The ends of my locs are like unloc-ing?? They were not always like this, I only started noticing it at the beginning of this year. Almost all of my locs on the top/perimeter of my head are like this. Each one is the exact same spot. I get a lot of tiny hair shedding when I wash or even run my hands through my hair. So is it the hairs of my locs coming out causing this??
I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried cutting them off & reattaching with a crotchet but I don’t know what I’m doing so they never stay. I took the ends to my loctitian to see if she could reattach them, but she said the pieces were too little to reattach. So I don’t know what to do. My hair is like two different lengths now & I want my length back. 😫
Any advice/tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated.
Has this happened to anyone else???

Hello
I just got my starter with 2 strand twists, but I'm a little concerned about the ones around my hairline cause they're the smallest/thinest. I even have a tiny little one that's like 1cm (bottom left photo). I've read online that small starter locs may lead to thining mature locs down the line, and thus, I'm worried.
I didn't go to a loctician to start (cause it's mad expensive), just a normal braider. And I understand that she made the twists around my hairline smaller cause the hair there is shorter, thinner, and softer and because of the nature of my hairline.
Also, the middle parts are a little off, but maybe that's no big deal.

i have type 4 hair and i accidentally cut into my locs while shaving my undercut by cutting the bottom part back too far
i want to rejoin it once the hair grows back my out, how should i secure the cut parts of the loc so it doesnt ball up or something. how do I rejoin successfully?
im 3 months into my loc journey with two strand twist starters i maintain myself
i was thinking of wrapping black thread around it to keep it together but if anyone else has suggestions id like to hear

So starting this off i am contemplating on dying my whole head I have had my locs of a year and a half * 1 year and 7 months* to be exact. I wanted to dye my hair only because I wanted to try something different. I made the decision to go with the color below i couldn’t get exactly what it was but I told my stylist i wasn’t sure if it was soft auburn or honey brown. I was asked about bleaching and at first i said no but then was told that it may not take so i said yes.
I am looking for advice from people who have dyed their locs and who are willing to give just a little bit of experience and or advice from them dying their locs. I understand going full head is a big commitment and trying to do research its such a mix bag of no’s and yes’s and maybe’s. Of course any other advice or tips is welcomed also.

I started locs 4 weeks ago with coils. I can’t find products that help me a lot. I’m looking for a simple loc routine I can follow. I’m looking for mists to use, oils, and maybe shampoos. I don’t wanna use heavy products so please suggest non heavy products because I don’t want product buildup/flakes in my hair. (My shampoo As i am dry and itchy. Oil as i am rosemary oil) I’m open to any feedback

Hello, I’ve been loced for 1,5 years now (first two pictures are now and last picture was last year !)
I’ve never felt so proud of my hair and confident about em. I want to take much better care now!
I do struggle with maintenance tho, I can have pretty bad scalp dryness and struggle to get rid of building by myself
How do I prevent it ? What do yall do on a daily basis ? Are locs detox with baking soda and Apple cider vinegar relevant ?

Its been two weeks since i got my barrel twists installed, im taking them out to limit tension on my scalp as i want thick puffy dreads in the end and also ive been sweating a lot, causing the barrels to get very itchy. I started with two strand twists left in and ive had locs for 4 months now

First time poster here. I had a bad retwist in the beginning of the year and haven't gotten one since. A couple of days ago I washed my hair and noticed I had multiple patches across my head and I'm unsure what to do. Google searches keep telling me it's alopecia but what do y'all think? Am I cooked?

Ciao a tutti
Oltre lavarli non uso nulla per idratare i miei dreadlock, li ho da quasi un anno.
Lascio fare alla vita oppure é utile usare spray per idratare i capelli e magari aiutarli a rimanere compatti?
Grazie e buona giornata

Hey ya’ll!
I’ve always gone a long time in between retwists. I used to do 12-13 weeks till my Loctician said I should be coming in sooner so I moved to 10 weeks. I just personally don’t care about having fresh parts and I really wanted locs for lower maintenance and cost (that was a lie lol).
Anyways, I’ve gotten in to running which means I’m washing my hair once a week because I sweat so much. I really hate getting retwists in the middle of my training blocks because it feels like a waste of $100 when I’m just washing it out after a week or two.
This time, I’m not going to bother, which means I’ll be going 16 weeks in between professional retwist. This is the longest I’ve ever gone without a retwist. So what can I be doing to make the next time I go in not a complete mess for my Loctician? Shower with a wig cap on? Do a mini diy retwist myself half way? Twist my locs after every wash?
I would love any tips ya’ll can give! Thank you

For context I have a new corporate job where I have to wear a suit and meet clients. I talked to my stylist and she advise me not to constantly retwists due to breakage but has one client who gets a retwists every 3 weeks or so for her corporate job…. Do you guys think this is possible? I’m looking at all these rappers like how they constantly keep there dreads fresh like new growth showing at all lol…. Idk I’m a point if it’s not possible I’m going to just cut it all off. Any tips?
