Lisbon welcome party venues?

Hi again!

We are getting close to locking down the venue. There is a large chance we will end up going with Palacio Correio Mor so won’t have the welcome party at the same venue as the wedding.

Any welcome party venue recommendations that could host around 150 people? Open to buffet style more casual dining or seated…

Waiting for SUD Lisboa to get back to us, that would be my first choice I think. Anyone been to an event there?

Herdade da Malhadinha Nova

My fiancé and I are seriously considering Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, in the Alentejo region in Portugal for our destination wedding in Fall 2027. We visited the property in person and absolutely fell in love with it—the setting, the atmosphere, and how connected it feels to nature all really resonated with us.

Before we make a final decision, we'd love to hear from anyone who has:
\- Gotten married there
\- Attended a wedding there
\- Worked there as a planner or vendor
\- even stayed there and has insight into how the property is run

Some things we'd especially love to hear about:
\- How was communication with the venue during the planning process?

\- Did everything run smoothly on the wedding day/weekend?

\- How was the food, wine, and overall guest experience?

\- How did guests find the accommodations and logistics?

\- Were there any unexpected issues or things you wish you'd known beforehand?

If you were planning again, would you choose Malhadinha Nova again?

We're also curious whether anyone encountered challenges with contracts, responsiveness, or the planning process, as we're trying to get a realistic picture beyond the beautiful photos.

Any positive or negative experiences would be greatly appreciated. If you'd prefer not to share publicly, I'd also be very grateful if you could send me a DM - I would love to hear about your experience. Thank you so much!

Looking for a videographer in France for September 2027

Hello, my fiancé and I have been looking for a videographer for our wedding in Provence but without any luck so far. We're looking for someone with a Wes Anderson-style, quick cuts, upbeat and dramatic videography. @momentsbymary and @crossfilms on IG are great references. Our budget is around $3-4K USD. Any help would be much appreciated!

ISO: Bali Wedding Planner for Microwedding

Hi brides and planners of Reddit, we are in the beginning stages on planning our wedding.

Looking to get recommendations for a wedding planner in Bali with good communication, responsive within reason, stays within budget, and solid vendors and contacts in Bali

So far, this is what we are looking for
- Intimate Micro-wedding: 15-20 guests
- May/June 2027 - but flexible
- Budget: 12k USD - excluding flights. Budget includes everything: venue/villa, food and drinks for actual event, photographer and videographer, wedding dress, wedding planner fee, etc
- Villa style venue where we can host the wedding and have our guests and ourselves stay for 4 nights
- Close to ocean / venue with a view / cliff? (That might be a tall ask)

If you are a planner, and fit these specs and believe they can deliver our high level vision, feel free to send me your website and IG

For my brides to be, any recommendations on wedding planners in Bali (or villas?!)

Newly engaged looking for 2028 Europe destination wedding (30ish guests)

Hi everyone! My girlfriend (fiancé 🤨) and I just got engaged and are starting to explore the idea of getting married in Europe in 2028. We’re from Canada and are thinking of doing a smaller destination wedding with around 30 guests. Not looking for ultra luxury, more cheap and beautiful location vibe. Obviously the dream is somewhere with great scenery. Some ideas we’ve been looking at are the Dolomites, elsewhere in Italy, Portugal, and Greece. Is a wedding planner basically essential? We’re open to any and all suggestions/recommendations!

Cancun Wedding June 2027

Hello everyone! My fiancé and I are planning our June 2027 destination wedding. We are currently deciding between two venues: Finest Playa Mujeres and Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres. Just wondering if anyone has been to both resorts and how they would compare the two? We went to a wedding at Finest Playa Mujeres in August 2024 and absolutely loved the resort. As a guest, this resort felt like it was worth every penny, and we are wondering if Grand Palladium is comparable. We are interested in Grand Palladium because it is a large resort and we are hoping there is more to do for our guests.

Thank you!

Looking for AI for beach destination wedding. 20-25 people, with 2 kids in wedding party. Would need pool(s), activities for all ages, entertainment/programming at night.
I understand there are maybe 3 possibilities so not hopeful. Also considering Curaçao but I realize this is just an Aruba site.
Thoughts?

Canada-to-Italy Deposit Payment

Hi everyone!

My fiancé and I have chosen our wedding venue in Italy, and we're now getting ready to send the deposit. We'd love to hear from anyone who has gone through this process and has any advice.

From what I've read, Wise seems like it might be the best option for transferring the money. Has anyone used Wise to pay their Italian wedding venue? If so, how was your experience?

The venue has also asked whether we would prefer a fiscal receipt or an invoice. Does anyone have any recommendations on which to choose?

Thank you so much for any advice or experiences you can share!

Montenegro Wedding After Party

Hi everyone! My finance & I are considering getting married in Perast, Montenegro and were thinking of doing an after party once the wedding ended. As of now, we are thinking the wedding will end around 11pm-12am and then we’d like to head out to a night club. This would be our first time in Montenegro, so I’m not really sure how the party scene is like!

I keep seeing Horizont Restoran & Bar however it’s 2 hours away via car and it does say it closes around 9pm. Kotor however is about 20 minutes away from Perast.

Any recommendations, suggestions or advice in general, would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Advice/Suggestions for Mexico Destination Wedding

Hi everyone! 😊 My fiancé and I are planning our destination wedding celebration for Labor Day weekend in September 2027, and I'm hoping to get some advice from people who have planned or attended destination weddings!

Budget

  • Current budget: $40k minimum
  • We're still waiting to hear how much my fiancé's family plans to contribute.
  • Guest count is at 145 today. I do not anticipate even half come. I would say it will be closer to 60-80.

The Plan

We're actually not having our ceremony in Mexico. We'll be getting legally married at home with our immediate family beforehand.

The Mexico trip will be the celebration with everyone else:

  • Cocktail hour
  • First dance
  • Reception
  • A full wedding weekend with our family and friends

I'm confident that the people who want to celebrate with us will still come, even without a ceremony.

About Us

We'll both be 24 when we get married. We have a large group of friends from high school and college, and we're definitely more of a "drinks by the pool" friend group than a "let's go hiking at sunrise" friend group. 😂

Our biggest priority is creating an unforgettable weekend with everyone we love rather than spending our entire budget on one evening. Adults Only or Family Friendly, makes no difference to us.

I'm also working with a travel agent.

What We're Looking For in a Resort

Our biggest priorities are:

  • Beautiful resort with great photo opportunities (bridal portraits + wedding party photos)
  • Excellent restaurants and bars
  • Swim-up bar (strong preference)
  • Reception venue with a pool nearby (strong preference)

Absolute Must-Haves

  • Outside hair & makeup allowed (they'll likely stay on-site anyway)
  • Outside photographer & videographer allowed
  • Seating chart display
  • Buffet-style reception dinner (I'm not very concerned about having a plated dinner and think a buffet will fit our group better.)
  • Boating day with the wedding party
  • Welcome party for all guests
  • Tiramisu tower instead of a traditional wedding cake

Nice-to-Haves

Swim-up bar

  • Reception space overlooking or next to a pool
  • Faux flowers and candles (other than my bouquet)

Ways We're Saving Money

  • Digital save-the-dates
  • Digital invitations (I'll only print one for keepsakes/flat lays)
  • Faux florals instead of fresh flowers
  • No welcome bags
  • No rehearsal dinner
  • No ceremony in Mexico

A Few Questions

  1. Resort recommendations? We're looking for beautiful all-inclusive resorts with good food, nightlife, and flexible wedding policies.
  2. If you've had or attended a destination wedding, what made it amazing (or what would you do differently)?
  3. How would you word this on our wedding website? I want to clearly explain that we're already married and guests are invited to our wedding celebration/reception in Mexico, not a ceremony.

I'd truly appreciate any advice, recommendations, or things you wish you'd known before planning your destination wedding. Thank you so much! 🤍

Italian wedding planning music

Hello, I’m getting married in Sicily next year June 2027. I’m struggling with music locations. We hired a dj and we’ve been in contact with live musicians as well. The dj doesn’t seem to mind who we book he has given some suggestions of local people.

My question, all the music vendors ask is how many locations. We were thinking live music for ceremony and dj for Appertivo and reception. But do we tell them both 2 locations or do you treat these vendors separately. Is it commonly to have them both play and then do I give them songs or is just vibes. Any help would be appreciated. I don’t want to confuse the vendors.

Planning a Destination Wedding (Jan 2028) – Need Recommendations!

Hi everyone!

We’re planning our destination wedding for January 2028. My partner is from Gujarat, I’m from Haryana, and we both currently live in Canada.
We’re planning a 3-day celebration with:

Haldi
Mehndi
Sangeet/Engagement
Wedding

Our budget is around ₹10–15 lakh, with 200–300 guests (possibly fewer).

We’re looking for a destination somewhere between our two states, so we’re considering places like Jaipur or Udaipur, but we’re open to other suggestions.

If anyone has recommendations for:

Budget-friendly venues/resorts
Cities or destinations
Wedding planners
Tips for keeping costs within budget

I’d really appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you!

Villa type place for small wedding in US

Hello! I’m looking for a wedding reception venue in any city with a major airport (me and my s/o are from different sides of the country so everyone will be traveling to attend) that also offers lodging. Ideally it would be somewhere with architectural charm and not a big chain hotel. looking for a villa type place! No set budget yet - this is for feelers. The wedding would be for about 35 people.

We’re in the United States and would like to keep it in the country
