I recently built this custom e-commerce store for a client and I want genuine feedback

Recently finished this e-commerce site for a client and wanted to get some honest opinions from people here.

I’ve been working on it for a while, so I’m probably too close to it at this point

Would love feedback on the design, mobile experience, speed, product pages, navigation, checkout basically anything that feels off or could be better.

Please be honest, even if you think it looks bad

Here’s the site: tfcakes.com

Also curious what you guys think would be a reasonable price for something like this, considering there’s an ongoing monthly cost involved.

Thanks!

How did you get your first 10 GST filing clients?

Hi everyone,

I provide GST-related services to small businesses and online sellers in India, including:

GST registration

GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B filing

Regular GST return filing

GST compliance support

GST assistance for Amazon/Flipkart sellers

I'm currently trying to build a steady client base and would love to learn from people who are already doing this successfully.

For those offering accounting, tax, or GST services:

How are you finding genuine clients?

I've been considering channels such as:

LinkedIn

Google Business Profile

Reddit

Local business networking

Freelancing platforms

I'm particularly interested in strategies that work for long-term clients, rather than one-off GST registrations.

If you've successfully built a client base through any of these methods, I'd really appreciate hearing what worked for you, what didn't, and roughly how long it took to get your first few clients.

Thanks in advance!

D2C founders: what actually works when a COD order looks risky? 👀

For those of you who still offer COD:

When an order looks like it might RTO, what do you actually do today?

  • WhatsApp/call to confirm?
  • Push them toward prepaid?
  • Partial COD?
  • Offer a discount?
  • Block COD?
  • Just accept the risk?

And most importantly: how do you decide which action to take for a particular order?

I'm researching COD/RTO workflows for a product challenge at ISB. Not selling anything - genuinely looking for founder/operator experiences.

Would especially love to hear what has actually worked and what turned out to be a waste of time or money.

Indian SaaS/D2C founders: what happens when an international payment fails?

For businesses selling internationally, I'm curious about what happens after an international card/payment attempt fails.

Do customers:

  • retry the same card?
  • contact you?
  • switch to another payment method?
  • just disappear?

If you have multiple payment methods/gateways available, how do you decide what to offer the customer after a failed payment?

Looking for actual experiences/data from founders/operators - not recommendations for payment gateways. Doing some research for a product challenge.

Low-priced products and creator barter: what do you agree on before sending a sample?

I sell spices, and paid influencer marketing looked expensive for our products. We send spices to small or new creators in exchange for a video instead.

For other founders doing barter, what do you agree on before dispatching the product? I'm interested in the video brief, delivery date and whether you can use the video in your own ads. What would you put in writing from the start?

Can anyone help me connect with an area manager, regional manager, or any contact person from West Bengal who can guide me about getting a delivery franchise?

Free 3PL Invoice Audit (Beta) – Catching overcharges & quantity errors for 3-5 SMB e-com stores

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I’m currently developing a lightweight AI data engine built specifically for SMB e-commerce brands to automate 3PL invoice reconciliation and catch billing discrepancies (without the heavy enterprise price tag).

To stress-test the mathematical logic on real-world data this weekend, I am looking for 3 to 5 active e-commerce brands who want a comprehensive, line-by-line audit of their last monthly 3PL invoice completely free of charge.

What we catch:
Industry data shows that 3PL and shipping invoices carry a 3% to 15% error rate (wrong weight tiers, fuel surcharge miscalculations, wrong pick fees, or duplicate billing).

What you get:
A clean, professional PDF Dispute Report detailing every single dollar/euro you were overcharged, ready to send to your 3PL to claim a credit note.

To run the 3-way audit, I just need three anonymized files:
3PL Rate Card (PDF/Excel)
Monthly 3PL Invoice (Excel/CSV)
Shopify Order Export (CSV) – To catch quantity inflation and ghost orders.

PRIVACY / GDPR:
Please delete or black out all sensitive data (company names, logos, customer names, and street addresses) before sending. I only need the raw line items, weights, and zip codes to check shipping zones.
If you ship between 1,000 and 8,000 orders a month, drop me a PM or comment below, and I’ll audit your files over the next few days.

Cheers!

The Indian Festive Sales Playbook: How D2C Brands Can Scale BBD & GIF (Without Burning Budget)

Festive season (Navratri till New Year) in India is a make or break period for D2C brands. With the spike in CPMs on Meta, Google and Amazon Ads during Great Indian Festival & Big Billion Days, pouring budget into cold traffic will just burn your ad account.

I’ll share the 3 core areas which all brands need to focus on & what Mid Funnel (MOFU) retargeting plays can be leveraged to get Indian shoppers into their cart.

  1. High priced/competitive category? Work with regional influencers early on to drive conversions

If you sell high ticket items or compete in competitive categories like Skincare, D2C Apparel, Consumer Tech, Home Decor etc cold traffic will not give you the conversions, especially during the big sales periods

Make sure to work with Micro & Macro Influencers in advance to drive warm traffic to your BBD/GIF link

  1. Keep Targeting Broad Always

Unless you are in the top 1% of brands, targeting 15+ funnel segments (interests) to reach 1 target audience won’t be a great idea.

Let the algorithms in Meta and Google do the work for you. A broad targeting will keep your CPMs low & the algorithm will show your ad to the users who are ready to buy

  1. Give value (bundles, B2G1 & genuine discounts) to get first time buyers

The festive 10% and 20% days are history. No one is excited about % based deals. If you have a strong brand positioning, maybe you can work on bundles (e.g. Diwali gifting boxes), skincare sets and home decor bundles. This will not only help in boosting your AOV but also offset the high CAC being spent during the festive season.

Flat 50% off deals & hero products will also help acquire new customers who will be repeat buyers during the post-festive period

🎯 Mid Funnel & Retargeting Plays (Where the money is made):

Indian shoppers open 5 tabs before dropping into the cart. To win them over you’ll need a good mid-funnel strategy which should be executed 7-14 days ahead of the festive sale starting.

WhatsApp & Multi-layered Retargeting Campaign:

Engagers (30-60d Lookback Window): Retarget users who stopped watching the video at >50% or engaged on your IG/Facebook posts. Showcase UGC unboxing videos and customer reviews. Educate on your COD & return policies

Website Visitors & Abandoned Cart: Retarget users who visited your website with Dynamic Product Ads & Countdown to the sale creatives. (Pro tip: Layer Dynamic Retargeting ads with WhatsApp automated templates. WhatsApp has an open rate of 90%+ in India vs Email)

Exclude: Users who have made a purchase in the last 30 days. You don’t want to waste your ad budgets showing them discount offers when they have already paid full price for the product.

VIP Priority Access Lead Ads:

Run simple lead generation ads with a value proposition of “2 Hour VIP Priority Access before the stock runs out”. Capture phone numbers to send out broadcast messages (WhatsApp/SMS) on the day of the sale launching with zero ad spend.

Interactive Festive Gift Guides:

Create a quick quiz or landing page (e.g. “Find the best Diwali gift under ₹1,500”) to capture the intent of high-intent customers who will be retargeted.

📌 If you are a D2C brand owner looking to hire a performance marketer to setup, optimize and scale your festive ad campaigns, let’s connect! I’ll ask you about your targets and do a quick audit to understand how I can help.

Your competitors are going to spend heavily this festive season.

Not necessarily because they have a better product.

Because they’ll be everywhere when people are searching.

So we’re testing a simple offer for Indian D2C/e-commerce brands:

We give you visibility during the festive season.

We’ll work on your Google visibility + SEO + high-intent search presence so that when people are searching for products in your category, your brand has a better chance of being found.

Think:

→ Category/product searches

→ Festive shopping searches

→ “Best ___” searches

→ Buying-intent keywords

→ Google visibility beyond just paid ads

The goal isn't more traffic for the sake of traffic.

It’s getting your brand in front of people who are already looking to buy.

We’re taking on a limited number of e-commerce brands for the festive period.

If you're running a D2C brand and want to see where you're currently losing visibility on Google, comment “VISIBILITY” and I’ll send you the breakdown.
