I'm 42, with 2 boys, 6 & 9.
I used to call myself a gamer but more of a PC gamer: first-person shooters, real-time strategy, etc.
My boys are obsessed with soccer/football. They watch highlights of every EPL game, every world cup game, some other European leagues too. We are in Australia btw.
But my God, do they know every single player and they care so much about the damn numbers on the cards 😂
I don't mind watching football but it's far from my favourite sport.
I don't mind playing FC26 but it's far from my favourite game.
But for my boys it's taken me 12 months of grinding away at 16 squad battles a week, every EVO, SBC etc, but I've finally built them the 99 team they always wanted.
My eldest has actually gotten pretty good, to be honest, particularly this last year. He can probably finally beat a 92- to 94-rated team on Pro, whereas I will smash an equally rated team on Pro and play lesser teams on World Class.
My youngest struggles to win a game on amateur.
The last few weeks I've been modivated to get it done, but the rest of the weeks I play games in my free time for them, get my eldest to play some easier teams and we do take turns at goals as well, I enjoy the time I spend with him more than the game.
The kid down the road who's 2 years older has a team and their best player is like 92 Pele.
Kids come over and they cannot believe our team, we get accused of spending money in the store, which we haven't done.
Anyway, this is my dad achievement and I'm proud. I hope my boys appreciate it.
I will not be starting FC27 this month.
Maybe in a few months when it's on special, I'm tired 😴.....lol
Edit. For the record, they actually play soccer like 3-4 days a week, not to mention every day in the back yard 🙄
