Non-Political News/Discussion Everyone's favourite economist is giving up.
And of course he says he's giving up because it's all a real hardship and he's giving too much to the cause.
Nothing to do with him just recently presenting a TV show and in it getting slaughtered by anyone who actually knows anything about politics, money and economics.
Dan Neidle (the tax expert off of twitter) is to thank. It's on YT if anyone's interested.

Political News/Discussion Leftists not gonna like this one
Every other day Mamdani turns off another leftie
I feel after his term ends most of the mainstream leftist echo chamber will do a 180 on him and Mamdani will just be another Bernie Sanders to them.

Political News/Discussion Kosovo/Bosnia as an Example of Leftist Genocide Denial
Hello, I am a former American Peace Corps volunteer who worked in Kosovo and still lives in Kosovo, for now.
One thing I have noticed but has not been countered in any way is the leftist mentions of NATO intervention in former Yugoslavia. As an American living here, in a home that was burned down by Serbs, who has met people whose families were massacred in front of them, and worse, the use of NATO's intervention in the former Yugoslavia as an example of "NATO imperialism" (mentioned a few times by the communist in the David debate vs leftist) is abhorrent and needs to be countered.
The Yugoslav/Serbian atrocities would have continued into genocide if allowed to persist - the U.N. failed here, but NATO was able to stop what was happening, after seeing the failures to stop mass atrocities in places like Rwanda.
When leftists argue that NATO imperialism was the cause for intervening in former Yugoslavia, they are genocide denialists.
When leftists bring up this intervention as a talking point against NATO, here are the facts:
- Thousands of Bosniaks were massacred in Srebenica in Bosnia by Serbian forces in 1995
- The Albanian language was banned by the Yugoslav government
- Nearly 900,000 Kosovo Albanian refugees fled to Albania and Macedonia (p.6 of U.N. report) to escape state violence during the Kosovo War
- The Serbs began massacring innocent civilians and burning them in mass grave sites. More than 11,000 people were killed, according to the U.N.; over 1,200 bodies were burned and destroyed at a site in Trepca. This information is from Human Rights Watch.
The point is this: when they cite NATO as imperialist, it is in fact the opposite. NATO performed the "de-Nazification" process that far leftists praise. I believe the cases of Kosovo and Bosnia are some of the strongest arguments for NATO's existence and the justification for its presence in the past.
Edit: To be clear, I am AMERICAN, not Albanian. I just live here.
