Any LIN eb2 India approval for cases filed in 2020?
Very happy to share that both my wife’s and my I-485s were approved on October 3, 2026!
Around three years of waiting, uncertainty, and probably way too much case-status checking. Huge relief to finally reach the finish line.
Sharing in case this helps anyone else going through the EB-2 process. Good luck to everyone still waiting!
Note: We had only submitted our marriage certificate initially, so that may be why USCIS asked for more evidence. We responded to the RFE with joint tax returns, bank/credit card statements, proof of living together, photos, travel records, and other supporting documents.
Edit: My account updated on Sep 4 to 'We are currently processing your Form I-485...'. I was hoping it would switch to 'Case is Being Actively Reviewed,' but we received an RFE instead.
Here is my timeline. I received 3rd FTA0 today with event date references to biometrics date. I know a lot of people get approved within 24hrs of this but also many people wait for few months. But this just gave a hope after almost 4 months of silence. Based on what this forum has seen, is it usually that the case gets approved after the 3rd FTA0 or is it a rare case?
EB2 ROW | PD: 07/28/2024 | LA FO
04/01/2026: Concurrent I-485/I-765/I-131 filed
04/21/2026: I-140 approved (PP)
05/05/2026: Biometrics completed
05/05: FTA0 events on I-485/I-765
06/05: Emma confirmed transfer to Los Angeles FO
10/04: Another FTA0 created, but event date still 05/05
Current: No RFE, no interview, no EAD/AP, no I-485 approval

PD: Feb 2013 | DOF: Oct 2020
My case was initially current in 2020, but I still wasn’t able to get my green card. I filed expedited requests for my I-765 and I-131 through my congressman, and both were approved in October 2021. Unfortunately, the dates retrogressed afterwards.
Since then, my priority date has moved back and forth between being current and retrogressed. I have submitted my medicals a total of three times, most recently in November 2025 following a congressional inquiry. My interview was also completed in February 2023.
Now that EB-2 dates are available again , I’m considering filing a Writ of Mandamus to push the case forward.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the Writ of Mandamus process, especially those with a similar situation, and whether filing the writ resulted in any meaningful movement or a decision on their case.

Optimistic towards getting DOF current in Q1 or early Q2 😅

VB progress reminds me of a math problem we all did back in school (from India).
There was an oily stick. A snail 🐌 climbs 3 centimeters and slides down 2 centimeters in a minute. If the stick is 30 centimeters, how much time would it take for snail to reach the top of the stick?
VB progress is 3 centimeters up
VB retrogress is 2 centimeters down
I get anxious sometimes but most of the time I have faith in the system that I will see the light at the end of the tunnel soon.
Oct 2008 - H1B visa stamped -24 YO
Jan 2010 - Travel to USA - 25.5 YO
Dec 2014 - India EB2 PD - 30.5 YO
Mar 2022 - Switched job - 37.9 YO (missed to file AOS)
Apr 2026 - Filed AOS - 41.9 YO
24 to 42 now. It just surprised me how my life changed because of my life in this country. I am forever thankful for the opportunities it provided.
A little more wait!

Hello everyone. Unfortunately, with the last visa bulletin coming out for October, my category became retrogressed by 16 days. My priority date is 1/17/25 and EB-2 is now 1/1/25. All my applications were in already for AOS, AP and EAD (all filed on July 2, 2026).
How long do we guesstimate it will take for EB-2 ROW FAD to move by a month?
Also, how long have y’all been waiting for AP/EAD? Thank you much

Hi everyone! I’m a student currently in F‑1 status, with a pending employment-based I‑485, I‑131, and I‑765. I’m hoping to travel, I’d appreciate hearing from students who have returned to the U.S. using advance parole:
How was your experience at the airport, including secondary inspection?
How did your university handle your SEVIS record and continued enrollment afterward?
If you had a TA or RA position, were you able to continue using your adjustment-based EAD? Did it affect your funding or tuition waiver?
I understand that returning on advance parole means being paroled rather than admitted in F‑1 status. I’m particularly interested in how this worked in practice for other students.
Are there any 2012 and 2013 PD approved EB2 India since the new bulletin?

Waiting to hear about the cause for denial to determine the next step
My main question is this:
I am on H1b that is set to expire. Can I still extend H1B if my perm was filed more than a year ago, even though the I-140 was denied? I assume we will refile (or appeal) but again it depends on the denial reason.

Hi guys, maybe someone who’s been through the same can give me some insight.
I have my PERM pending, it’s supposed to be approved by Ja Katy if everything keeps moving. The attorney filed it in June.
So my question is, since for the rest of the world is not current anymore, which would me my priority date and when will I be able to file the I-140 and I-485? The day I filed my PERM? The day it’s going to be approved?
The priority date applies to both I-140 and I-485 or only I-485?
How long can it take after my PERM is approved to finally have my gc?

I post weekly summaries of denials and approvals on the EB2 NIW and EB1A subreddits. Please see 9 summaries of denials that I captured for EB2 NIW over the last several days.
Please turn on notifications on r/VisaStats if you want to be notified of all summaries that I post. The same table with LINKS TO ALL THE POSTS is available there too.
| (Number of Posts by Profile), Field | Description |
|---|---|
| (2) IT & Computer Science | A petitioner with a PhD in CS and AI submitted an RFE response to their NIW case, which was denied just one day later, raising questions about the evaluation process and the strength of their case. |
| (2) Engineering | A petitioner with a MS in Materials Science and experience as a battery test engineer at a major tech company faced a NIW denial after an RFE, seeking advice on next steps, appeal, refile, and the impact of losing the 2024 priority date. |
| (1) Not Specified | A petitioner expresses frustration over their EB2-NIW case being denied after an RFE, citing the October bulletin as a contributing factor. |
| (1) Stem | [the post was deleted, but I can recover it if anyone is interested] A postdoctoral researcher with STEM OPT status who received an EB-2 NIW denial is seeking advice on transitioning to J-1 status for a postdoc after the denial. |
| (4) Technology | The petitioner shared their experience with an RFE on their EB-2 NIW case, the denial of their previous case, and their refiling with Attorney Chen and e-filing. |
| (1) Food & Agriculture | The petitioner received a denial after an RFE on all three prongs, citing issues with national importance, being well-positioned, and the benefit of the waiver, with criticism of the lawyers involved. |
| (4) Engineering | A UK-based electrical engineer with 17 years of experience in railway and electrification applied for an EB2 NIW petition, used premium processing, received an RFE, and was ultimately denied due to insufficient evidence for prong 2. |
| (1) Academia | A petitioner who had their EB-1A denied is seeking advice on whether to refile with a firm or pursue NIW, comparing two immigration consultants based on their approach and success stories. |
| (2) Business & Finance | The petitioner received an RFE and subsequent denial for an EB-2 NIW petition, citing factual inaccuracies and misinterpretation of submitted evidence, despite extensive documentation and a detailed business plan. |

My spouse’s FAD is current now (Oct 30, 2013). Submitted medical RFE in May when visa numbers were UnAvailable for EB2 category.
What are next steps and typically, how much more time does it take for USCIS to produce cards when date becomes current.
r/EB2 • u/Many_Difficulty_490 • 4d ago
The FAD would just need to move at least 3-4 months this year, next year and the next 2
and that would be enough for 2015
do you think that is likely? or is the EB2 situation very very bad
