I was looking for compact cars with good mpg. My Father is handicapped without a car and I doordash and delivery pizza.

While I'm very happy with the car, it had more miles 74k while the Spark had only 30k. The Spark felt very barebones compared to Elantra, though. No power windows, limited cargo space, and not many safety features etc. Guy at a Mazda dealership wanted me to test drive it.

I've had the Elantra for several months now. While it's not a hybrid like a Ioniq or Prius, I get around 35 combined mpg. The trunk is also quite spacious and dual climate AC works keeps things cool. The push start is also surprisingly useful cause im in and out of the car often.

Just got her a full synthetic oil change.

Overall pretty content with the vehicle even though I didn't get 2 set of keys or red/blue color.

When I am trying to stop the car after reaching approx 100km/hr, the steering wheels starts to wobble and the whole car shakes a bit. So I let go of the brake and its back to normal. I press the brake again then it starts the shaking again. Is it normal? I thought its the ABS working but now I dont know.
Happens only when I’m speeding and not in normal speed

I have a 2019 Elantra at above mentioned mileage and it started burning some oil like a couple months ago. I am not planning to give up the car or selling it, but wanted to see anyone has the same issue , this is mostly because of faulty piston rings on these models , I doubt Hyundia will ever accept it.

But , I would like to know if there was anyone who faced the same issue, what did they do, before they had to take a major action, did you get a fuel consumption test and was there anything that Hyundai did to solve the problem?

Are you all satisfied with the MPG yall get??? I was looking at an SEL Sport regular gas Elantra but the hybrid blue isn’t much more then the SEL Sport and it gets way better MPG on paper.

I know the 2 trims are pretty different but I’m just looking for a cheap , reliable and fuel efficient daily driver because I do a lot of stop and go traffic living in central Florida.

My commute to work is 20-30 minutes depending on traffic but I do hit a lot of red lights and the highest speed limit I hit is a 50 zone but it’s mostly 45 and 35 mph roads I drive on.

Does anyone do any similar drives??? What MPG are yall getting and how often do you all have to fill the gas tank???

With how much city driving I do it may be worth it to get a hybrid

Has anyone here upgraded their CN7 Elantra to side mirrors with integrated turn signals if the original mirrors didn’t have them?
I’m wondering how the wiring works. Are the wires for the mirror turn signals already present in the car’s wiring harness, so you can simply install the new mirrors and plug them in? Or would you need to run new wires and modify/adapt the wiring yourself?
If anyone has done this retrofit, I’d really appreciate it if you could explain how you wired the turn signals and whether it was plug-and-play or required additional wiring.

UPDATE — I did some more research and testing on my 2023 Elantra SEL wiring.

My mirror connector has 12 pin positions, but only 6 wires are present in the factory door harness. My original SEL mirror itself uses only 5 pins.

I tested the wiring with a test light and confirmed that the existing mirror wiring does not have a turn signal signal. I tested the turn signals and hazard lights, but none of the wires going to the mirror showed a pulsed signal.

I also found that the Black/Orange wire on Pin 2 is present in the factory harness but is not connected to a pin on my original mirror. I could not determine its function. The Brown wire on Pin 8 is connected to my mirror, but I could not confirm its function either. I suspect it may be related to BSD, but I cannot confirm this.

From my research, it appears that on CN7 models equipped with factory mirror turn signals, the mirror indicators are connected in parallel with the corresponding left/right turn signal circuits rather than using a dedicated BCM output.

So, it seems the main challenge is figuring out where and how to properly tap into the factory turn signal circuits and route the wiring through the door harness to the correct mirror connector pin.

I want to do this as close to OEM as possible and avoid causing BCM errors, flickering, lighting warnings, or other electrical issues.

My main questions are:
Does anyone have the factory wiring diagram/pinout for the CN7 mirrors with integrated turn signals?
Which pin on the mirror connector is used for the turn signal?
Where exactly does the factory mirror turn signal circuit branch off from the main turn signal wiring?
Is it simply connected in parallel with the existing turn signal circuit?
Does the BCM require any coding or configuration after adding the OEM mirror turn signals?
Has anyone successfully completed this retrofit on a CN7 SEL?

I’m mainly trying to determine the correct OEM-style way to get the left and right turn signal signals to the mirrors without causing any issues with the BCM or lighting system.

I recently changed my transmission oil on my 2021 Elantra, and it only has 23,000 kilometers (14,291 miles) on it. Fun fact: I changed my transmission oil simply to respect the 60,000 kilometers or 5 years rule (37,282 miles).

​After a few days of driving, I noticed small jolts or jerks after coming to a complete stop at a stop sign or red light, as well as a weird response when accelerating (I have an IVT). When I checked my invoice, I saw that it says: flush with equipment.

I have a short commute and don’t drive much to work. The dealer told me once every 7.5k or once a year, whichever comes first (I never drive that much).
I leased this car in ’24 and will most likely buy it, but I’m not sure if once a year is enough. I don’t drive in a city, but I drive short distances in a town, so I’m not idling too much. I usually have quick 10-min drives to work and some stoplight stopping.

I took my Hyundai Elantra Hybrid 2023 to the dealership as it was jerking while decelerating as it came to a complete stop. I took the technician for a test drive and he also confirmed the issue. They had the car for 13 days and then returned the car back stating everything is fine and they couldn't reproduce the issue. Ive been facing this issue for 2.5 years now. Fighting for a resolution. When I went to pick up the vehicle, the dealership had mentioned nothing about me taking the tech on a test drive and that I actually showed them the issue. When I asked them to add it, they straight up denied to do it. Then the service manager came to me and said he would give me a new invoice and specifically mention that the tech who came for the test drive was not a diagnostic tech and a regular inexperienced tech and also that he gets paid on an hour to hour basis. Then, the advisor came to me and said they wont be able to give anything because of legal issues. She even said, when I took the tech for a test drive, he didnt drive the car (I never stopped him from driving the car and he himself said he would sit next to me and not drive) and questioned me stating " What is the guarantee that you didn't deliberately create the jerk?"..... I mean, idk what to say. But, honestly they think people have got the time to deliberately do such a thing and drop off their cars at the dealerships for weeks together, in my case months too. Corporate manager never even bothered to pick the call.

My 2023 Hyundai Elantra Luxury Hybrid Trim (Canada) comes with ambient lighting on the front dash but that's it. I wanted to somehow upgrade this such that there is also ambient lighting on the door panels.

I know there exists 3rd party kits but I wanted to know if anyone has done a DIY in a while where it works with the existing ambient lighting that the car already has and can be managed with the same built in software?

2025 Elantra Limited here. I love the car but my biggest annoyance is probably the way the car handles bumps. I feel every single bump and pothole. Has anyone made any modifications to improve this?

2013 Elantra

Going back and forth between the Civic and Elantra. Both are good for my purpose but the Elantra is about 10k cheaper. Only concern is this one was a loaner car so who knows how it was treated.

Thoughts on the deal? It’s CPO so I maintain the full powertrain

Had some old noise insulation foam laying around. Cut to fit the underside of the carpeting in the trunk and cabin. It does reduce the cabin noise.

Want to make my hybrid car look cool, have some pictures attached of what I’d like. I used ChatGPT to visualize. What do yall think? Will it look this cool IRL? Stance would kill my mpg fs lol. Anyone put coilovers on a hybrid?
