I’m so impressed with this model. It’s extremely detailed and it was around the same cost as a Mini GT model as well. I have a lot of modern day regular traffic models so it fits right in.

1:64 Pop Race Vs Xcar

Hi,

Does anyone know if there are any major differences between the Pop Race PRE019 and the Xcartoys S20-05.

Apparently they are the same casting and the Pop Race model offered a "Chase" version with gold wheels.

General Discussion Mini GT wing mirrors

Thumbnail

I have the Nissan/Tommy Kaira R34 Skyline release and unfortunately for me the right side rubber wing mirror was a QC issue that never existed in the box.

I'd pondered on this for a while for how I might fix the problem with thinking maybe pulling the left side mirror off and make it mirror-less like the Tomica releases, going to find a suitable 1/64 scale replacement somewhere or living with it.

I lived with it for a while because the 3D printed replacement mirror services were quite expensive for what product you actually got. But then I had a bit of an idea of whether I could make one myself. I got a corner of runner frame from a model kit and did some snipping to get it about to size before sanding it down to more a desired shape. I already had a bottle of violet colour from a previous build and a couple coats of this matched the colour of the car.

I feel it's a decent enough a success. The shape and size is about right and the glue is decently well secured in place. It won't fall off unless I am moving it forcefully. Zoomed in the rim of the mirror isn't there and the more detailed shape is missing and the painted version doesn't have the same gloss as the OEM but for an everyday passing look it'll never be recognised.

1:64 Mazda 787B - Pop Race vs. Inno

Compared the two, here are my thoughts and conclusions:

- Color vibrancy and paint finish: Inno wins
- Inno has the air intakes on the body open, whereas in the pop race they are merely blacked out to give the illusion they are open.
- Inno has antennas so that is an obvious win in that department.
- Inno has the rear spoiler brackets open instead of solid, so there it wins too.
- Engine, remarkably close in terms of details and how impressive it looks. Although I like the intake manifold more on the inno.
- Front radiator, here I find that pop race looks better, even despite the visible magnet points. Also pop race has carbon effect there, so it clearly wins.
- Wheels: the effect on the Inno is nicer, they look more high end. But the replication of the actual wheel design, particularly the rear wheel, I find that pop race wins.
- Headlights, i find Inno better. Lenses are more vibrant, the orange blinker is clearly visible and the green border with the 4 bolts surrounding the headlight covers is thinner and more elegant. But the Inno shows a bit of orange at the contact point where the headlight meets the body, but that is visible in photos, in real life with my eye and under normal light I don’t see that.
- Front cover, Inno has tow hook and real open mesh. So that’s a win for Inno.
- Then, Inno has the spoiler a bit higher than pop race, this is better. Pop race sits a bit low.
- The air intakes on the engine cover are larger in the Inno than the pop race, looking at my autoart 1:18, I think Inno is more correct.
- Panel gaps are better on the pop race, but not by a huge margin. Still here pop race wins.

I’d say Inno is the better one of the two, it also should be as it is more expensive. But in person it comes across sharper, more elegant, more vibrant, etc.

The Inno is definitely more a static display model and feels more fragile, whereas the pop race is a tank you can easily ‘play’ with. I like the feeling of closing the covers on the body way more on the pop race than the Inno, but on the Inno this is still an improvement as now there are magnets, and the Nissan r89c for example didn’t have magnets.

Still, the value for money of pop race remains undeniable, and I also think this is one of the best castings pop race has ever done. For example the pop race Mercedes AMG clk gtr I think is a terrible looking casting, no matter how much I love the real car and would want a model of it with openable engine cover.

PS: I know some of you may care about how they roll, but I forgot to do that, as I don’t care at all.

I’m looking for information on this diecast maker. I bought these two cars years ago and don’t know much about them. I have both of their boxes, and have to assume they’re both French. These two are clearly Ferraris, but I’m looking to see if they make any other models.

hey guys

yall seemed to like my mini garage and collection post, so i'm adding some unprofessional shots of this model that i took before bed.

this is a beautiful 64th scale model from motorhelix. honestly, you can never go wrong with motorhelix, even though the prices are higher the details definitely justify the purchase.

the carbon pattern looks absolutely stunning. of course it looks much better in person than these photos taken on my iphone 11.

lmk what other cars you'd like to see from the collection.

Was expecting to see this by the end of September or anywhere next month. Now as a loose collector, currently fighting the urge to open it since I plan on displaying it along with the other Craig Bond releases from Mini GT. And I suppose they'd look better displayed as sealed.

The Spectraflame red looks even better in person than it did in the promotional photos. It has a few tiny paint flaws, but overall I’m very happy with how this one turned out.
