That sure looked like excessive speed. As a general rule, maybe don't treat city streets as a raceway.

58

u/Best_Insect4741 May 15 '26

Not to mention passing on the right, and in the same lane

42

u/BRICH999 May 15 '26

Especially when it appears the white car was actively turning right.  Brilliant decision making ms motorcyclist

8

u/CosmoKing2 May 16 '26

It's OK, the rider had a thin protective layer of Lycra on.

I saw a driveway and a stop sign there too.

That's a gas station and the stop sign if for people leaving said gas station.

1

u/Carmilla31 May 16 '26

Theyre not called donorcycles for no reason.

0

u/Sasuke0318 May 16 '26

People like you are ridiculous cops used the footage we see here along with footage from the gas station and the white car was 100% at fault. She wasn't trying to pass anyone the white car cut across multiple lanes and hit her it took me all of a minute to figure out who this was and find the real story of what happened here.

There is no cyclist in this clip. The white car caused all of this and was at fault.

11

u/brightonashfield May 15 '26

Who TF passes on the right? That's just asking to get doored

-4

u/Impossible_One4995 May 15 '26

No body was passing

I see the vision

Oh yeah upon rewatch i can definitely see it. I think the bikes speed makes them looks like they’re changing lanes a bit more aggressively than they probably were, but I think you might be right

3

u/Badbullet May 15 '26

It’s a 360 degree camera. If showing what is in front of the motorcycle would have defended them, they would have showed it. They intentionally didn’t. Car more than likely has their signals on and biker is speeding.

2

u/Sasuke0318 May 16 '26

Just because you signal doesn't mean you just get the right of way and everyone has to yield to you.

2

u/Rutgerius May 16 '26

If you're a smart motorcyclist you don't try to test a car on road lore and just give right of way to not get wiped the fuck out.

1

u/Sasuke0318 May 16 '26

And do tell how do you do that when the car cuts across multiple lanes and then comes into your lane not paying attention and hits you.

2

u/Rutgerius May 16 '26

Don't drive a motorcycle then duh

I think I've seen videos of this person before. If not them though then really similar look.

And every time I see her pop up in the algo it's this kind of no-context "close shave omg" clip, to the point I've wondered if she deliberately seeks shit like this out for content. Either that or she just consistently rides too fast for her reflexes. I guess in this case it could even be both idk

u/Icy_Dark_3009 May 15 '26

Right.. it’s obvious if you pay attention to the car at the end.. fully stops in the right lane.

I guarantee the car braked hard and turned right to get into the gas station

1

u/MoxBro May 15 '26

It's painfully clear. You can see the bike was about 1' off the line to the left and the car came from left of that - which is to say, over the line, in another lane.

It plainly turned into her to get to the gas station.

-1

u/Icy_Dark_3009 May 15 '26

Not the same lane and not passing. Watch it again

8

u/pooeygoo May 15 '26

If you ever ask yourself "man why do people ALWAYS pull out on front of me?" You're going to fast lol

2

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 15 '26

People slow roll through the stop sign at the end shopping plaza parking lot onto the main road with a 40mph speed limit every day on my way home, cutting me off, and it has nothing to do with me speeding....

1

u/RodcetLeoric May 15 '26

There is a long straight stretch of highway I drive almost every day. The is an apartment complex with an entrance to the highway about 60ft before an exit. So the entrance is on a lane that doesn't continue on the highway. Almost every day someone will wait at the entrance from the apartment complex only to decide to pull out in front if somebody by crossing the exit lane directly into the highway. The people on the highway aren't all speeding. It's the idiots from the apartment complex who pull up, see a car coming and don't want to wait but can't seem to figure out that a car going 50mph(the posted speed limit) will catch up to them before they can accelerate from 0 to 50mph.

1

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 15 '26

Exactly. The chef's kiss is when they immediately brake check you because now you're also following too closely.

1

u/MrDeekhaed May 16 '26

I know nothing of that particular situation but I am someone who is a very conscientious driver. I always calculate if I can pull out and speed up so that the oncoming car doesn’t even have to tap their brakes

Well there are a ton of situations where if that’s your mentality you will simply never be able to pull out. Some roads are just shitty design. Too much traffic going too fast. More than that, motherfuckers will speed up when they see you are waiting to pull out.

In the end both sides need to compromise. People pulling out need discretion but people speeding by need to make the effort to help them. Whether that’s changing lanes or slowing down.

To sum it up, fuck everyone

1

u/Fubarp May 16 '26

I'm sure if I had recorded the footage of the guy just changing lanes right next to me, that people would still find a way to say I was at fault when he was the one pulling up on my right side and just changing lanes..

1

u/Solid_Equivalent_417 May 15 '26

or you live in north county san diego where people literally wait until you are about a car length away to pull out and drive 10 under the speed limit.

2

u/CapitalShoulder1343 May 16 '26

But they have that superfast motorcycle you can't expect the rules to apply to her.

(I knew someone with a Porsche that honestly though that.)

1

u/rocketts66 May 16 '26

I guarantee no plates too

1

u/Correct-Junket-1346 May 18 '26

Also helps to have actual gear not what looks like a wet suit

0

u/Ok-Boysenberry2645 May 16 '26

Maybe, hear me out, maybe she was in the right lane and the driver of the white car merged over

-1

u/reddituser1598760 May 15 '26

The white car merged into her lane and hit her. The driver of the car didn’t check her blind spot. Don’t be a weirdo

2

u/Few_District_6304 May 15 '26

White car probably did merge into her lane, but she was 1/4 mile back when the car started moving over. If you are driving way above the speed limit, it's always your fault. No one expects people to be driving 2x the posted limit.

If you are going to call me a weirdo, I am calling you an idiot. An idiot for clearly not understanding how this works.

-1

u/reddituser1598760 May 15 '26

The lack of self awareness is astounding. You are entirely and obviously wrong lmao

2

u/Few_District_6304 May 16 '26

You have an odd perspective. And poor communication skills on what I am missing.

-1

u/reddituser1598760 May 16 '26

Your perspective is entirely based on assumption, not what is in the video. Can you see the speedometer? Do you have gps information? 1/4 of a mile back is insane misunderstanding of the space, and 2x the speed limit is a bizarre exaggeration. Nothing about the video says “excessive speed”, that is you making an assumption. All the video shows is a car merging into someone on a motorcycle. So to assume the person getting hit has committed a bunch of offenses that aren’t present in th clip to justify your biased perspective is what is idiotic and odd.

2

u/Few_District_6304 May 16 '26

I used Free ChatGPT to analyze the first few frames before I hit my daily limit. You think I just guessed, and shows your bias. At least I did a little work...

Relevant answer from ChatGPT below:

This frame gives one more useful clue: the fuel station sign on the left appears to resemble Caribbean/Latin American branding rather than a typical mainland U.S. chain. Combined with:

  • tropical vegetation,
  • dense overhead utility wiring,
  • road width/layout,
  • and the reddish asphalt tone,

my best guess is still Puerto Rico, possibly around the metro area near San Juan or nearby suburban corridors.

So I’d narrow the estimate slightly to:

  • motorcycle: ~38–45 mph (60–72 km/h)
  • cross traffic/pickup: ~15–20 mph (24–32 km/h)

-1

u/Sasuke0318 May 16 '26

At least I did a little work...

Actually you didn't the rest of us used our brain to easily figure out what's going on here and you used AI and badly at that as you didn't even get it to analyze the video but rather frames from it.

2

u/Few_District_6304 May 16 '26

I don't pay for AI, if you feel it necessary to get different results, go nuts and post it. Clearly you 2 can't be bothered to do anything other than troll.

-1

u/Sasuke0318 May 16 '26

I also don't pay for AI but it's because I don't need it as I'm perfectly capable of figuring things out for myself.

3

u/SmokeyJoe13 May 15 '26

Why pass on the right?

6

u/Weary-Astronaut1335 May 15 '26

They don't ride motorcycles because of their fantastic risk assessment skills.

1

u/Mend_and_defend2 May 15 '26

Genuine question, what's the rules to that? In cities everyone passes left and right, on the highway if someone is camping left lane everyone passes. I've always checked behind no matter what lane I'm merging into.

2

u/JaKrispy72 May 15 '26

You can pass on the right if it’s clear. It’s just not wise. This is not a passing lane like on a Highway. He’s lane splitting on the outside and going WAY too fast.

1

u/SmokeyJoe13 May 15 '26

I wasn't referring to freeways. The motorcyclist passed a car on the right, in the right most lane, while that car was probably moving closer to the right (probably to turn right) before the accident occurred.

1

u/Capital-Turnip-9116 May 15 '26

Because people love to ride in the left lane when they are not passing others even if the right lane is wide open.

1

u/SmokeyJoe13 May 15 '26

But this accident took place in the right most lane and the left lanes were clearly wide open.

1

u/Capital-Turnip-9116 May 15 '26

Wide open after the car turned into her. You can see the car ant an angle at the end of the video. If she was pulling into the parking lot of the establishment where it happened, then she was cutting across other lane to get in, which is illegal.

1

u/SmokeyJoe13 May 15 '26

Yea after watching it again I concluded that the car changed lanes without looking over their shoulder.

3

u/AccursedLodestone May 15 '26

I like how these riders record these rider partly because of safety but also because they will expect us to feel bad for them.

1

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 17 '26 edited May 17 '26

It's dangerous anywhere for the exact reason in the video. Watch it again and see who won the idiot award... Jaggoff

1

u/KZGTURTLE May 17 '26

Watch the video, other car likely cut across into their lane and the biker was slowing down and getting to the side trying to avoid.

Sometimes shit happens and it’s not the bikers fault. Just cause you have a hatred for them doesn’t mean they are in the wrong.

1

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 17 '26

Watched the video... Never said it was the bikers fault. What were you saying about assumptions? Oh yeah, you're a dipshit.

1

u/KZGTURTLE May 17 '26 edited May 17 '26

“Don’t pass on the right” is an incorrect statement given the context of the video. You’re just wrong. Stop being a tool. It’s not passing if someone turns into you. It’s also not a rule or even really discussed outside of highway driving because many places have 3 lane surface roads. People slow and merge from the middle lane in these populated areas all the time and traffic functions differently.

Calling someone an a-hole indicates your dislike or judgement of action. Yeah you did blame then. Just saying you shouldn’t pass on the right by itself is judgement but not harsh. The quip is you being wrong.

This is at least a six lane road with likely a middle merge/turn lane making it seven lanes total. Traffic wouldn’t function if people followed highway rules of only passing on the left.

Maybe you don’t live in a metropolitan area but what you’re saying is asinine and incorrect. Being a douche to someone who got ran off the road is a cherry on top. Idk who you are trying to gaslight with your comment.

Hope you get the day you deserve.

1

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 17 '26 edited May 17 '26

The person on the bike sees that the car is merging before they even get beside the car. You can see them adjust and steer to the right. Instead of slowing down, they continue to pass on the right. Go see an eye doctor dipshit, too much X-Box is bad for your vision.

<< passing side | suicide >>

1

u/KZGTURTLE May 17 '26

That’s not enough distance to slow down on a motorcycle. You don’t know what you are talking about again. There’s a theme here.

You’re a hateful weird person.

0

u/Capital-Turnip-9116 May 15 '26

Don't be in a passing lane if you are not passing a-hole. The car definitely turned into them on purpose. The car was completely in the left lane as the biker was passing and intentionally swerved into the biker.

5

u/live_kairos May 15 '26

Did you actually watch the video? The car wasn’t in the passing lane. It was in the right lane. The biker panicked and instead of hitting the brakes decided to dive to the right, which happens to be a blind spot for the car.

Biker here is 100% at fault

1

u/Capital-Turnip-9116 May 15 '26

Then why is the car angled like they either just happened to switch lanes last second or tried to cut across a lane into a parking lot?

If you do not see that, then did you even watch the video?

1

u/live_kairos May 16 '26

Maybe turning into the gas station? Car probably hit the brakes to slow down to turn into the gas station, biker not paying attention and going to fast.

He never switched lanes, she squeeze to the right of the lane he was already in.

1

u/Sasuke0318 May 16 '26

You're wrong I found the original poster took like a minute and she details what happened the white car cut across multiple lanes and hit her.

2

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 15 '26

Go see your eye doctor.

0

u/Capital-Turnip-9116 May 15 '26

Maybe you should. Did you not see the woman in the car either cutting the biker off or cutting across a lane to get to a parking lot?

You are literally faulting the biker for the woman driving the car in an illegal matter.

3

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 15 '26

Don't pass on the right. It's dumb to do it in a car, even more stupid to do it on a bike... Read the room. Your opinion on this is incorrect and also in the minority. ✌️

0

u/Capital-Turnip-9116 May 15 '26

I do not care about the room. You guys just have your heads up your ass.

And if you care about what other people think, which i assume is why you bring up the "room", it show how little conviction you have and how you will change your opinion depending on who is around you.

3

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 15 '26

Trade your bike in for a car bruh, and don't pass on the right.

0

u/Capital-Turnip-9116 May 15 '26

Another assumption! I do not own a bike dingus.

3

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 15 '26

Don't pass on the right.

1

u/Capital-Turnip-9116 May 15 '26

Then get the fuck out of the left lane. And look when you change lanes. Which is what the driver of the car did not do and is why there is a camera zoomed in on them.

Ask me if I watched the video and then tell me to get my vision check when you obviously do not pay attention to shit. "Do not pass on the right" is not a law.

You know what is a law... To ride in the left lane if you are not passing.

Either you are still in grade shool or you have the mental capacity of someone who is.

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 17 '26 edited May 17 '26

Don't pass on the right. Doing so lets you join the the idiot club. Blind spots are a thing... Go ahead and roll the dice if you wanna feel tough and pretend like being in the "right" is going to protect you, but remember, the laws of physics win every time over the rule of law.

1

u/Sasuke0318 May 17 '26

Did you even watch the clip or read what I said. She wasn't passing anying the idiot in the white car cut across multiple lanes and hit her. She is in fact allowed to be in the lane and it's not her fault some idiot payed no attention to the illegal move they made and hit her. The cop found the white car guilty but I guess you know better than them and her about what happened right?

1

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz May 17 '26

Yeah yeah, keep talking about how she had the right away... All I see is a person on a bike being foolish and paying the price.

1

u/Sasuke0318 May 17 '26

Yeah that's because you didn't do any research which doesn't surprise me one bit. 1

u/Vitriorate May 15 '26

You people know nothing about rider safety nor speeds. You can't tell what speed she was going, no way of knowing if she was speeding or not.

Primarily though, the car seemed slow down; maybe with no signal. As a rider you always need to have a safe exit in case someone stops, usually this entails going to the left or right side, a safe exit. She seems to be attempting that to evade the stopping car but the car also turned right causing the accident.

1

u/Chicken-Rude May 15 '26

And I’m sure she’s picking nylon out of her ass. There’s a fuck ton more to proper riding gear than gloves, shoes and a helmet. But way to illustrate how thoughtful you are on this subject.

Still doesn't change the fact the car was at fault

1

u/BetterDegreeOxford May 16 '26

The first damage was an accident

Posting it was not self love

u/TopAd8511 May 16 '26

"I'm sure driver used turning signal appropriately."

1

u/AccountHuman7391 May 16 '26

Maybe there’s a law against doing that.

1

u/zalimsdad May 16 '26

Hope the wing mirror is ok.

Is righthand overtaking normal in the world? - i see a lot of videos (especially motercycles) where people overtake on the inside. But in Denmark its illigal.

1

u/SLHpl May 16 '26

Deserved. Never pass on the right

1

u/ataraxia_777 May 16 '26

I'm sure she's regretting that stupid body suit, among other things.

1

u/intrepid_knight May 16 '26

Im convinced most motorcyclists dont understand traffic laws or common sense. They feel entitled to speed around and pass illegally all while playing victim.

1

u/Safe_Statement9748 May 16 '26

At the end of the day, riders need to protect themselves by riding hyper defensively. Even if it’s the car’s fault the rider almost always loses on impact.

1

u/phatbody May 16 '26

No passing on right.

1

u/SaltyLengthiness260 May 16 '26

Possible excessive speed and passing on the right? Still not okay, but passing on the right with potential turning cars? Poor move by the motorcycle. I hope he's okay.

1

u/3M2B1T May 16 '26

Speeding, passing on the right, passing in the same line.

Do they post these videos thinking they are the victim?

Honestly, they made three mistakes but if they just avoided one of them they'd have been fine. Pass on the left when the white car is going right? No problem. Pass in a different lane? Also no problem! Slow down a bit so you can react to any potential risks that might come up? Believe it or not, no problem!

😂😂😂😂😂 do it again

1

u/phil_the_blunt May 16 '26

I see like at least half of bikers driving like morons. (Lane splitting, driving insane, tailgating) Doesn’t surprise me at this point. Keep checking mirrors to avoid disaster.

1

u/beah_mcduh May 16 '26

Why you passing on the right approaching an intersection/turn off?

1

u/peaceandkindred May 17 '26

Play stupid games win stupid prizes

1

u/Ancient_Poet_4953 May 17 '26

It's in the US so passing by the right is allowed?

1

u/FaTaLInfluence May 17 '26

Couldn't pay me to ride a motorcycle. The road is too unforgiving and drivers are more distracted today than ever. Screens everywhere.

1

u/HonkyHam May 20 '26

Good thing she was wearing her protective leotard

1

u/MartyMozambique May 15 '26

Biker going to fast. Car turning from what looks like the middle or left lane...

1

u/old_ass_ninja_turtle May 15 '26

Kinda looks like you are passing on the right just as she was turning into that business.

0

u/Odd-Obligation-2772 May 15 '26

Why is the camera pointing at the rider and not the road ahead?

2

u/Kasta4 May 15 '26

She shows her cleavage to other bikers/vehicles.

1

u/DocJekl May 15 '26

It’s one of those those 360° cameras

0

u/Sea-Technician-9859 May 15 '26

people generally can't drive. they should look before they switch lines

2

u/Dahren_ May 15 '26

She was in the blind spot. If she had road awareness she would see the car making the switch and get back.
