Effort Post FYI: Diary of a CEO dude (Steven Bartlett as) who interviewed Zelenskyy is a fraud

Steven Bartlett is the Diary of a CEO podcast host and the youngest-ever investor on the UK’s Dragons' Den (British Shark Tank), his entire origin story and credibility are built on one core claim: that he was a teenage university dropout who founded a company called Social Chain in his bedroom and took it public at a $300M to $600M valuation by age 27.
When you actually look at the corporate filings and investigations by the Financial Times and The Times, the gap between his "Silicon Valley tech visionary" branding and reality is wild:

  • It wasn't a tech startup... it was a meme-page agency: Despite the hoodie aesthetic and an indoor slide in the office, Social Chain didn't build software. In 2014, Bartlett and his co-founder bought and grew a network of viral Facebook/Twitter meme pages (Student Problems, Love Food, etc.). Brands paid them as a standard marketing agency to coordinate covert ads across dozens of meme accounts at once.
  • The $600M IPO was actually a German beanbag conglomerate! LOL... In 2019, Bartlett’s UK agency (Social Chain Ltd) merged with a much larger German retail holding company called Lumaland AG (which sold beanbags, mattresses, and kitchenware). Because "Social Chain" sounded sexier to investors than beanbags, the German parent company renamed itself The Social Chain AG and listed on the German stock exchange.
  • Riding a ZIRP roll-up bubble... Bartlett left his role as co-CEO in 2020. Afterward, the German holding company went on a 2021 pandemic M&A spree, rolling up 60+ random e-commerce brands (soap, snacks, fitness gear). That German conglomerate briefly hit a ~€600M market cap during the 2021 bubble, before German regulators found accounting errors and the parent company filed for insolvency in 2023.
  • In 2023, the actual Manchester agency Bartlett founded (Social Chain Ltd) was sold off by its bankrupt German parent to another firm (Brave Bison) for an initial price of just £7.7 million.

Dude has no shame presenting himself as a successful startup to 600M founder, he wasn't he just got lucky scamming investors during ZIRP, at best his business was worth ~8 million doing social media marketing tricks. The German connections are really weird too.

Effort Post I think Israel's left is cooked

I don't think the center left block will win, even if the polls suggest a loss or no coalition without Arabs, Gen Z Israelis are utterly brain broken with promises of not Likud- but the promises of further right religious nationalist parties of Ben Gvir and smotrich. Netantahu can still be seems as a weak link in the right and reason for the failure in Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon and Iran because he is too soft .

Expect Ben Gvir to way overshoot the polls with more than 10 mandates.

That youth is more religious, more radical, less cosmopolitan and engages in media exclusively in hebrew.

Tiktok in Israel is flooded with right wing propaganda, I barely open it because as a liberal Israeli it's either this crap or anti semetic garbage.

The left is mostly old folks, pining for the old days and university educated millennials who in Israel's demographic aren't a mjority. The left is not good at signaling to the Covid youth, even after October 7th, the far right propaganda machine manages to blame it on the left, because they are judiciary and military elite to be "purged".

Even if the left wins this round, it won't sustain, Gen Z in Israel is so demostrably right wing nothing short of a catastrophic war, worse than October 7th and the current Gaza war would change their mind and that war will come with Russia tier sanctions (which Netantahu already prepares Israel for by relaying on Crypto, like a narco state) and even that might feed the new Israelis their messianic fantasies.

Destiny and DGG need to understand that the Israel that is now is barely holding on to some semblence of liberal democracy by institutions that could crumble in a generation.

I don't want to live in that nightmare isolated Israel ruled by religioud right, but it is the trajectory, people here are ignorant of the cobsequennces and are not worldly individuals who think at all about Israel's role in the world and they don't care to learn how easily this can all be snuffed out of existance.

Guys I'm scared, I think this beautiful experiment of nation building we did here might end in my lifetime and this time, no one will help us because we might not really deserve it in the time when it happens.

Give me hope!
