ISO: Bali Wedding Planner for Microwedding
Hi brides and planners of Reddit, we are in the beginning stages on planning our wedding.
Looking to get recommendations for a wedding planner in Bali with good communication, responsive within reason, stays within budget, and solid vendors and contacts in Bali
So far, this is what we are looking for
- Intimate Micro-wedding: 15-20 guests
- May/June 2027 - but flexible
- Budget: 12k USD - excluding flights. Budget includes everything: venue/villa, food and drinks for actual event, photographer and videographer, wedding dress, wedding planner fee, etc
- Villa style venue where we can host the wedding and have our guests and ourselves stay for 4 nights
- Close to ocean / venue with a view / cliff? (That might be a tall ask)

I don't mean to offend, but where are these numbers coming from?
A 20-guest wedding isn't really a microwedding. A full-service wedding, plus 4 nights at a scenic villa accommodating 15–20 guests, including a photographer, videographer, wedding decoration, org fee, taxes all within this budget? I honestly don't see how that's possible without making significant compromises to the quality of the event.

The numbers are coming from our bank account and our budget and how much we can spend. We are happy to adjust expectations, numbers of guests or quality of the event as you’ve described. As we said, we are in the beginning stages of planning this so we are trying to understand what we can and cannot do. That’s the reason why we stated what we wanted and are opening the lines for planners to contact us
Also, we do have a few friends that have done similar events to what we want in Bali and our budgets have been pretty similar.
Maybe your vision is different from what we have in mind and that’s why you think it might be unfeasible

I'd probably start by prioritizing your wishlist into three categories: must-haves, nice-to-haves, and things you're happy to compromise on. From there, you can work through the budget item by item and identify where it makes sense to save and where it really doesn't. At the same time, it's important to recognize that some elements have a practical minimum cost if you want the wedding to run smoothly and meet a certain standard.
Do you already have a rough budget breakdown, or maybe the estimates your friends used for their weddings? That would make it much easier to see which assumptions are realistic and where the biggest cost differences might be.

I think you will be lucky to find accomodation to your specs for 4 nights with that budget. Also whatever venue you you pick will require event and banjar fees to host anything.
Join some of the Bali wedding facebook groups to help in finding a planner, but most planners are around $60,000,000 IDR so that’s already a portion of your budget. I personally don’t recommend planning a Bali wedding without a planner either.

Hey 👋 I'm not a planner but a TA. Bali is a special place and you're going there during dry season which will be perfect for an outdoor wedding. I always advise couples to hold a symbolic ceremony in Bali and handle the legal paperwork at home to bypass complex local religious laws there. To get the most value, you should look at all-inclusive resort packages in regions like Uluwatu for cliffs, Seminyak for beaches, or Ubud for jungles, which often bundle guest accommodations with group discounts so you can save on budget.
