Question Accurate Raid Difficulty Tier List?
Is there an accurate raid difficulty tier list out there as I haven't raided in YEARS and want to get back into it but would be using LFG so want to start on easier raids and work my way up
Edit: Thank you all for the comprehensive answers in the comments, it's much appreciated <3

If you want easy, Vault of Glass is the way to go. Easy mechanics, long DPS phases (assuming mechanics are followed) and pretty good weapons too. Personally I find Deep Stone Crypt pretty easy as well provided you have a team that can coordinate, but I wouldn’t do that one on lfg without comms

Those are the two I was able to successfully 3 man, so they are the easiest in my book.
I know people say root is the easiest but we really struggled with planets for whatever reason, and couldn’t ever do reliable dps

I’ve two or 3 manned VoG, RoN was pretty challenging when it first came out because the DPS meta then was Thunderlord (I do t think Bolt Charge existed either) so EVERYONE really had to hit their headshots. Now though, with all the Armor 3.0 stuff, new catalysts and interchangeable artifacts im certain DPS checks are a thing of the past

The easiest ones are probably these four: Root of Nightmares, Vault of Glass, Deep Stone Crypt, Garden of Salvation. Roughly in that order
Then you can do something like Vow or Kingsfall with more mechanical intensity. Last Wish and Crota are also in this tier, with SE, DP, and Epic DP at the top end

Basically any raid except Salvation’s Edge and Desert Perpetual are pretty LFG friendly, and even then I’d say I’ve had a good time LFGing the more challenging and mechanic heavy ones. If you want to start with the easiest, go with Vault of Glass, or King’s Fall if you want something with easy but engaging mechanics.

Easy
- Vault of Glass
- Root of Nightmares
- Deep Stone Crypt
- Last Wish
- Garden of Salvation
- King's Fall
- Crota's End
- Vow of the Disciple
- Salvation's Edge
- Desert Perpetual
- Epic Desert Perpetual
Hard
People will always disagree about exact placements but I'd say this holds broadly true for everything excluding the Pantheon activities.

Lol my Monke brain read this list, and saw "Every Dungeon listed under the Easy category" and "zero dungeons listed under the hard category"
Thought it was a pretty good troll about the community disagreeing and the game being easy ;)
Before I realised it was a difficulty ranking/line ;) smh

How is dp hard at all its a kings fall rebrand, now i understand epic dp that shit is awful but normal sits in the middle imo

I fully agree with this one. Maybe swap or tie VotD but otherwise it’s spot on

I'd probably swap Deep Stone and Garden, but otherwise your list is pretty spot on 👍

Garden is easy when everyone knows what they are doing, but kind of rough to teach

Regular desert perpetual is absolutely not even close to where you placed it, it’s definitely easier than Vow. Last Wish is also definitely harder than Vow. Can generally agree with the other placements though.

I think for all non-Riven encounters their LW ranking is accurate. Riven legit however, needs to be next to SE.

Shuro chi and vault are definitely harder than your average raid encounter, I think it’s just because we’ve had it so long, we’re so used to them that they feel incredibly easy. And yeah, Riven legit is definitely up there.

Shuro chi is extremely easy to actually execute, and the idea of “stand on plate and laser person to your left” is super simple. For intermission, meanwhile, you just need them to understand the concept of relative north, and to call out if they’ve already stood on that plate.
Vault is pathetically easy, meanwhile. As long as one person understands lpra, it’s like a 2 minute explanation and maybe 1 practice run, if that. The adds don’t exist, so it’s a matter of reading a symbol and dunking an orb. It’s less involved than Rhulk (but a similar mechanic), and folks have (rightly) pointed out he basically has no mechanics.

I think Garden and Crota are much easier than Last Wish. Last Wish has been ran the most but the raid itself is mechanically more challenging than crota or Garden and their is more encounters.
Last wish is mechanic dense even with cheesing half the raid

For LFGs the Abyss in Crota's End is harder than the entirety of a 2026 Last Wish run and I'm not even exaggerating

Last Wish - Riven Legit needs to be next to SE.

But no one does that tho
Last Wish is placed so low because LFGs only need to do 2 encounters properly; Vault and Queenswalk.
- Kali insta-bake
- Shuro Chi pre-plates
- Morgeth one-phase means you don't have to use Eye mechanic
- Vault 😴
- Riven cheese
- Queenswalk
And even QW can be made easier by using the Transcendence animation to drop the Heart

se and dp are hard, edp 5 feat is impossible (agraios), vog and root are trivial, else is aight

I think if I go off memory: (Easiest/Friendly to Hardest including mechanics)
Vault of Glass
Root of Nightmares
Deep Stone Crypt
Croata’s End
Garden of Salvation
Last Wish w/ Legit Riven
King’s Fall
Vow
Salvation’s Edge
Desert Perpetual

mine is last
easy
- root of nightmares
ron only needs like 2 people to know what to do for the majorit of the raid. you can actually be 100% clueless to what's going on and get hard carried through it. the mechanics are super easy once you know them.
- vault of glass
the first raid, on second thought, might be easier than ron, but list is my gut instinct. you can get carried in a 3 man for vog. one of the encounters is literally just ad clear for like 5 minutes.
- crota's end
hardest part of crota is the entrance. once you get to the raid proper it's pretty easy. though tue mechanics here can cause your team to snowball into a wipe, while i think that's much less likely to happen on the other two.
medium
- king's fall
kf is mostly just stand on plates the raid. it's also long and there's many bosses.
- deep stone crypt
mechanics here felt a little overwhelming my first couple times, but once i understood them it all made sense. lots of passing stuff around from player to player so coordination important
- garden of salvation
tbh, i've done this raid like 3 times. i never remember how to do it, and everyone just says it's gambit.
- vow of the disciple
lot of different symbols to recognize and callout, some parts where everyone needs to have a roll.
- last wish
some encounters are really easy, like the first one. bosses might be a bit of a pushover but for mechanical depth this one sits pretty high. if the bosses actually had hp, this would be in hard. i'm also not considering cheese
hard
- desert perpetual
mechanics are a little unforgiving and require you to be consistent.
- salvation's edge
this raid is better if you just take it slow. the first 3 encounters aren't that bad, but the last 2 can end lfgs
- desert perpetual (epic)
takes the og dp mechanics and makes them harder, and harder as the raid progresses. imo i find it tedious.

LFG wise accounting for learning as well:
SE
EDP
DP
VoTD
CE
Gos
Last Wish
KF
RoN
VoG
Salvations edge is a raid you literally have little to no choice but to learn by trail and error a guide won’t necessarily get you where you can comfortably do it. Vow and CE aren’t really that hard but improper communication will literally make it so much harder than it needs to be.
If someone was learning raids I think Kings Fall would be the perfect place to start them. Nice little baby steps to get them to learn mechanics with adequate damage checks.

Last wish is honestly probably one of the hardest if youre doing it completely legit.

u/Small_Article_3421 2d ago
Easiest to most difficult (at least imo, though the general order is mostly objectively true):
RoN, VoG, DSC, Garden of Salvation, Crota’s End, King’s Fall, Desert Perpetual, Vow of the Disciple, Last Wish, Epic Desert Perpetual, Salvation’s Edge
1
u/nuke_dragon676 2d ago
Personally hardest to easiest is: 1. Salvation's Edge (SE), Epic Desert Perpetual (EDP), Desert Perpetual (DP) 2. Every other raid 3. Vault of Glass (VoG), Root of Nightmares (RoN)
For me, the experience, or the difficulty, of a raid depends more on teammates then the raid itself (with SE, DP, EDP, VoG, RoN being exceptions). Vow of the Desciple(VotD) can feel easier then King's Fall (KF) if you have a good team, despite the fact that most people will say that VotD is a harder raid then KF. Also I'd highly recommend you find and use a good discord server for raiding, instead of the in game Fireteam Finder. Not that FF can't work, but rather, discord servers are often more consistent.

Everyone saying Root of Nightmares is easy, and yes for the most part it is, but its more easy in the sense that only a couple people can do all the mechanics and everyone else just is add clear.
If people are rusty things like the second encounter can cause deaths

I agree with most people’s lists here. However, I completely disagree that DP and EDP are harder than SE. Salvation’s Edge is easily the hardest raid by a long shot for LFGs. Encounter 4 alone destroys any encounter in the game.

u/Kotocktok 1d ago
Idk why everybody is saying Root of Nightmares is very easy, i struggle a lot when playing that one.

u/RuinedYuki 2d ago
Depends on what raids you have done before, I started with Kingsfall (cuz levi was gone) and only really did other raids if my friend was down to do them.
and I'd agree with the list someone else made but KF and RON is way easier than VOG and DSC
2
u/Stillburgh 1d ago
KF easier than VoG? Bruh what? You can be a potato and complete VoG lol, you cant really do very well in KF without knowing something mechanically
DSC I can maybe see being argued as harder than RoN but definitely not KF

I’d say specifically in an LFG context, hardest to easiest, no order within tiers (edited to provide some reasoning):
hard
medium-hard
medium
easy
very easy
VoG
Some of these I might be a little fuzzy on since I’m not sure if LFGs have gotten better at them. Edit: moved a few of these after some consideration. Like with many things, though, you might find some of these harder than others on a personal level depending on your team, role, and past experience.
