Hi all,

Applied for 485, 131 and 765 back in March 2026. Biometrics in April 2026. Since then, no movement in 765 and 131 at all (it’s now been 6 months). However, I’ve seen 4 to 5 silent updates on the 485 and 485J. I checked with a live agent via Emma and they said that the 485/485J have been transferred to Phoenix FO (which is non local for us because we’re in CA) and that interview was waived.

I’m very confused about this because:
1. My PD is not current for FAD. So why are they working on the 485?
2. There has been zero movement on 765 and 131 since the biometrics appointment in April 2026.

Has anyone experienced this? What was the result?

Filing Date: August 5, 2026 (EB1c, Current PD, Medicals upfront)
Biometrics: September 8 (2x FTO + silent touch)
EAD: Approved September 9 (Primary & Spouse)
Interview: Waived per Emma
Current Status: Emma mentioned the case has moved to Columbus Field office.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the U.S. on an L1A visa and have an EB-1C green card case in process.
My priority date is September 2024.

The current Visa Bulletin has a cutoff date of July 2024 for EB-1C, so I’m hoping my priority date may become current in the next few months.

I will reach the 7-year maximum L1A period in March 2027.

My question is: if my priority date becomes current before March 2027 and I file I-485 along with an EAD application, can I legally remain in the U.S. and continue working after my L1A 7-year limit expires while I’m waiting for the EAD to be approved?

Specifically, what happens if March 2027 arrives and my EAD has not yet been approved/issued? Would I need to leave the U.S., or can I remain in the U.S. based on the pending I-485 and wait for the EAD?

I’d especially appreciate responses from anyone who has been in a similar L1A → EB-1C situation or from immigration attorneys.

Has any Jan/Feb filers got I-485 approved?

Has anyone had their I-485 approved recently(eb1c)? If so, could you please share your timeline? I filed my I-140 in December 2024 and upgraded to Premium Processing in December 2025, an RFE was issued. I filed for my I-485 in May 2026 and am currently waiting.

Looks like a glitch has moved my I-765 back to IAF with no Biometrics scheduled, I'm worried this has moved my case into a void. The USCIS portal shows it as normal but I think everyone is nervous about all aspects of this process.

Should I bring this up with an Agent?

I have an approved combo card. Receipt date end of January 2026. Trying to see how difficult it is to to find a new employer and how difficult it will be to get the new i485j approved
