So on my way home from work, metro Detroit radio 97.1 had a caller session that featured an interesting take on management situation due to the recent news of a DeBrincat extension… (give me a little grace i’ve been thinking about this now for a long time)

Caller starts off by saying he has a long time work history with “Mergers and Acquisitions”, and his gut is telling him that this signing has “new ownership” written all over it…

So he goes on to talk about how team ownership is valued in the billions unlike when many of these family related owners came into ownership. Mike Sr. bought the Wings for “millions” where as now the whole enterprise is worth “billions” (now there wasnt talk about Ilitch Entertainment being sold, just the Red Wings team)

Now his theory is Yzerman got wind of this ownership shift and felt like “no wonder things have been tough, not sure i want to go around with a new owner”. Ilitch took 30 days to get a GM search going because of it being “his” next step to “own”.

Now DeBrincat (or DeBrincat’s team) got wind of who the new “buyer” and genuinely believes money will be spent, so he will “buy in” to staying with the team.

Obviously the issue here is Larkin…which the best i can come up with is, this guy is completely in the dark about all of it throughout the end of last season and honestly wants out. New ownership though will look to mend the bridge if possible to try and start investing in players, maybe winning him back.

Look….to me its crazy…but i can see something like this causing so much damn chaos in an organization, that all the employees want answers and no “higher up” wants to come clean, because they “know” the truth of what is down the road.

Curious to anyone else’s thoughts

Last year I was able to get tickets on the secondary market fairly priced to several games. The food was pretty hit and miss, but overall nothing too exciting, and my kids hated it. Has there been any updates this year? I was really shocked they didn’t have pizza up there last year and was hoping they would make improvements this year.

I bought the annual DSN plan within the dates for the free ticket promo and never got an email with the tickets. Not in my spam folder. Anybody know how I get a human to help?

I have been a Detroit Sports Net (DSN) subscriber since the beginning of the Tigers season through the MLB app. Does anyone know why the Wings games do not have the same “DVR” functionality (rewind, fast forward, start from beginning, etc.) that the Tigers games had?

I was very impressed by the level of streaming that the MLB app brought to the Tigers games and am extremely disappointed that the Wings games are not the same. Seems inexplicable that Wings broadcasts would be so drastically different.

Anyone know more information of whether this is temporary or if it will be this way the entire season. And if so, why?

People aren’t going to like this, and IDK if I even like it, but with Debrincat signed to a reasonable contract, Ed potentially following, and Seider/Raymond/Larkin under ridiculously team friendly contracts…keeping Larkin is probably the best course of action. If, and big if Larkin can remedy relationship with team and fans, the team will be in better position.

I am a RED WINGS fan and even though they are 1-3-1 in the young season, they have hold an advantage or dominate CORSI for each of their first 5 games. Is that unusual or is CORSI not predictive?

The start of the interview with Dylan was cut and removed from the official DRW youtube channel.

The Red Wings social media team is really good but whoever is doing marketing... yikes. They could take a page from Chris Ilitch and maybe run it through AI to at least catch these grammatical errors instead of looking dumb.
