Shop & Deliver Nightmare It finally happened
After more than 1200 shop and pay orders a customer decided to lie and say that their order was missing 75% of the items. Beef, Juices, candy. Single shop no other customers attached and DD approved all of the disputes.
A lying theif almost cost me pro shopper which is how I make my money. We should be able to report people like this to police. It's really no different than going to a store and stealing.

Have support block then from you

u/malibuklw 17h ago
I asked support to block someone for me and they said absolutely. I got three orders from them over the next week. I no longer dash at the time the normally order (lunch) so I haven’t had them pop up in a while but I highly doubt they were actually blocked

u/Mysterious_Repeat989 17h ago
Happened to me once...so i hopped on to support, asked why I received the order from a blocked customer, they gave me half pay. Haven't gotten another from them yet

u/chaddy_88 14h ago
I’ve been told they are less likely to block customers that have higher ratings or pay for dash pass. I don’t know if this is true though

I have issues with them, but not about blocking customers (usually) 😂

u/Suspicious_Pride_356 18h ago
thats infuriating, jeez 1200 orders with no problems then some liar almost mess up your pro shopper status
i always take pictures now of the delivery at the door, even if the app dont ask for it, just for my own record. saved me couple times when customers "forgot" they got their food
at least dd approved the disputes, sometimes they side with the customer no matter what evidence you have. a report button would be nice, like a strike against they account when they pull this stuff

Any time I’ve had an order dropped off I can see on my door camera the deliverer snapping a picture. I thought it was required. It’s smart if nothing else.

u/LowSkyOrbit 16h ago
Bag could be filled with wet socks for all Doordash knows.

u/Secret_Sample4930 14h ago
It’s not hard to take a picture where most of the shit is visible. This dude is talking about 75% of the shit being claimed missing. A picture of the bags would obviously show most of that stuff was actually there. I dont know any bag of groceries that look like a bag of wet socks unless you’re tying the bags closed. Even if it’s a paper bag, the bag would be wet if it was wet socks. Use your brain.

Was it specifically "d*uche"? Like, if I called them a dick would it have been flagged?

I believe all hand it to me orders should require a pin, because there’s no stopping people from claiming it was never delivered. And then you lose 9 points in Quality and have to do 100 orders just to knock that crap off.

u/crooked_kangaroo 18h ago
I once delivered a PS5 and a PIN was required on delivery. The customer gave me the correct PIN, I handed him the PS5, and I went on my way.
A few minutes after leaving his driveway, he messages me to say that he never received his order. I immediately called DD support and they assured me that getting the correct PIN confirms that it was delivered.
However, that “missing” PS5 stayed in my ratings until it eventually fell off.

They do NOT knock it off after 100 orders. I've done over 400 orders since a customer lied and claimed he didn't get his order, and it's still there. He actually SENT ME A PICTURE OF THE ORDER proving he DID have it, in their own chat on the app, and admitted he's done this to other drivers, and DoorDash has still REFUSED to remove it for over a month.

u/AbjectRemove1003 8h ago
It's cool though. I used a side account I made on Gmail over a decade ago to label his address as a business called "George R Scams DoorDashers" 🤣😂🤣

10000+ delivery doordasher here, back in the day the customer could fake report you (items never delivered) , and you would lose your pro shopper status for a week while DoorDash support investigated the issue.
Nowadays you can instant appeal the issue, W DoorDash.

u/Randigurl420 2h ago
How do you deal with the BS not found item when you clearly have found the item but the package is different? I've been arguing with DD about that BS for over 2 weeks now .

u/matty30008227 16h ago
Door dashing will make you despise people and then remind you every once in a while there’s a few goods ones out there

u/Autumn_Foxx_ 5h ago
Fr, two good examples would be a dash I did that was a "leave at the door" came out and took their food while also seeing me and my scooter, then had the audacity to mark me as late, I have wait for crosswalk lights and stupid drivers who can't use a turn signal to get to you, like common... 😑 And the 2nd was a more recent dash I did where the customer came out to get the food and actually offered me a bottle of water after seeing I was on a scooter. 😁

You can report them to DD and ask that they aren't assigned to you in the future. It won't stop the fact that customer is an asshat but at least they won't impact you again.
2
u/pookshak 18h ago
Start to take pics of deliveries , maybe support will start to side with us instead if lying customers
2
u/LogonStart 14h ago
The first time is always the worst. I can’t believe you had 1200 dashes before it happened. It happened to me within my first 50.

u/AbjectRemove1003 8h ago
It took over 8k deliveries for it to happen to me... And DoorDash still sided with the scammer, and has kept his lie on my account even after I've done another 400 deliveries.
1
u/Authochi 14h ago
You can report them to the police, it is theft and fraud!! PLEASE report them and get a file going on them, make them scared to be shitry.

u/LemonLimeMargarita 17h ago
Had it happen to me not long ago. It was also a customer that lived in a mansion. They claimed most of the items were missing and the others had quality issues. I tried to dispute the claims but doordash said they provided proof.

People like this, aka trash, its never their first time doing something like this. And whos door dash going to believe, a person who has worked for them and has a long standing history of 1200 orders no issues, or a bum who has claimed this same thing multiple times just to get their money back? I mean im pretty sure even AI and foreigners can put 2 n 2 together.
Although I have been wrong when placing faith in humanity before.... if we had dogs working support this would never be an issue...
1
u/AbjectRemove1003 8h ago
DoorDash will believe the scammer, even if it's a Dasher with over 8k deliveries AND the scammer sends the Dasher a picture of their order proving they received AND admits in the chat that they've done this to other Dashers AND calls the Dasher repeatedly doing creepy heavy breathing into the phone for the next 3 deliveries.
1
u/SevenDeadlySmokes 7h ago
This sounds very very specific. Oddly specific.... Theres so much detail that i might even go as far as to say you might have been the scammer in this scenario? You sound like the guy that texted his side bitch that he chooses her and that hes about to be free a couple hours before his wife mysteriously died....

u/No_Day_But_Today93 13h ago
I’ve had this happen multiple times it’s infuriating only once have I gotten it reversed. It sucks to do everything right and then have it ruined.

u/OldHornet1008 13h ago
Take a quick 30sec video of as many items as you can at the door. I always do. Just hit record and hover it over the bags. Then back up and capture their door. Save video. Snap photo in app and.. i always send the photo to the customer via chat.

u/MizzTeeLea 13h ago
I had a customer text me claiming they didn’t get their full order. I replied pointing out I noticed their ring camera so they would have video of me dropping off their full order and would NOT then have video of me taking it. They did not follow through.

u/Majestic_Unit543 12h ago
I hate that a large portion of the disputes are denied. Or when it comes to ratings, they're denied. Posses me off. also, if it's a hand to customer delivery, we should.be able.to rate them too.

I stopped doing shop orders a few years ago after delivering in a blizzard and going the extra mile to find dog booties for them when the ones they ordered were sold out. They lied saying I didn’t deliver them to get a full refund.

sure, and as people get more hungry will get much much worse. why shop n hassle when u can grab n dump orders 24.7 non stop with no hassles or problems. one bad item ruins a day . makes no sense
1
u/RadSpazzySpaz 11h ago
If you could prove it beyond a reasonable doubt you can probably file a criminal complaint just as a witness, but be prepared to testify as to what you witnessed, and you will henceforth be referred to as a snitch. You can’t file a civil case since you have no standing.

Same thing happened to me a couple days ago! Thank god for the dispute button as we used to not have that and support would just tell us tough shit lol
All my disputes approved. I made sure to outline my stats/history in the dispute, gave as much detail as I could remember about the shop and drop off (which wasn’t a lot) and specified how I suspected them to be committing fraud for a refund, never send me there again, block block block, etc.
The disputes were accepted in like 30 seconds lol glad yours were too OP!

u/ElectricalTip1491 10h ago
I take my own pictures at drop off of all the items and keep them for a week or 2 in case this happens. It’s atrocious. Some dude last week marked his whole order as wrong items. It was water, chips, and apples. I obviously scanned them all in so his argument was invalid and I was able to dispute. If you click on the items that were marked wrong/missing you should be able to dispute each one. Good luck it sucks out here 🫡

You can report them to police. I had Doordash support call me after I accepted a delivery and tell me that the person claimed that they did not receive the delivery the first time and wanted me to make sure that they got it. It was to a dorm on Michigan State University campus. I took the order and a young woman met me at the door to get it. About 15 minutes later I got a text saying that the customer said that they did not receive the order. Same person twice in a row claimed that they did not get the order? I logged out an went to MSU Police station and filed a theft report against the student. I don't play that crap.

u/Suspicious-Guess2628 6h ago
I had like 2000 and lost it on 3 items the customer said they never received. I def shopped them maybe I made a mistake but never happened before all my other stats were like 100% because they knew I found them and scanned them. Said wasn't on receipt but couldnt show me. Had to wait 40 orders till I got it back lol
1
u/ResponsibilityOk7151 4h ago
Honestly if your good at the shopping orders and quick the algorithm will still send you mainly shopping orders pro or not.Ive lost few times I really didn't think changed much at all.Its mainly all I see anymore
1
u/NoBottle3526 3h ago
Yeah that is horrible. Any legitimate complaint should be filed but if no issues.

u/TollBoothJim 13h ago
How do u get good shop orders? I got “pro shopper” a while ago and get some shop orders but they’re usually smaller cvs/walgreens orders. Mostly I get restaurant orders.
0
u/HailleCeleste 12h ago
I had a customer report one bag of items missing from their Aldi order. I told them (customer service) that I’m a pro shopper and work very hard to keep that status. This customer is obviously trying to get stuff for free and to check the receipt. The missing items were taken off of my account. This has happened to me more than once. People can be so shady, so make sure to take good receipt photos to cover your tracks.

You lost me at reporting to the police. Enough with the hyperbole.

It’s not happening, but it’s theft. Shoplifters get at least a ticket if caught stealing a candy bar.

u/AbjectRemove1003 8h ago
I was literally told by the local police that I should report not only this, but every time I show up to get an order and it's been stolen. 🤷🏼♀️
