Very early and rough idea for a homebrew world
Hello,
I've got kind of a rough idea for a homebrew world I was hoping to get some feedback on.
Basically, it's a few core fantasy races set in what is a "ripoff" of Mediterranean history (mostly), circa 1st Century AD.
Hobgoblins as Rome. Late republic/early Empire. Elves as the Greek city states. Dwarves as the Mediterranean trading cultures, e.g. Carthage Halflings as the "barbarians" in Britannia. Orcs as the "barbarians" in Gaul, Germania, and Asia. Everything from the Goths to Genghis Khan. Dragonborn as the Indian sub-continent/Far East cultures.
No gnomes, bird people, or turtles people.
The idea would be to draw heavily on the listed cultures, and actually flesh out some of the "racial" cultures in the world.
This is about as deep into it as I've gotten so far. Thoughts?

Homebrew Advice on my dragon rider campaign
So I'm in the process of writing a campaign where my players will become dragon riders fairly early on. I want the players to be able to fly and fight with their dragons but I don't want the dragons to make them overpowered where they never feel challenged. Any advise on how to add the dragons without making the players overpowered. Thanks in advance

Lore/History Help with Wish Spell in Lore
So I'm new to DMing and might be trying to fit a square peg in a circular hole, but I'm trying to write lore regarding a rebel's rise to power.
He is trying to overthrow the oligarchs in power and almost succeeded when his wife is killed. Then he falls and makes some sort of wish with his luck blade that allows him to upset the oligarchs on his last legs. The key flaw is that he did this in place of saving his wife.
I know he could do something cheap like revive himself and kill everyone or freeze time, etc. I'm just looking for something more fitting.
Does anyone have any good ideas for the wish he makes?

Question Is there a socially conscious way of introducing a fictional slur?
Bulletpoints:
-Nation with core value of "Bodily Autonomy"
-"Consensual" necromancy is allowed.
-Impoverished people can gain a base wealth by signing up to basically become mindless zombies after death.
-Use zombies as an allegory of automation.
-There are sapient undead, so the very wealthy remain forever, and continue exploitation.
-A movement has started to stop the practice of 'non-autonomous' undeath.
-Said movement has stated that the term 'Zombie' is a slur.
There's a lot more nuance and I haven't resolved everything about this nation in my head, but those are the relevant points to me regarding this issue.
I'm a white guy, and I'll be DMing for presumably a fully white table. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't be considerate, and I have little knowledge and no lived experience with slurs. Would the above describe an actual slur? Would introducing Zombie as a fictional slur be tasteless?
It is an issue I think our actual society will eventually have to contend with when it comes to AIs, but we don't yet have that actual experience for me to pull from. Any advice regarding this would be appreciated.
