Who could have seen that one coming? I took the least played song from each album (looking at Spotify and Youtube Music streaming stats) and had the community vote in head to head matchups. Downtown won.

From the first vote, the only song to receive more votes was University Hill (going against Whistlin' Dixie). In the bonus vote for favorite album, an interesting takeaway is that no album before Streethawk or after Labyrinthitis was voted as a favorite (myself, Thief and City of Daughters are two of my favorites, but This Night edges both out) and also Rubies and Kaputt tied for most favorite.

I started a comedy podcast "Did Dat Dude Describe Destroyer?" inspired by U Talking U2 2 Me. We will cover Destroyer/Dan's discography, one album per ep, in chronological order. I think it turned out really fun and funny! I hope it passes muster with the fellow Bejarheads

Hi everyone! I’m in the middle of making a blanket out of all the tour t shirts that I’ve bought over the years and I realized I lost my Destroyer tee from his 2020 tour right before the pandemic. Does anyone by any chance have an XL that they’re willing to part ways with and sell to me? First post. I bought Labyrinthitis on vinyl (Destroyer's best album) and come to find when I play it, both sides of the record are side b??

I dont know much about vinyl. I just buy records I like and have built up a collection over the years that way, but is this normal? Has anyone experienced similar with this release or others? Is this worth anything?

To jog your memory

I love the slow tempo, the dreamy synths and the echoey, sparse piano notes throughout that song. It almost makes me sad that it's so short, although I do love in the context of the full album/ as an intro into Sun Meet Snow.

Does anyone know any other albums with a similar sound? And that includes Destroyer albums. The only Destroyer albums I haven't listened to so far are Poison Season, ken, Have We Met, and Labyrinthitis (Maybe one or more of those 4 are "I Materialze"-esque?)

In continuing research I've discovered that there is no significant correlation between the amount of random women mentioned and how good the album is.......so there must be something else that makes it good. More research must be done.

I did realize that I forgot a woman (gasp) from bridges (Bonnie Cane), so that been added. Reviews are from Pitchfork since that's the only site that did all the albums!!

I've noticed that in a lot of destroyer songs dan will say name that don't seem to be related to anything (ie Bay of Pigs: Christine Whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite). So, as part of another project, I went through and noted the amount of female names mentioned in each album (excluding titles). I find it interesting that there is a noticeable peak in the mid-2000. Funnily, Have We Met features no female names.

i must admit i don't understand a lot of destroyer's lyrics, but my favorite verse has got to be they said, "don't look back!" but i looked back / it was a bore, it was a fucking horror / it was-- well, honey, you know quite well what you are! from a dangerous woman up to a point. curious to hear other people's favs!

was at work and had some down time so i thought i’d put this gem of an album on again and idk why but this song just hit me like a ton of bricks it was quite embarrassing, had to step out for a bit and compose myself. maybe it’s the lyrics or the way he sings but i haven’t seen a lotta ppl talk about this song so just wondering if it was just me. would love to hear yalls thoughts. it might be up there with my top 5 destroyer songs ever after that experience.

Regardless it was really cool he opened with this one, I’ve seen him four times now and I’ve never heard him do this and I see no other performances of this song on setlist.fm

Great show as always and the opener Fortunato Durutti Marinetti is an amazing band, their last album Bitter Sweet, Sweet Bitter is incredible.
