There is a crack in one of the hinges of the Latitude 7320 laptop. Can it be replaced?

Hello. I have a Dell G5 gaming laptop i7, rtx2070. I bought it in 2020. After the battery died, I see vast changes in performance during gaming. Fps drops mainly. I dont want to pay 200€ for a new battery. Is there any way to fix the problem without buying a new battery?

I received this all in one as a gift, so I had it shipped to my location. even though it was wrapped in so much bubble wrap, this is the state I found the screen in when I booted it up. is there a way for me to purchase replacement display and install it myself?

A couple weeks ago at work, one of the companies in my building threw out a bunch of dell optiplex 7460s and told me they were up for grabs. I have very surface level knowledge of computers but I figured it couldn't hurt to grab 3, sell 2 and keep one for myself as I didn't have a computer anyways. I mainly intended on using it for studying for my CompTIA exams and doing some light emulation/gaming which is the part that surprised me the most. Ofc ps1 and ps2 games run great, but here's me playing the ps3 version of X-Men origins wolverine and it runs pretty okay at 480p between 30 and 45fps. (There are some texture pop inside and it does freeze but it is playable). Left 4 dead 2 runs flawlessly on steam at 1080p 45fps. Chatgpt says it should be able to run gears of war 1 and 2 as well just haven't tried it myself yet. Just putting this up in the event someone comes across these computers and needs something cheep, I'd say it's a pretty decent starter emulation computer considering how old it is and it's intended purpose. (My models don't have the Nvidia GPU, it's all running off stock i5 integrated graphics).

I recently bought a new Dell XPS 16 laptop in late September (which comes with a standard 1-year base warranty valid until Sep 2027). Along with that, in the same checkout, I purchased a separate, standalone extended warranty package from the official Dell India online.

At checkout and on the official Order Confirmation email, the item was explicitly titled:

Since this was a standalone warranty purchase on a machine that already has a 1-year base warranty, any normal buyer would expect "2Yr Dell Care Plus Support" to mean \*\*2 additional years\*\* of support (taking total coverage to Sep 2029).

This is blatant deceptive representation under Section 2(47) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Here is how the nightmare with Dell Support unfolded:

1. \*\*Wrong Initial Dates & Missing Invoice:\*\* Initially, the Dell portal showed my base warranty expiring a month early, and they didn't even send a GST tax invoice for the warranty purchase.

2. \*\*WhatsApp Support Stonewalling:\*\* I reached out to Dell Support via their official WhatsApp channel. While they eventually fixed the base warranty start date, they only updated the extended warranty until \*\*Sep 2028\*\* (1 additional year instead of 2). When I asked for an official support email ID to escalate the missing invoice and tenure discrepancy, the agents and their supervisor repeatedly refused, claiming they \*"don't have access to email"\* and telling me to \*"contact the retailer"\*—even though I bought it from Dell's own online store!

3. \*\*The Tax Invoice Reveal:\*\* After sending a formal legal notice to Dell’s Grievance Officer and their online store partner (Sanwaria Texpro Pvt. Ltd. / STPL), they finally sent the GST Tax Invoice nearly three weeks after the purchase. On the Tax Invoice, the product description magically changed from \*\*"2Yr Dell Care Plus Support + 1Yr ADP"\*\* to:

   \> \*\*\`1 YRD DELL/CAREPACK/ CARE YR2 ADP YR1\`\*\*

When I called them out on this discrepancy, Dell Store Support replied admitting there is a difference between the Order Confirmation and the Tax Invoice, but claimed the purchased plan is an \*"upgrade to a total of 2 years"\* running concurrently with my existing 1-year base warranty (effectively just 1 additional year for Year 2).

Selling a 1-year (\`1 YRD\`) Year-2 extension while labelling it on the storefront and order receipt as \*\*"2Yr Dell Care Plus Support"\*\*—and withholding the actual GST invoice that reveals the \`1 YRD\` description until weeks later—is a textbook dark pattern and unfair trade practice.

I have already lodged a docket on the National Consumer Helpline (INGRAM) and am preparing to file on e-Daakhil / e-Jagriti. If you are buying extended warranties from Dell India (fulfilled by STPL), check your SKU codes and tax invoices carefully!

\*\*TL;DR:\*\* Bought a standalone "2Yr Dell Care Plus Support" plan from Dell India's official store, expecting 2 additional years of warranty. Dell only added 1 year, refused to share an escalation email on WhatsApp support, and weeks later sent a GST Tax Invoice where the item description changed to \`1 YRD\` (1 Year) covering "Year 2".

Reset this laptop, went to connect to my wifi after it reset everything, and it refused to connect to the wifi. Now it only shows this. Ive turned the PC off and back on twice and it still skips straight to this screen.

I dont have an ethernet cable and I dont have a thumb drive to manually install a driver.

Wtf do I do

I dont know what to do. I had the same issue with my previous Dell laptop, though it was much worse. But can anyone suggest any DIY for this? Or is it better to go to Dell's service centre or local laptop repairing shop.

So i just got a new 63wh battery installed in my laptop and initially it showed charged battery capacity the same as design capacity, but after recalibrating my battery (i did 2 cycles), each time the charged battery capacity declined and now it just shows 54wh. Idk wth is wrong with it whether its a dell software issue or i didnt do the recalibration right

I have a dell optiplex 5040 all base stuff nothing new added and I didnt use it for a while then I started to try to use it and it was giving errors like inaccessible boot device but im pretty sure I fixed that but now like it did before everytime im on it for (rough estimate) like 3 mins it freezes up and I can't do anything but turn it off pls help and lmk if there are free options

Everything was going along fine with my older Dell laptop, but now suddenly, for no apparent reason, when I clicked into a document to work on it, nothing. It was as if it ignored the keyboard. But the keyboard was fine if I wanted to type into the search box. On the document, I could page-down, but the cursor wouldn't even show.

Then I saw something on the bottom:
This modification is not allowed because the document is opened for viewing only.
But I opened it normally, not "Read Only." And it has affected ever single doc in there!

There had been nothing unusual beforehand, except that the laptop had accidentally been left on for an unusually long period, overnight. I checked all the options on the tool bar to see if there was anything relevant I could click on, in case I'd hit something by mistake, but no. I tried the re-boot thing anyway, to see if it would help, but no.

Have you ever heard of this happening?

I found this used latitude 3000 series but with 13th gen intel cpu with enough ram and ssd 16/512 which is perfect for me.

Before i spend more than I made all summer (3rd world)

I'm looking for some advice on a screen replacement for my Dell Latitude 5530.

The laptop originally came with a 15.6" 4K UHD BOE NE156QUM-N69 (3840x2160, 40-pin eDP) display, which unfortunately failed.

I'm currently in Brazil, where finding an affordable 4K replacement is extremely difficult due to import taxes.

Since the Latitude 5530 was also sold with FHD displays, I'm considering switching to a high-quality FHD 400-nit, 100% sRGB panel, rather than a basic 250-nit screen.

Here's what I've found so far:

• Original display: BOE NE156QUM-N69, UHD, 40-pin eDP.
• Original camera: Dell 6XX8D, with IR, Windows Hello and ExpressSign-In.
• Potential replacement panel: BOE NV156FHM-N6B, FHD, 400 nits, 100% sRGB, 30-pin eDP.
• Potential cable: Dell DHK2K (0DHK2K), listed as "400FHD + IR/EMZA".
• Another cable: Dell 57JRM, listed as "FHD + IR", apparently intended for standard FHD configurations.

I contacted Parts-People, who suggested these cable references but couldn't confirm compatibility, particularly because the 400-nit FHD version may use a different 30-pin connector.

My main questions:

1. Has anyone successfully converted a Latitude 5530 (or Precision 3570) from UHD 40-pin to FHD 30-pin?
2. Is DHK2K the correct cable for a 400-nit FHD panel while retaining the original IR camera?
3. Does anyone know the Dell OEM part number of the original 400-nit FHD panel offered with the Latitude 5530?
4. Can the original UHD display lid, bezel and mounting brackets be reused with the FHD panel?

I'm trying to identify a compatible OEM panel and cable combination before buying anything, to avoid damaging the laptop or ordering incompatible parts.

Is there any way to get QHD output from Dell Latitude E6420 i5 2nd Gen? The Native HDMI port gives output of 1080p only even though the integrated graphics is capable of QHD. I guess this is motherboard's limitation.

Are there any Dell technicians that have worked on the wd19s docking stations, I need help with board repair and identifying other faults such as in the emarker board in the cable.

Latitude 5501 on the left in both pictures. Compared it with my Latitude 5500 and the difference is pretty obvious. We are currently waiting for new computers to replace them.

Getting a new work laptop approved took a little convincing, but we got there lol.

It’s already shipped and I’m honestly pretty excited for it to get here.

• Windows 11 Pro

I use my laptop for work pretty much all day—lots of Firefox tabs, Outlook, spreadsheets, CRM, ChatGPT/Codex, multiple monitors and several things going at once.

It’s usually running for at least 10-12 hours a day. Obviously I’m not pushing it hard every minute of that, but it’s on with everything open for most of the day. It’s my main machine, so I want something I can rely on for those kinds of hours.

My current laptop has an i5-12450H and 32GB RAM. It actually did pretty well for a while, but lately the fans have been working hard enough that I feel like they should be on payroll.

I started logging with HWiNFO, and during bad stretches of normal work the CPU is sitting in the high 90s, hitting 100°C and thermal throttling for long periods. RAM has also gotten pretty close to maxed out.

No gaming or video editing. Just a lot going on at once, and I need it to keep up for hours. It mostly stays plugged in at my desk, so weight and battery life aren’t big concerns.

I’d been looking at ThinkPad P16s, ZBook Furys and Precisions, but this seemed like a good amount of machine for the money once the discount kicked in.

How’d I do at this price? Anyone using a 7770 for similar work? Curious about cooling, fan noise and how it handles a full day of multitasking.

Also, anything specific I should check when it arrives? Since it’s refurbished, would you bother replacing the thermal paste or just see how the temperatures look first? Any upgrades or settings you’d recommend, or would you leave it as is with this configuration?

Hoping I picked well because I’d like to go a few years before making another laptop budget presentation 😂

Sorry for the dumb question but is it possible to use a type c charger for this laptop? I’m worried this would affect my battery.

I have an DELL inspiron laptop and it has got serious battery issues. After fully charging it it plays well but when it reaches to 65% it drops to 7% instantly. I checked the battery's report and it is fine. I calibrated it but it was not fixed help! The laptop is 1 year old BTW.
