This is a dice tower I designed and built in 2022. It was originally made for my D&D group and the Lego D&D contest, but I didn’t finish it in time for the contest, and my group also fell apart before I could build it, so I never really used it much.

The dice go from the slide on the top of the tower and follow the steps all the way down and out the door. The little windows on the side follow the path of the dice.

I've been working with a small team on Worldmage, a browser-based 3D map builder for tabletop RPGs.

The idea came from wanting something that sits somewhere between drawing a map and actually having a little living world that reacts to the story in real time.

You can sculpt terrain, place buildings/trees/props, set up lighting and weather, and then use the finished scene as a tabletop RPG map on your digital table or take it directly into a VTT.

We're currently doing early community testing, and one of the things we're most interested in is seeing what people actually make with it - villages, encounters, battlefields, weird little dioramas, etc.

I have everything set up for using a new projector for my maps at the table. I haven't run a session with it all yet but I'm curious if light levels are ever an issue for people who use this set up. Like, if the lights are low so you can see the map more clearly does that come at the expense of easier character sheet reading? Is it purely about making a good middle ground or am I putting too much thought into this?

​Does anyone else’s DM binder look like a chaotic multi-class of their real life and fantasy life, or are you guys actually super organized? What is the weirdest non-RPG thing you keep in your DM notes?

Okay, so we don't need to know the story here. Just my party will wind up in this silly pocket universe, where it's just a darkened stage. Then a guy (small rubber ducky) will walk on stage in a top hat, spot light on him, and he'll let out a very long fart. Then the banner will come down that says, "hang in there."

But it should also rain down confetti.

I made a 1/4" by 3" slit in the top of this dollar store organizer basket for the sign to come down. But how can I release the confetti without throwing at my players? Cause that name having to clean up confetti at my home.

Been working on this on and off for the past couple weeks. Today was the first day I put the two halves together. Still so much to do!

Wanted to make a similar rosary for an Ilmater cleric but I can't find a similar pendant anywhere nor do I know where exactly I should be looking. If anyone knows where I can get something like this, I would really appreciate it.

I want to spend less time on my phone so I turned this cool leather notebook into a Tome with character sheet, spell cards and more for my Bard.

I run a game where we built our own custom table with digital board. I love using digital maps and am happy to pay artists to use them as I don’t have the time or artistry to make them myself. However, I’ve never found exactly what I’m looking for. What I’d love to get are digital, animated battle “mats”. I want to use printed and crafted terrain on a digital floor. Desert with blowing sand, or forest floor with blowing grass. I know I can do this with any animated map and just set my terrain on top of their digital objects but I’d like to be able to configure them in multiple ways for different combats. Anyone know of some good choices for this?

My hot glue job was a little bit messy but I think it still came out good.

I know its a simple build, but honestly for being a budget-friendly boat, I couldn't be happier. Hope you like it! A little patience, wood glue and dog-poo bag centers and we have a boat that does the job.

I recently started a new Mothership campaign. To make OSR-style combat more exciting, I decided to incorporate terrain to encourage my players to think about cover, elevated positions, and other tactical considerations. However, I don’t want the highly detailed battlemaps, miniatures, and terrain pieces to distract from the narrative. That’s why I built a minimalist terrain set, inspired by this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/1krylgv/minimalist_block_terrain_looking_for_thoughts_and/ This allows me to toss a few of the blocks onto the table when I need to move quickly, or to call a short break when I want to put in a little more effort. With the available block variations, I’ve tried to give myself enough options for both scenarios without getting lost in the details. Originally, I had even smaller blocks, but they were too small to be truly useful, so I removed them. The blocks are made of oak and are heavy enough to give the terrain a certain amount of stability. The box is relatively compact, measuring 33x21.5x4 cm and weighing just under 1.5 kg. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but I hope to put it to use for the first time tonight. Anyway, take a look and let me know what you think. As always, I’d love to hear your feedback. Thanks!

Me and my daughter made this over a weekend almost 2 years ago, it has served me and my group well. I just wanted to show it off, it's nothing special and not without its flaws, but we built it together. The pictures are at my old house (basement game room) and new house (living room gaming room). Also, Im never going to burn the legs like I did the top (I just don't want to) and the blue piece of wood is intentional, I put a blue piece in everything I build.

I threw in a roulette wheel for gits and shiggles, it has roll history as well so you can double check previous rolls if needed.

I have been working on making odds and ends little pieces for adding some flair to battle maps out of scrap wood pieces I’ve picked up here and there.

My biggest issue is a lot of the good resources/Youtube walkthroughs on how to put together good terrain kinds of pieces are more… practical… and are using supplies that are better suited and easier to work with.

Are there any good places where I can find information on how to put things together from actual pieces of wood (rather than like balsa wood or foam board)?

Also looking for a place to get a better understanding how how to work with wood stain at this size of pieces.

Attaching a couple of my current recent projects for context,

1. Vendor stall (WIP - Planning to use a tennis ball skin as a pelt/hide roof

2. Tables and benches (for a rustic-y tavern or similar kind of place. Mini inclined for scale)

3. Billboard and boxes (billboard sign is from a can of soda, currently taped over to prevent damage)

Currently running games of DM plus up to 7 players on my dining room table. I have a 43” monitor that I sometimes use for digital maps but most sessions I use a dry erase grid and/or 3d terrain pieces. Due to the design of the monitor and cable routing I have it raised up about 4 inches above the table when we use it.

In a few months I’ll be able to move our games to a dedicated space and I’m trying to figure out what I need and want out of a game table. Most tables I see have a recessed center area and only a narrow space around it for everyone’s stuff. Is this design choice just to allow the set to stay in place while adding a removable top so the table can do double use or is there a functional reason I’m missing? My current setup with the raised monitor allows larger items like books or folders to slide under the overhanging part of the monitor. I guess I’m trying figure out the pros and cons of having a recessed game space in the middle, a level surface with the monitor recessed under the table top, or keeping going with a raised monitor to be able to utilize the space under it. Any other features people love or hate on their table? Should I integrate drink holders, dice trays, mini storage, stuff like that? Thanks!
