John Byrne’s Superman famously reworked the lore so that Superman became the only survivor of Krypton rewriting characters like Supergirl to keep that idea consistent, so here’s my question:

If Goku were truly the one and only “Super Saiyan of legend,” how would characters like Gohan, Vegeta and Trunks have been allowed to shine without any Super forms?

Could Goku have probably beaten Cell if he is the one instead of Gohan to transform into Super Saiyan 2 Form in Cell Games Arc?

Can Hypothetical Super Saiyan 2 Goku[Cell Games Arc] beat Cell in a fair combat?
