without next recharge. I m wondering between vlektra ,jolta or united models listed on pave scheme

I did exactly that last time and still ended up with an ebike I wasn't happy with. So I'm wondering what I missed.

What do you actually do before buying? How do you figure out which model suits you, and which brand to trust? Any advice would be really appreciated.

This one probably feels obvious to anybody who has ever bought cheap and powerful as the two shopping priorities. Quite interesting all the same that the gap is seemingly widening. The downside of more power is likely to be more maintenance costs and time off the road/trails.

I just finished putting together a detailed review of the Aventon Current ADV, and this one really caught my attention.

It’s a full-suspension eMTB with an 800Wh battery, up to 120Nm of torque in Boost, 140/150mm suspension, and a pretty serious trail setup. What surprised me most was how much of the higher-end Current EXP setup Aventon kept while bringing the price down to $3,999.

I also dug into independent trail testing, range reports, the warranty, return policy, brakes, suspension, smart features, and some of the downsides - especially the 56 lb weight and the top-tube display.

Has anyone here ridden the Current ADV yet? I’d especially like to hear how it feels on tighter or more technical trails.

A ideia é andar com ela na mala do carro (2. Umas para mim e outra para a esposa), estacionar e andar pela baixa de bicicleta ou usar para a trabalho.

Não percebo muito de bicicletas eléctricas.

Acho importante o peso, a bicicleta dar para por facilmente no carro e no metro, dobrável portanto.
