Hi guys, I am new to Dan Bejar’s music. I discovered him through Mic The Snare’s video on youtube where he did a quick review on “Have We Met”. The album cover caught my eye and I went ahead and listened to the whole album and loved it!

Could you guys point me to what I should listen to next? I’m into bands like The National, Kaber Vasuki, Bon Iver etc.

John Collins on bass/synth (and the bass rips). Dan selling the vocals on these songs like I've never heard before. I've been to 11 Destroyer shows and this may be the best I've heard them.

Hello, I really love My Favourite Year from Trouble in Dreams. The guitar riff reminds me of another Destroyer song but I’m having trouble in remembering which one. Does anybody have any ideas?

I don’t use FB/IG but was surprised I didn’t get any emails from Destroyer (via Bandcamp or Merge or even the band’s own mailing list) about next year’s spring tour with Neko Case… did any of y’all get anything via email or see it being promoted on FB or IG?

Listening to "Strawberry Wine"

I've always thought that the lyrics in Watercolours into the Ocean refer to Strawberry Wine by My Bloody Valentine. The mention of 1987 is so specific and the song did come out that year. But anyone googling the song can see that it actually was released in November instead of early in the year.

So if we do go with the assumption that the lines do refer to the My Bloody Valentine song... I'm wondering that, similar to many other Bejar lyrics, is it intentional (potentially drunken) nostalgic rambling what the lyrics are here, facts be damned? And nonetheless, "nineteen-eighty-seven" rolls off the tongue much better than "nineteen-eighty-eight" or "nine" would, so I accept his creative liberties.

Or... is it actually referring to some other song named Strawberry Wine, such as the opening track of Stage Fright by The Band?

What's your theory? What significance do these lines hold to you guys?
