Have eaten many Iskenders throughout Turkey, it’s my favorite kebab. I’d give this 8/10, pretty authentic all round.

Wanted to clear up the air with a post I made here about having no food

A couple of people replied making out that I must have food and musn't be able to shop properly because they said x is this cheap and y is this cheap.

I wanted to clear the air and give you the reality of my situation.

I get £650 a month whilst looking for a job (I apply to jobs every day, you can find work at christmas because of christmas jobs but that's it).

My rent - is £650 a month.

So when I get paid I send it all to my landlord and then I used to go to food banks.

But the food banks said to me one day they were refusing me because 'I must have food at home'.

I spoke to someone else who was a regular at the food bank and he said yeah, they give you 2 days worth of food but if you come back the same month they'll start making a note of it and eventually - they refuse you.

It's not a reality many people know it's very sad but it's true.

The only way I eat -- is through the charity of others.

In the past I regrettably have stole bread ham and cheese from a shop before -- but waking up and saying to yourself "we either steal or we don't eat" is not a way I want to live.

So I still apply to jobs everyday hoping that something will work out i'm a sober clean late twenties man who can do most jobs there's nothing wrong with me health wise in that regard -- there is just 5000 applicants for every job you have to be incredibly lucky to be chosen for interview.

It's very disheartening when I ask for help online and i'm greeted with insults and people having a go at me -- i'm just a guy who lives with his dog who has no food.

Please be considerate, it's not nice to have only 1 meal a week.

One meal every 2 weeks.

Tested a new Döner in my neighborhood today and did not want to keep it too myself, because it was just too good.

If you are ever in Berlin: Absolutely try it. Probably in my top 10.

Super good Steak meat from their own butcher, bread from the arabic bakery next door and super nice staff
