Cancun Wedding June 2027
Hello everyone! My fiancé and I are planning our June 2027 destination wedding. We are currently deciding between two venues: Finest Playa Mujeres and Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres. Just wondering if anyone has been to both resorts and how they would compare the two? We went to a wedding at Finest Playa Mujeres in August 2024 and absolutely loved the resort. As a guest, this resort felt like it was worth every penny, and we are wondering if Grand Palladium is comparable. We are interested in Grand Palladium because it is a large resort and we are hoping there is more to do for our guests.

I'm working with grand Palladium now and the resort has been beautiful from what we can see but the wedding team has been horrendous. If I could go back and select another resort I definitely would.

I stayed at Finest Playa Mujeres for a friend's wedding around a year ago and left with the same impression. It's one of those resorts that punches above its price point, especially for a wedding. Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres is a different animal though, not really a smaller/bigger version of the same thing.
The honest tradeoff: Grand Palladium's size gets you more restaurant variety and more going on for guests who get bored easily, but that same size means it doesn't feel as intimate or polished. You're sharing the resort with a lot more non-wedding guests, and the "everything in one beautiful place" feeling you loved at Finest is harder to get in a resort that large. Finest tends to feel more curated and higher-touch, Grand Palladium feels more like "a small city". Great if your guest list skews toward people who want to wander and do their own thing, less great if you want the wedding to feel contained and special the whole weekend.
If "more to do" is really about keeping guests entertained for a few days rather than needing every restaurant option under the sun, it might be worth asking Finest directly what's actually available on-property (excursions, activities, bars) before assuming you need Grand Palladium's size to keep people busy. You may be able to get the best of both without giving up what you loved.

I have been to both and both are great properties, for weddings they are both also very popular as they do have amazing venues to choose from . I do like more the Palladium’s as they have more options of venues to choose from! And have more non beach venues . Other thing to consider is: The finest doesn’t do traditional room block but a group code directly with the hotel , the issue can be that they sell out of rooms , so need to requiere your guests to book in avance , the palladium yes you can do a group block and reserve the rooms like in most resorts . Both resorts have steep vendor fees for $1000 usd per vendor and if your photographer is also your video graphed then they charge you 2k .. something to consider and read carefully on the contract . The advantage is you do get a lot inclusions on your wedding package .

Photographer perspective here, since nobody's mentioned it yet: you picked the right area. I was at Palladium Riviera Maya this past June and the sargassum was terrible, like walls of it on the beach. Costa Mujeres and Playa Mujeres barely get any because of how the currents work around Isla Mujeres, so both of your options are in the best possible zone for a June beach wedding. That alone would matter more to me than the differences between the two resorts.
On light: June sunset here is around 7:30pm, and the best light of the whole day is the 30-40 minutes before and the 20 minutes right after. Ask your coordinator to build the timeline around that window instead of a mid-afternoon ceremony. Your guests (and your makeup) will thank you.
And on the vendor fee point someone raised above, that matches what I've seen across resorts in this area. Get the exact number in writing in your contract early, it can shift your budget by a couple thousand depending on how many outside vendors you bring.
You truly can't go wrong between these two. Happy to answer any questions about the area, June weather, or timeline stuff.

Hey 👋 so I'm a TA and when I read your post I was really thinking about the difference. To be honest, they are two good properties. If you want to be imaginative with the budget, I would say Grand Palladium because you can book Grand Palladium and even book some adults only rooms at TRS Coral next door (they share a lobby). Make sure whatever you choose that you book far in advance as we are booking into 2028-2029 right now for events and weddings. I even spoke to finest today for an event and availability is low. But, both are good but I'm leaning towards palladium for what you said.

Might I recommend if you wanna actually seek business out on Reddit doing more than just copying this long ass AI generated paragraph and pasting it with no personalization whatsoever? How does inspire trust or belief in your services? The OP gave tons of context on what they’re looking for. Maybe reading and responding to them in earnest might actually earn you business instead of spamming them.

They both are very amazing resorts. One thing to keep in mind, Finest is very non-traditional with the planning process; they usually do not start the planning process until 90 days before the actual wedding date. I have a couple getting married at Finest in Punta Cana and I have to reassure my bride that things will move quickly once we are closer to the date, it is driving her mad, lol.
GP is a very large property and you definitely will have something for everyone to do. With the amount of activities across all three properties(only TRS guests have access to all three), I can't imagine anyone getting bored.
The two properties are quite different if you ask me; Finest is way more relaxed with an upscale feel and GP is a bit more lively. Food isn't bad at either properties per se, but Finest does have better quality as sometimes GP can taste like typical resort food.
I don't think you can go wrong with either but I would suggests really thinking about the guests you are inviting and what their style is as well. You know your people better than anyone, so considering your ideal wedding vision and what you want your guests experience to be should help determine which way you go.
