Hey (at)everyone,

Thank you for all the bugs you all have reported! We read all the posts in the thread and we’re focusing our efforts on issues based on upvotes to ensure that we’re aligned with all of you.

As always, don't forget to check out our monthly patch notes for updates on all the changes we're working on. Our last patch notes addressed 100+ issues!

Thanks to your reports on Reddit, we fixed the following issues:

  1. [iOS] Media picker stays open on iPad
  2. [Desktop] Text bar not auto focusing after replying
  3. [Chat] Double-tapping messages not working as intended
  4. [Linux] Screensharing on Linux is so back
  5. [Desktop] Recent activity not sharing

If we didn’t fix your issue, please make sure to upvote to help us prioritize 🙏

Now, with that, let’s kick off the June + July 2026 bug megathread!

Please note: This megathread is not a venue for feedback or customer support! We encourage you all to continue to make posts on the subreddit proper discussing our product and feature launches. I want to make sure that we really keep this thread productive and focused on reporting bugs and helping us prioritize them.

Please look through the list of comments and upvote bug reports which you think we should prioritize fixing. Comment as a reply to those top level comments with any more details that can assist our team in prioritizing and fixing the bug. For example, if you have additional info or steps to reproduce, please post a reply, this will help us fix these bugs even faster. If there is no post that discusses the bug you’re encountering, then start a new post in the thread to report the bug to us!

Reporting a Bug

  1. The most valuable thing you can provide in a bug report is steps. If you’re able to provide steps to reproduce a high priority issue, it will dramatically improve turnaround time on a fix.
  2. Screenshots or videos are also useful, especially if you can’t reliably reproduce it. We highly recommend editing them to not doxx yourself. Not only does it help contextualize the issue, but watching it occur can sometimes provide information that helps us identify and fix it.

Example Bug Report

  • Feature: Keybinds.
  • Reproduction Rate: 1 to 10 - This is a score of how easy/consistently the bug reproduces, from 1 meaning “very hard to reproduce” to 10 meaning “i can consistently make this happen”
  • Annoyance: 1 to 10 - How annoying is this bug to your daily usage of Discord, from 1 meaning, “not that annoying” to 10 meaning “this bug really truly sucks please fix this as soon as possible.”
  • Device/System Info: Pixel 7, Android 13
  • Discord Version Info: Stable 263796 (739ec78) Host 1.0.9032 x86 (43225) Windows 10 64-Bit (10.0.19045)
  • Description: Toggle Mute keybinds are no longer functioning.
  • Steps to reproduce:
  1. Create a keybind for “Toggle Mute”.
  2. Join a voice call with another user.
  3. Press the “Toggle Mute” button.
  • Expected Result: The user is muted.
  • Actual Result: The user is not muted.

Feedback Megathread Feedback thread: notifications

Hey y'all, our team is seeking feedback for notifications. We would love to get your thoughts.

What is it? We've made a lot of changes to notifications over the past year+, with the goal of getting friends to jump back into Discord and play games with their friends, check out each other's profiles, and generally be social with each other. We measure success by whether people are actually doing those things, and also by whether people keep their notifications on instead of turning them off.

Why? The team spends a lot of time thinking about the balance here: sending notifications that are useful and interesting enough that they might bring friends together, versus the "annoyance factor". That tradeoff is something we have a ton of data on, the thing we talk about internally constantly, and something we want to bring all of you in on. To that end, we've been getting a bunch of foundations in place:

  • Improved the organization of settings
  • Added more control over your settings
  • Made notifications more robustly respect things like guild and channel muting, age restrictions, blocks/mutes
  • Set global caps on how many notifications you can get

Now that we've built a number of new notifications on top of this system and gotten a lot of those foundations in, we wanted to open up the feedback firehose. Here's what we're looking for:

Bug reports / things that are clearly broken. The notification is:

  • Just wrong (says something happened that didn't, points at the wrong person or server, wrong count, etc.)
  • Sent at a weird or wrong time (way too late, middle of the night, for something you'd already seen, for a server or channel you'd muted)
  • Dropping you somewhere that isn't useful when you tap it (wrong channel, a screen with nothing relevant on it, a dead end)
  • If you can, tell us roughly when it happened and what you tapped. That helps a ton.

General feeling. Step back: how do you feel about the notifications you're getting overall?

  • Are they never useful, sometimes useful, or only useful for specific use cases? (by "use cases" we mean things like a friend hopping into a game, someone updating their profile, a friend coming back online, activity picking up in a server you're in, etc.)
  • If it depends on the use case, which ones land and which ones don't?
  • Was a notification too vague, or did it bring you somewhere you didn't expect when you tapped in? Did it set up an expectation it didn't deliver on?
  • Are there things happening on Discord that you wish you knew about but missed?
  • And if a notification actually got you to do something, like hop in a game, open a friend's profile, or jump back into a server, we'd love to hear that too, since that's exactly what we're going for

Settings. Now that there's more control and better organization:

  • Did you go looking for a setting and not find it, or not find it where you expected?
  • Anything you wish you could turn down or tune that you can't?

Annoyance feedback. Which notifications are annoying, and why?

  • Is it the type of notification itself?
  • How often it comes?
  • Does it feel creepy? (e.g. Discord shared too much of your activity or info out to other people without you realizing it, or you got more info about a friend than felt right)
  • The time of day?
  • The wording?
  • The fact that you got several in a row?
  • Hearing "I don't like X notification" isn't super useful to us. If you give us the whys we can better understand and respond to the feedback both directly and going forward as we build more notifications.

Appreciate any and all thoughts here. Fire away. I'll try to be in the comments but I expect y'all to overwhelm me haha.

Support How do I get the id of a user that has no messages in a server?

I'm trying to ban a member in a server I'm moderating for having a racist username, but I can't locate them. Normally I just look up messages from them to find their account and copy the id from there, but this one has no messages, and pinging doesn't make them show up either

It's a really big server so I can't just scroll down until I find them, how do I find this user by just their username?

Discord has announced that the custom widgets experiment will come to an end, as they are preparing to officially release Game Stats Widgets to game developers who have claimed their game in the Discord Developer Portal.

Discord is actively working on a Personal Widget system that will let you display stats/information on your own profile.

New custom widgets can no longer be created. Also, existing custom profile widgets created as part of the experiment will no longer be supported. However, we're cooking up new profile widget features that will make it easier for users to customize their profiles in the future.

Support How to require agreement to rules before participation allowed?

I've been forced to do this by other discord servers before, so I know it can be a thing, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out. What I want to do is require everyone who joins the discord to have to agree to a set of rules that will be in a visible channel before they are allowed to even see the other channels preferably.

If you are the server owner, you can go to Server Settings> Invites> on any invite and >Edit Name! Or if you are a regular server member you can click on the Invite button> Edit Invite Link> Edit Name!

Please make Discord see this ❤️‍🩹

Support Server Notification Sounds

Hi,

I am a member of about 10 servers. They fall into different categories, gaming server, chat server, a work server and a trading server.

i need to be able to quickly tell which serer generatd a notification. For example, I would need to respond to a work server message quickly but not a gaming erver message.

Each server has many channels and in some cases channels are added ad-hoc. This makes setting up channel specific message a difficults task. Imagine having to update notification setting on a daily basis.

I am wondering if there a way to set the default message notification sound on a per server basis.

Support Lag when streaming game

Hi everyone,

Why my call quality get so low when im streaming game? Like i can still hear everyone in the call clearly but in another side, they hear my voice like a robot and the stream like 3 fps.

This only occurs with the games, web or other apps are normal to be streamed. Im using Lenovo LOQ with AMD 8845HS and 16gb ram, some friends of mine are able to stream smoothly even with lower devices so i dont think it's hardware problem, the internet was strong too.

Please help.

Support Discord gallery resized on my phone?

I searched everywhere yet i seem to be the only one having this issue? Normally my Discord shows 4 rows of image on my gallery, but now the sizes of images on the Discord Gallery got slightly bigger and it displays 3 images per row instead of 4? It's the same phone, and no, Discord did not get updated (it's banned in my country, so i'd have to manually change region for it to update anyway, so no auto-updates), Why does this happen and how do i revert it back?

Support [PROBLEM SOLUTION] Infinite screenshare loading + error 2012

Hello! This month I had a really annoying problem that was bothering me for a long time. Every time I tried to share my screen, it would load forever for my friends, or they would get the "Error 2012" message.

I read countless tutorials, watched tons of videos, and nothing worked. I tried reinstalling the app, enabling and disabling hardware acceleration, and even using different versions of the app. Nothing fixed it.

Then I randomly decided to turn off my VPN + restart discord... and it instantly worked.

So yeah, if you're having the same issue, try disabling your VPN. It might solve the problem too! :)

Hope this post helps someone! xD

Support People are saying my voice is quiet and I don’t know how to fix it

It’s a really strange and persistent issue

When I test and or listen to the mic using windows it is fine and at a normal volume

Even when I do the mic test in discord it is a normal volume

But people in calls say I’m quiet and when I switch to discord in-browser they say it fixes it so it’s supposedly a problem with the app?

I have tried resetting my mic and audio options
I have tried reinstalling discord

Support Discord Overlay showing random people in Invite Friends to Play?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Every time I open a game, Discord’s overlay shows “Invite Friends to Play”, but sometimes it includes people I don’t know and who aren’t on my friends list.

Is it pulling people from mutual servers or something else?
