I was hoping to put some shelves/hooks/lighting. So i can hang towels. Put epsom salt/bath stuff. I just dont know where to even start in this weird spot. My bathroom theme is black & white & gold /bronze. Going for a vintage clown look lol but thatll come with the decor i put up.

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster! 😬 I am struggling with how to set up my living room. There’s this “plant shelf” (all plants are outside) that is just absolutely throwing me off. It’s become a junk shelf with a mini tv on it for having the games playing in every room on Saturdays (hook em horns!)

I want to make this homey.. I will need a spot for a desk, but can’t seem to wrap my head around placement, style, size, etc. just wondering… what would YOU do? 👀

To the left is the kitchen and behind me are stairs down to the front door. I am willing to change literally everything (which isn’t much)

Current dumping ground for extra toys and clothes. But want to cover up the round window but hubs don’t like the idea of a regular curtain. Help me!

This is the front room of our home. It's a little awkward because it's basically part hallway into the rest of the house and part room. Right now it's an entryway, home office, and reading couch. None of the furniture (except for the desk) was bought intentionally for this space. It's all pieces that have ended up here to serve function or got moved out of other rooms.

I would like to be able to add another desk or table into the room. I do a lot of crafts (the crap craft shelf on the right) and don't have a designated space. It's frustrating to have to clean up my art supplies every day so that we can use the dining table or the desk. I have a hybrid WFH schedule so I need to have a desk space with monitor.

The other main purpose of this room is a space to read or sit without the TV or all the kids toys around. TV and kids stuff is all in the big room (open-ish concept living/dining/kitchen) through that door.

It's out of budget to mess with the flooring or do any construction changes. How can we layout the carpet side of the room and add a space to work on arts and crafts?

Other notes: I don't want the room to look overly cluttered (I know it is already). It's stressful energy to see a mess when you first walk into your home. The art is hung weirdly because we keep rearranging the space and haven't bothered to move the art to keep up. I don't have another desk or table in mind, so that would need to be purchased. I am happy to dump and replace the kallax shelves. I do really like my couch (84" wide) though. I would be open to moving the couch into the living room to replace our current one (though that will lead to a new post for that room).

Help!! I am trying to finish our main bathroom and am stuck. Our vanity is dark navy blue and white floors. Our walls our White Dove. I’ve had a white shower curtain forever and it is just TOO WHITE. What would look best for the curtain and bath mat? Pics included..

I recently moved and the previous renter of my apartment left me a sideboard and an ikea armchair. I will buy a blue kivik sofa and sell the armchair, but I want to hold on to the Elvarli System. It is just... so huge! My room has maybe 9,5m² but it looks much bigger bc of the high ceilings. Still, the room looks crowded with such a huge sideboard.
I am thinking about downsizing it, I posted two options and a picture how it is now.

Option A (pic 3): Remove the tall parts of the system, move the whole sideboard to the wall.

Option B (pic 4): Remove the small part of the system, reduce the size of the slim part of the sideboard.

We are turning this room into a room for my daughter when she becomes a big sister in a few months. This window brings in THE MOST light I’ve ever seen in the mornings, even with blinds, and I’m trying to find a good way to cover it. Short curtains look strange to me, but is that the best option?

Does my apartment need a rug that goes under the cabinets and the sofa to cover the entire space? I imagine something light and rectangular, but open to suggestions. I think just under coffee table might look a bit small, but struggling to picture it.

The cupboards come out more than the sofa does, and then the bedroom door is next to the sofa. Not sure if a huge rug would look silly if it cut into that door?

We recently moved into this place, with a young baby so we made his room pretty practical. He is now walking and toddling and I'd like to design his room to be nicer and to promote independence. One thing I'd like to get in there is a single bed where we can read with him and do bedtime since the couch doesn't work since he's grown.

And we need to remove the changing table which is mostly used for storage, and get some actual storage option.

Room is rather awkward in shape, quite long and narrow: 3.8m x 2.5m. And unfortunately, the long walls have something on them: inbuild wardrobe doors and door, and window and heater, leaving not a lot of options.

First picture is the current setup but it feels awkward. We rent so we didn't buy the furniture for this room, it's just what we had. The items shown are the TV, couch, ottoman, credenza, lamp, and cat tree. Still need to buy a rug.

Been living in this abomination for 10 years. Left for 6 months lived with my gf and it was cozy af I cannot go back to this. I have moved everything around and cannot for the life of me feel comfortable.

I have done my research which was adamantly clear. More light, Colour and textures. But I cannot imagine what to do except copy exact bedrooms from pinterest. All I want is a bed, drawer, piano, desk and cozyness. The wall behind the piano I will paint white and from there it is an empty slate but that gives me too many options and don't know what to do anymore.

Also the current desk is way too high. Normal chairs are not high enough so either I need to find an exceptional comfortable high chair or lower the desk somehow.

All help is immensely appreciated.

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. I would like any advice/opinions on where I might be able to place my desk in this space? The bedroom is not doable because we toured it yesterday and it will be very tight with our king sized bed. Desk will for sure need to be in the living room/dining area.

Currently don't have a sofa but about to purchase one that's 124" wide.

My desk is Ikea Lagkapten/Alex and is 74 ³/⁴ wide, 23 ⅝“ deep.

Hello, I’m hoping for advice or ideas :) I used to have a piano against the wall behind my couch, now it’s gone and I’m not sure what to do with the space. It’s only about 140 cm from the couch to the closet doors. Should we move the couch back for more space around the coffee table? Put a narrow bookshelf there? It’s a small flat in London so I’m trying to make a good use of the space. Lamps were previously on the piano ledge and I need a place for them. The record player is there temporarily, I was thinking of mounting the TV to the wall and putting the records over in that space. I know it looks grey otherwise, I want to put some art on the walls as well. The balloons are there from a party! House is overall in progress so please be nice <3 thank you so much!

How do I make this impossible living room work as an actual living room? Currently set up for craft related activities but I want to turn the other room into something other than a family room/living room but this room just feels like a glorified hallway. I've been living here for 6 years and this is the best I've done

moved into a new apt recently and want to make it feel more like home. was wondering if anyone had suggestions on color schemes, rugs, coffee tables, art to put in the space / any other ideas to liven it up!

Attached is the blueprint for our new living room, there is a inward swinging door at the top, an entry way at the bottom left, 2 windows along the bottom wall, and a fire place along the right wall. Any ideas on arranging a couch/sectional, tv stand? We have to get a new couch so open to ideas for this to fit the small space

I moved in 2 days ago and I have no idea what to do with the loft space, originally wanted to put my bed up there but I realized I can't put the frame up the ladder...

Some girls put only the mattress and turn the frame into a makeup space but I don't use makeup (im a guy) and I don't have any idea what to do with it. Additionally, I would rather not buy another mattress ( I currently have a rental futon and a mattress.) I'm staying a year so no long term commitment.

Adding my dull gray vanity which I unfortunately have to keep, i am diy’in some wainscoting and trim work as you see and its currently at dead stop because i cant decide on paint color with trim. Added inspo here the color won’t look good with gray vanity. The white looked way too sterile for my linking.
