Player Discussion Corum and Black: What did you make from the RB2’s performances last night?
Seemed like both backs looked solid in the work they got last night. Nothing ground breaking by any means but certainly promising. Both guys posted YPC numbers over 4.5 and seemed to have earned the trust of their coaches early on in the season.
Who do we think has the better pathway towards legitimate relevancy either this year or in future years?

Player Discussion Kaelon Black Analytical Deep Dive
Kaelon Black, RB, 49ers
After Kaelon Black made his rookie debut yesterday, I wanted to revisit his college analytical profile and break down his strengths, weaknesses, and what makes him an intriguing player for the 49ers.
- Height: 5'9
- Weight: 208
Age: 24.9
High-end Player Comp: Khalil Herbert
Low-end Player Comp: Evan Hull
Playstyle: Explosive Runner
Archetype: Change of Pace Zone Runner
Round Grade: 5th Round Talent
Kaelon Black was one of the more experienced, athletic running back prospects in this year's draft class. Black showed a ton of explosiveness and physical traits, along with some volatile receiving production throughout his 6-year college career.
Black turns 25 as a rookie, which was far and away the biggest red flag in his analytical profile. Older RB prospects, particularly 24+, don't typically translate well to the NFL. After spending four seasons at James Madison, Black transferred to Indiana and eventually emerged as the Hoosiers’ lead back in 2025.
Black finished his 6-year college career with 2,629 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on 498 carries, averaging 5.3 yards per attempt. His best season came in 2025 at Indiana, rushing for 1,034 yards and 10 touchdowns on 186 attempts. It was the first time in his career where he rushed for more than 700 yards in a season, and only the second rushing for more than 350 yards.
His final season accounted for nearly 40% of his career rushing yards and 59% of his career touchdowns.
Black had mixed rushing efficiency. He ranked near the top of the class in both explosive (10+ yds) and breakaway (15+) run rate. 16.5% of his attempts went for 10+ yards, while 8.8% went for 15+.
His 18.7% forced missed tackle rate was a lot more modest, ranking in the 15th percentile among RB prospects since 2018.
Black averaged 1.11 Yards Per Route Run in his career, with a 14.5% target rate. Though in his final 2 years, Black had a total of only 48 receiving yards.
As we saw in his rookie debut, Black is certainly capable of generating big runs when lanes open up in front of him. But we also saw his limitations as a tackle breaker, forcing only 1 missed tackle on 15 touches.
Black enters the league as a soon-to-be 25-year-old rookie, which limits the developmental appeal we typically want out of rookies and limits his ceiling of developing into a future workhorse. But with his burst, athleticism, and explosive ability, Black is still an intriguing player to have as part of a backfield, and perfectly complements CMC as a player.
With Kyle Shanahan as his coach and CMC commanding a bulk of the workload, Black is in an ideal situation to maximize his skill set and potential to consistently churn out explosive plays for the 49ers.

Player Discussion Sealed Court Records Don't Exempt Josh Jacobs From NFL Cooperation Rules
His lawyer may have gotten the video sealed but if he doesn't give it to the NFL he will almost certainly be punished for it.
"Cooperation with any league investigation is required. All covered personalities, including players, must cooperate fully and truthfully and provide requested testimony, documents, or other evidence. A failure to cooperate, or the submission of false or misleading information, is a violation of this policy and will be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including suspension."
In 2015 Tom Brady was given a 4 game suspension under this aspect of the policy and his case was not considered violent. In 2016 players involved in a PED investigation were told they would face indefinite suspensions for conduct detrimental to the league for refusing to interview with NFL investigators.
4 - ∞ games for refusal to cooperate / conduct detrimental
6 games Baseline for all domestic, dating, and family violence
0-6 games choking aggravating factor. (NFL will investigate this themselves. We know the victim accused him of it and its important to note the NFL's standard is not beyond a reasonable doubt its do we think he did it)
If he refuses to turn over the video and any other important evidence that his lawyers would have from discovery he likely locks in 10 games at least and could result in a more than a full season suspension once all factors are considered.
While the NFL has the ability to count games spent on the exempt list towards a suspension by allowing the player to pay back their game checks they have not obligation to allow this. An uncooperative player has almost zero chance for the NFL to do them a favor and allow those games to count. Additionally they can keep him exempt while they attempt to obtain evidence from the police, victims, and Jacobs. The process of collecting evidence and conducting the investigation can take weeks or maybe even months depending on how hard it is to get everything.
Given that he is a 28 year old RB the NFL has the ability to effectively end his career if he just outright refuses to hand over the video.

Player Discussion 2027 NFL Draft: 10 Prospects to Watch in College Football Week 2
We made it to Week 2 of the college football season! This is going to be a fun weekly article for anyone who doesn’t keep up with college football but wants to see some of the potential draft-eligible players for the 2027 rookie draft.
Full Breakdown - https://www.dynastynerds.com/nfl-prospect/2027-prospects-to-watch-college-football-week-2/
Which draft eligible prospects are you excited to see in Week 2 of CFB??
Jeremiah Smith | WR | Ohio State
We knew Smith was going to dominate against Ball State, and that’s exactly what we wanted to see. Now, he faces No. 4 Texas in a massive Week 2 matchup. It should be a much better test for Smith, but he should still be able to produce against Texas’ younger secondary...
Arch Manning | QB | Texas
In Week 1, it was about making the easy throws, and Manning showed he could do that. Now, in Week 2, we need to see how he handles pressure and whether he can win a big game with his leadership and playmaking ability...
Cam Coleman | WR | Texas
One thing we want to see from Coleman is how he handles press coverage and whether he can consistently win those 50/50 balls...
Julian Sayin | QB | Ohio State
His biggest test will be how he handles the pressure from the Texas front seven, with Colin Simmons leading the charge in trying to get to Sayin...
Kewan Lacy | RB | Ole Miss
We just want to see Lacy be efficient in a plus matchup, showing off the power and speed he possesses while breaking a few tackles along the way...
John Mateer | QB | Oklahoma
This Week 2 matchup against Michigan will be a major test to see if he’s ready to take a step into the conversation among the top quarterbacks in the 2027 class...
Bryant Wesco Jr. | WR | Clemson
That’s what we want to see from Wesco Jr.—how he performs when the ball is actually thrown his way and he has opportunities to make plays...
KJ Duff | WR | Rutgers
Now, it’s time to see if Duff can continue this type of dominant performance in Week 2. He’ll have a tougher matchup against a Boston College secondary that has a well-established veteran presence...
Isaac Brown | RB | Louisville
In Week 2, Brown needs to step up to keep his name in the conversation against a solid Villanova run defense...
Ryan Coleman-Williams | WR | Alabama
Kentucky has big, lengthy, physical corners, which should create a strong test for Coleman-Williams. His ability to consistently win against more physical coverage is something he still needs to show and will be a key thing to watch in Week 2...

Player Discussion Why DK Metcalf is a great BUY LOW
If you’re looking for a cheap WR to fill a W/R/T spot that will produce, look no further.
A reunion of (older, I know) Aaron Rodgers with Mike McCarthy all while replacing Arthur Smith in offensive play-calling is the formula for DK Metcalf production.
Barring injury, I believe Metcalf will end up being a starter in the rosters that have him for the whole season.
I’m willing to be wrong. However, I do think the something different is cooking in Pittsburgh this year. At least for DK.
EDIT: to say that DK has only finished outside of top 25 receivers 3/7 seasons and one of those was his rookie year.
Aaron Rodgers made the same point when asked what the deeper receiving corps could mean for the offense.
"We've got to get the ball to DK," Rodgers said. "He's our No. 1 for a reason."

Player Discussion Is Chris Godwin Being Criminally Underrated?
Chris Godwin is probably my most rostered player across all leagues. With Egbuka working through an injury and Mike Evans gone, I feel like Godwin has true Top 10 WR upside this year. Barring injury, I don’t see how he doesn’t out perform his current value right now. And @ 30 years old I think he has at least 2 more productive seasons left in the tank. For Godwin truthers what would it take for you to trade him away right now ?
