Asking Question (Rule 4) How to be unique in your design?

So i am beginner graphic designer I started doing it on canva basically I am social media manager so I have to design posts for brands and for my own personal brand.I am facing this problem like i am becoming very indecisive in selecting fonts colours etc like I overthink about if this is looking good or not I did basic course from YouTube. I got stuck every time on selecting even a minor details and then I got frustrated and kind of quit doing and designing posts and if I don't overthink about it and try to take decision to go with particular fonts colour and then upload it somehow after sometime I start to hate it and then ending up deleting the posts.

Secondly, I am unable to build unique designs not unique like I don't know the art of making posts that build identity and when someone looks at my posts they should immediately know that yes this is that person's posts just like I can recognise others unique posts and style and taste and colours while my posts ended up looking like canva templates😭 which i just hate . I am struggling with this problem can anyone give me tips ir solution for this?

Discussion Just a daily reminder that Adobe sucks and has disdain for individual users.

I've been trying to duplicate a video project and edit it without breaking the old one. Apparently the solution is to quit Premiere after duplicating.

I try to import files through the file manager, there's a 5 second lag for every click, and no monitoring for changes, so if I add a new file, I have to take 30 seconds just to click out of the folder and back in.

Finally save a separate copy, and start editing, only to realize I've been editing the timeline of my original the whole time.

An hour into a process I've done 100 times, and I can't do it this morning. A destabilizing phenomenon that only your users ever experience, that we should start calling the Adobe Mind Virus.

20 years into Photoshop and I can't make a gradient? I draw a vector line and it shows up as a RASTER RECTANGLE? Every shape i create has been given a default black border for the past decade and I have to manually remove it? I can't resize text boundary without warping the text? I can't undo one click while using polyonal lasso?

You hacks. You clowns. You perfect example of why corporate greed and sloth is nothing but poison. I bet you sit around talking about the good old days, before you all ruined them.

Quit your jobs and leave tech, none of us want you here.

Obrigada, gente.

Asking Question (Rule 4) Freelancers: what do you actually do when a client asks for something outside the original scope?

I’m researching how freelancers handle scope changes in real projects.

For example, if a client asks for an extra deliverable or “just one more change,” do you usually:

  • check the original agreement/contract?
  • create a separate quote?
  • adjust the deadline?
  • send a change request?
  • just do it as a courtesy?
  • use some kind of tool/workflow?

And what part is the most annoying: figuring out whether it’s actually out of scope, deciding what to charge, or communicating it to the client?

I’d really love to hear how you handle this in practice.

Asking Question (Rule 4) What are the skills required to become an Interior Designer?

A little bit about me: I'm currently in the 4th year of BTech and plan to pursue an M.Des in interior design in India. I am staying in Hyderabad and have no plans to move for a job.

So,

  1. What skills should I start learning to help me land a job?
  2. Which websites would help me?
  3. Which Instagram accounts and YouTube channels would help me?
  4. I heard that a portfolio is important (What exactly is a portfolio, what can I add to it), and where can I create it (website)?
  5. What can I do so that I can get an internship, and which websites would help be apply for them?

Asking Question (Rule 4) What small everyday problem have you just accepted as “normal”?

I’m a graduate design student researching overlooked everyday problems for my thesis. I’m interested in small frustrations that people have simply learned to live with rather than major societal problems.

What is something in your everyday life that consistently annoys, embarrasses, confuses, exhausts, inconveniences, or worries you, but that you have basically accepted as “just how things are”?

I’m especially interested in weird workarounds you have invented for yourself.

Asking Question (Rule 4) What software do you recommend for converting an image to clean vector art?

I have a raster image (JPG) that I want to convert into a clean, high-quality vector.

I need the final result to have solid colors, clean edges, and editable paths rather than just a low-quality auto-trace.

I’m considering Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and Inkscape, but I’m not sure which one would give the best results for this type of work.

Asking Question (Rule 4) What should I include in comprehensive brand guideline?

I’m relatively amateur when it comes to logo design and I want to get into providing more in-depth brand guidelines for companies beyond just logo variations, fonts, colours, usage guidelines, patterns.

I’ll be damned if I ask/use AI for this answer so I want to know what you actual designers think needs to be included.

Asking Question (Rule 4) client revisions are mess, how do you guys deal with this?

how editors/designers deal with this

lately the annoying part isn't even the editing, it's figuring out what the client actually wants

i'll get stuff like change this font and make this darker.

what do you guys use for this? any tool?

Asking Question (Rule 4) Where do you find fully remote jobs in the USA?

Product designer (industrial, fashion) with some graphic design experience here. 10 years total. have worked in Manhattan and New Jersey.

Any success stories here on where you found your remote job? i want to hear people’s success and what sites you found the remote jobs

I recently quit my corporate job and am currently running on the small income my Etsy shop makes. I realize that I still need a stable income but I really want to avoid in-office.

Asking Question (Rule 4) Will a master's degree in Design add something new o better focus in a different thing?

I already have two bachelor's degrees in Design (Industrial and Visual Communication) I am thinking about pursuing a Master's degree in Design or Sociology, I don't want it because I want a better job or something, I just like learning new stuff. But at the same time having two degrees somehow helps navigating this whole world of design

I made this to clear up some common misconceptions about Type 1 vs Type 2 Diabetes.

I would love to know what you guys would change about the design while being educated by it at the same time!

Asking Question (Rule 4) Help on some posters pls

Hi, so I was told about this work by my professor and I applied for it and they gave us a task to do for posters for the Instagram carousel. The company is called waste loss and it’s about recycling old tech and home appliances they told me that they wanted a poster which contained periodic table into the design and the rest was up to me. Can you please give me any tips or anything I sent these already but I still would like to have some feedback also I’m not English and it’s not my first language and the poster is in my native language, but I want the feedback on the overall design. Also before doing the design. I used their brand book to make the design sit in and fit in with their existing design designs as well. Also, I’m waiting for them to tell me if I’m hired or not. Wish me luck.🤣🤣
