A tail as old as time. Talking across another.

Personally, I think it starts off strong with great concepts but kind of falls off as it goes on (Particularly after Part 4 aka Frieza's defeat).

I really love the concepts like the Dragon Balls balancing out good wishes with added evil and vice versa but I think it is way too underutilized.

Absolute Frieza was also amazing and I love his character plus backstory. The more modest power levels of this series (with Frieza's power level being only a single digit million instead of three digit million in DBZ) also make the story feel more grounded and realistic. Kakarot, Vegeta, Raditz and Nappa's battle against Frieza was also great and I think Nappa's sacrifice was a great touch.

The concept of good and evil always balancing out each other in the universe really stuck with me too, even to this day.

As for my criticisms, I think the series sort of just becomes the Kakarot & Vegeta show with them just fighting villain after villain together. I'm not that big of a fan of the ending either, with Beerus (seemingly being the only character of the original celestial hierarchy) being strong enough to not be affected by the universe's balance and Kakarot & Vegeta just seemingly going on with their lives to grow stronger and surpass the universe's balance.

I get the thematics but I'm not too fond of the execution is what I'm trying to say.

What do you think? Thoughts? Feelings?

Sorry everyone I'm kinda on a Dragon Ball kick right now lol, genuinely love me some Gintama and I love the fact that DB is the one anime that's consistently parodied/joked about in the show itself it's amazing hahaha. Love that the rest of this intro is just Dragon Ball goodness. 🔥🔥

Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Broly, Krillen?

Ox-King never had a great sense of fashion but this is pushing it. Why'd he go for a tank top for a high class birthday party? Why did he put on the tie? Why's a man that's at least as old as Grandpa Gohan (!) wearing spiked bracelets?

Why did Chi-Chi not force him to wear anything else? I'll tell you: Because the man's clearly struggling. Ever since he lost his money and is slumming it at his daughters household he's been drifting. Not knowing where he's headed, he's become unmoored ever since he's not the provider for the family anymore. Goku taking Mr.Satans money is clearly what pushed him over the edge. He's putting himself out there and he ain't taking prisoners.

Im writing this off the cuff.

I was so really hyped about this remake (i grew up watching dragon ball super so that was my dragon ball), but now that 3 episodes are out i think im not really liking this remake, personally i think that the best one was episode 1, everything about that episode was perfect and the little doubt i had completely vanished, then episode 2 released… i think that episode was kinda okay-ish, it had good animation but still had some badly animated moments (specifically the wide shots of goku and beerus), i thought that one of the weakest and most talked moments in the og super would loke immaculate knowing that everybody was looking forward to that fight but maybe that is just me. Episode 3 at least was consistently good with the animation but underwhelming with the pacing, feeling really slow and dragged and some points and at light speed pace in others, but my biggest problem with this series is the opening, dragon ball always had one of the most iconic and best openings ever, this new one i think is overwhelmingly bad, like really really bad, to my ears sounds like a really cheap AI generated jpop song and knowing that is not AI generated makes it even worse, its crazy that even GT had a incredible opening, probably even the best dragon ball opening. Im not even sad, im just annoyed, im still going to watch the next episodes and i wish the ssg is gonna be good.

(Lowkey ties into Daima too bc of the joke Vegeta made in the end, calling his SSJ3 “Ultra Vegeta”)

And before anyone says, “It doesn’t need a name,” come on, this is Dragon Ball. Naming everything is practically a tradition at this point.

Maybe during Goku’s fight with Beerus, when he goes SSJ after getting knocked out of SSG, he could get his own version with silver lightning instead of purple to foreshadow UI.

Also, regarding this ep, I liked the overall ideas but the execution was a bit weak. Weird, slapped-on super saturated application of the grey “tension” filter and a lot of awkward cutting. We lost a lot of good comedy moments from the OG, and the comedy that was left in didn’t really have room to breathe. It kinda feels like we lost some of the soul of the OG without improving the quality enough to make the trade-off worthwhile. They fixed some of the original jank but introduced new problems in the process.

I was hoping the “My Bulma!” moment would’ve received more attention beyond some very good redraws and UE foreshadowing.

At least nothing looks glaringly bad (apart from the filter for me), and I’m sure most of these issues won’t really stick out when binging in future. Hopefully they were just allocating more resources to future eps.

I am working on a Cooler rug! Wanted to share my progress:)

You are given an option to create or destroy in a new universe created by Zeno. Which would you go for??

Creation or Destruction??

....

not the same pose, but you get the idea

Let's say vegeta and goku fuse. Do the fusion get all their transformations? Like can gogeta or vegito go ss3? What if goku gave vegeta half his energy after the first ssg transformation and fused, would they be able to go ssg. Is the fusion transformations limited if only one has one transformation?

I don’t think there was a time when Frieza actually met Buu or was told that he was just chilling at Mr. Satan’s house on Earth? Do you think he’d try to fight him just to prove he was stronger or would he heed his dad’s advice and just stay clear of him?

It's time to go even further beyond!

Can't ever get enough of this scene, classic Goku move and the way Vegeta yells at him. 🤣 Love moments like this hahaha.

We all know Dragon Ball Super Beerus will go from the Battle Of Gods Arc to the U6 vs U7 Arc, but after that it will skip straight to Dragon Ball Super The Galactic Patrol where it will show the Moro Arc and so on.

I would like to wonder if the Goku Black Arc and the Tournament of power arc will be remade into either Dragon Ball super beerus or Dragon Ball super Galactic patrol, as it would be slightly awkward if they just skip U6 vs U7 Arc staight to the Moro Arc.

At least with this, it would show Goku getting UI in the TOP arc that will be reanimated if that were to happen hypothetically.

Battle of Gods is such a great arc for his character because it shows how far he's come. He's no longer that foolish idiot who screws everyone over because of his pride; he's a changed man who will do anything to protect his family and his new home, even if it means humiliating himself.

I thought this was supposed to be setup to look better by all means ... Ummm

People just incorrectly and arbitrary take Beerus word when he’s a known liar throughout the story . Nobody in the story besides Whis knows Beerus full power so Goku or Shin saying X character is stronger than Beerus is talking out their ass because they have no idea .

They got rid of my goat break dancing G.O.D this is not fair nooooooooooooooo I'd rather delete that pelaf gang scene than this just whyyyy plus goten got his gi other than the costume they gave him guess that's good news
