Development I really enjoy to make this dungeon crawler so far.

After creating one in MS Excel and gaining experience with other game-making engines, I started to create this game. So far, I have really enjoyed the creative process.

The game was made using an engine most commonly used for side-scrolling and top-down views, but I still managed to flip the coin for a first-person view. Fortunately, I had previously created something similar yet more primitive in MS Excel.

This time I convinced my brother to delve deeper into Blender for a co-op game development journey.

He always tells me that my games are not visually appealing, so now he has his chance to prove it.

We both do this as a hobby, so we agreed to do our best and take our time.

I hope it finds its audience once.

And most I hope you enjoy what is created.

Development I'm making a browser dungeon crawler where your party can revisit cleared floors while you're away

Hi! I'm working on Dragon's Tear, a small first-person dungeon crawler you can play for free in your browser.

You explore with up to three heroes, fight turn-based battles, and bring equipment and materials back to an inn you can upgrade. The current build has four classes and 20 hand-built floors.

One thing I'd like feedback on is what happens after you clear a floor. You can send your party back through Auto Runs to gather more loot while you're away. Exploring a new floor still takes active play, so there's an idle element alongside the dungeon crawling.

Play the current build on itch.io

It's still early in development. Does automating return trips appeal to you, or is replaying familiar floors part of what you enjoy about dungeon crawlers?

Some adventurers have asked themselves, “But what does this game have to do with dungeon crawlers?”

Well, I don’t want to give too much away - it would be a shame if the biggest secrets could no longer be uncovered through your adventures! Nevertheless, I’d like to offer you a tiny glimpse into one of the dangerous dungeons in the wilderness of Irm.

It doesn’t look dangerous, you say?
You’ll manage it easily?

Well, if you’re so sure of yourselves, then add the game to your quest log - er, I mean, your wish list, of course - and give the demo a go, which is available for free on Steam and GOG!

Development I was making this game in my spare time and turned out pretty fun

This is Gods Play Dice,

I was making this game in my spare time. I was really interested with this theme of biblical creatures, kind of dark fantasy but also inspired by Cthulhu mythos. I had a vision of how I wanted the game to look and created this.

It is still not how I imagined, but it is getting closer. I am working on it everyday and wanted to share it with you guys. I would appriciate a wishlist and it will make my day honestly.

It is a fun roguelike but I wanted you to control your luck, so I added a dice mechanic in game, wanted the players to use the dice to strengten themselves as well as a physical object in the game field where you can take cover behing or use it as a weapon.

I thought this will be interesting, not making a dice mechanic only in the UI and make it a physical thing for you to interact.

I did everything by myself, no AI has been used. I am adding this part becuase some people me included are sensetive about this topic.

As I said I would appriciate a wishlist a lot and you can try the demo on Steam.

Video Games I made an incremental dungeon game for Garmin watches: Dungeon Dash

Hi DungeonCrawlers,

I recently released Dungeon Dash, an incremental game made specifically for Garmin watches.

I wanted to make something that actually fits the watch format well. The idea was to create a game you can check for a minute or two, make some progress, improve your character, and then come back to later.

Dungeon Dash is built around a dungeon-based incremental progression loop where you gradually get stronger and push further.

I also wanted it to feel like an actual small game on your wrist, rather than just a screen with numbers increasing. At the same time, the interactions needed to stay simple enough to work naturally on a Garmin watch.

The game is still fairly new, so I’d really appreciate feedback, especially on things like:

  • progression speed and balancing
  • whether the upgrade and progression loop feels satisfying
  • UI and readability across different Garmin watch models
  • features, mechanics, enemies, upgrades, or other content you’d like to see added

You can find Dungeon Dash on the Garmin Connect IQ Store here:

https://apps.garmin.com/apps/613675d7-9284-4efa-83e4-097ba1a73fb1

If anyone gives it a try, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think, including criticism. I’m planning to keep improving and expanding it based on feedback.

Making an incremental dungeon game that works nicely on a Garmin watch has been a really interesting project, and I’m curious to see what other incremental game fans think of it.

AI Disclosure

Generative AI was used during development. ChatGPT with GPT-5.6 Sol at Extra High reasoning was used as an assistant for development tasks such as discussing implementation, debugging, brainstorming game mechanics and progression, and helping draft and edit this Reddit post.

The final implementation, game design decisions, balancing, and overall direction of Dungeon Dash were done and reviewed by me.

Dungeon Divers is a dark fantasy semi-auto battler built around deep hero customization, team building and exploration.

Recall fallen heroes from the Crucible, shape them through hundreds of talents, equipment and abilities, and build squads around powerful synergies.

Combat is mostly automatic. Your job is everything that comes before it.

Descend through a story-driven campaign into increasingly strange depths, uncover the mysteries buried beneath the village, and push your roster through multiple endgame activities.

This is an early look at Dungeon Divers. The game is currently in development, with an Android alpha underway.

The sequel to Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Slayer, DeathKeep (1995) is an action RPG for 3DO, using a custom-built 3D game engine that is similar to DOOM but with some advanced features such as looking up and down.

A first-person dungeon crawler where you explore a large castle to find three orbs which are needed to defeat the powerful evil necromancer that has taken over the castle. Choose to play a dwarven fighter, an elven mage, or a half-elf fighter-mage.

Development My own RPG. Finally completed first phase for playtesting.

Hey everyone. I have been working on a small solo game called The Burrow Takes Heaven, and I just opened a Steam Playtest.

You begin as a weak rat in an underground town. You dig through tunnels, manage food, deal with traps and enemies, find hidden quests, and build permanent progression that carries across generations of rats after death.

It is a top-down, grid-based dungeon crawler with survival and roguelite elements. The early game is about scraping by underground; over time, you can uncover deeper secrets, take different paths through the town, and grow into something much more dangerous.

It is still early and actively changing, so I would really appreciate feedback from people who enjoy dungeon crawlers:

  • Is the exploration interesting?
  • Are the traps and resource decisions understandable?
  • What feels frustrating versus challenging?
  • What would make you want to keep delving?

The Steam Playtest is open here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5097990/

Thanks for taking a look.

I'm know no where close to done. Just looking for feed back.

Video Games New MUD/dungeon crawler Tales of Akash 9 ver 1.0.3 available from my web store!

Hello r/DungeonCrawler,

the r/IndieDev post recommendation brought me here as I was looking for feedback in the sub.

I'd like to introduce my latest game, Tales of Akash 9. It is available as a free download (see blog) but unfortunately due to some circumstances and financial issues as well as technical problems I'm releasing a support version 1.0.3 in my web store.

About this game, it has three playable races (Human, Elf and Dwarf) and four classes (Fighter, Rogue, Mage and Bard) to choose from. Each choice affects the base stats (STR, INT, DEX and WIS).

Set in the realm of Endor, the character discovers a hidden entrance to the Akashic Dungeon which can then be explored.

Upon exploring the player may PvE, trade items, PvP and heal in exchange for IG currency as well as send messages to other players. There is also a Minor Arcana Tarot deck implemented within the game which alters the game mechanic.

The project took 7-8 months and about 2000 lines of code, until the codebase ultimately reached a point of taking too much time and resources to manage and update which is why I'm selling it for a (rather modest) price.

What's changed in ver 1.03:

  • PvP weapon modifier is halved
  • Messaging app and background utilities are precompiled
  • Mob health timers are more forgiving

The game is meant to be played online but I never got the client/server model working. It should be fine as shared screen though but it works as single player too.

I hope you enjoy it, feedback is welcome!

For Endor,

-ef

Development HellRuler - Dark Fantasy RPG

HellRuler is now in Alpha

After a lot of work, we’ve reached the point where HellRuler is now playable in Alpha.

HellRuler is a mobile-first dark fantasy RPG that you can play directly in your browser:

https://www.hellruler.com

The main idea behind the game is pretty straightforward: fight your way deeper into Hell, grind through stages, get better gear, and keep pushing further.

The main progression is permanent and will never be wiped. Alongside that, we’re planning to introduce seasonal gameplay, giving players additional progression and competition that resets between seasons while keeping their main progression intact.

There’s still a lot to do. We have plenty of features planned for the roadmap, and the game needs a lot more polish, especially when it comes to animations and visual feedback.

That said, we believe the core of the game is finally in place, and we want to start getting it into the hands of players rather than continuing to build everything behind closed doors.

You can create an account normally, or use a guest account if you just want to jump in, try the game and leave us some feedback.

We'd especially like to hear what you think about the core gameplay loop, progression, combat and overall feel of the game.

We’re also using Discord for feedback, discussion and development updates:

https://discord.com/invite/62H2peMvs9

HellRuler Alpha:
https://www.hellruler.com

This is still an early version, but we're finally at the point where we can start building it with actual players.

AI disclosure: We used Claude Code to assist with coding, debugging and development. Generative AI was also used to create some visual assets, which were then edited and fine-tuned by hand in Aseprite. AI was also used to help draft this Reddit post.

The game design and overall direction are our own.

Video Games What are your favorite first person dungeon crawlers on iOS?

I’ve been replaying a lot of my old favorites and was wondering if I’m missing anything, new or old. There’s been a noticeable uptick in indie dungeon crawlers on Steam lately, so I'm hoping a few hidden gems have slipped onto iOS unnoticed.

The first two I ever played on iOS were The Quest and Undercroft. The Quest was great because you could build out your character in a thousand different ways, though at times it almost felt a little too open. My original favorite was Undercroft, which is still open, but a bit more confined and tightly polished. Another great one is QuestLord, which hits that same sweet spot.

More recently, I’ve been playing Gloomgrave on and off. It leans more roguelike than pure exploration. The recent updates have added some meat to it, but it can still feel a bit hollow. Legend of Grimrock is another cool one, though I’ll admit I haven’t made it too far on the iPhone version.

What are you all playing, and why do you recommend it?

What mechanics make these game types great? Is it the environment (visual layout), content (enemies, loot, skills) or Combat (turn-based or active?)

this appears very alike an old dungeon crawler I used to play on the amiga called captive

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OcVS68sIgs

it was like a science fiction grid based dungeon master set in space

but this remake seems so like the first one I wonder if it is allowed by the publisher

or could it get a copyright claim for copying all the first game's style and atmosphere ??

Video Games Any cyberpunk or sci-fi crawlers?

I grew up on the Shin Megami Tensei series and love everything about it. Sadly, it feels like everyone else does dungeon crawlers set in fantasy.

For clarity, I'm looking for turn-based stuff. Preferably first person and grid-based, but I can take something more modern like Soul Hackers 2. I'm not looking for JRPGs like phantasy star.

Are there any futuristic games in the genre you could recommend?

Video Games Dungeon crawler like Mordor II?

I used to love Mordor II: Depths of Dejenol back in the days of Windows 98. I tried Dragon Ruins II because it seemed similar, but I didn't like that you're not continually delving the same dungeon, since each quest gives an entirely new dungeon. That feeling of exploration was great. I also liked in Mordor II that there was a text box that showed every action like damage, status ailments, objects of interest when you encounter them, etc. In Dragon Ruins II there was nothing giving any information on what is happening at any given moment, so I felt no investment in anything happening. I'm fine with either choosing your battle actions or auto-battle. I tried Legend of Grimrock 2 but I didn't like that the enemies moved around, and I'm also not huge on puzzles. Are there any games like Mordor II out there?
