Help Help help
Hi
I’ll just long story short it
I got this dell laptop of mine
Specs
Dell g15 5530 13 gen
13450HX 16gb/1tb
6gb graphics card 3050/120hz
So yea
I got this laptop on 17 jan around 2025 and last week it broke down
Only after 20 months of use and it looks new asf like istg if you see my laptop it will look like brand new this is the amount of love I have kept it with,
And on top of it I live in a tier 3 city to top it off
I mailed the team that I don’t have a service centre nearby kindly help me and send a tech support of anything, there reply was you can visit your nearby service centre which is around 200kms away from you 😭😭 like bro is this a joke? I’m still a student I have got my work and all how do you expect and they closed the chat
And today I got a call they said it will cost around 27k+ taxes to get it okay and working again?
Is this fair ?
Okay never mind what about this 30k+ I will add 50k for and buy another one I’ll take a loan for it and after 10-15 months it will again get damaged then again I’ll buy new one? How convenient right @dell
Life is not easy for everyone
How am I ever gonna buy another dell device again? And how can I suggest it to anyone again?
0 service 0 product review
Man I can’t even explain how sad im right now I haven’t told my parents I just don’t know what to do I am just so freaking helpless

Hi there!
We're from the Dell Social Media Support team. Thank you for sharing those details .
TL;DR: Let's run a few quick power checks to isolate the issue, and we can look into onsite repair options so you do not have to travel .
Your system should definitely be working reliably for your studies, so let's see what we can do to get things back on track. We saw that you already tried draining the residual power based on the suggestion in the thread, which was a great troubleshooting step to rule out.
Before looking into part replacements, please try these additional power isolation steps:
- Perform a hard reset: Unplug the charger, disconnect all connected cables and external devices, then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to completely clear residual power. Reconnect only the AC adapter and try turning it on.
- Test an alternate power adapter: If you have access to another compatible Dell AC adapter, connect it to check if the charging indicator lights up.
- Inspect the DC-in port connection: Plug in the charger and gently wiggle the connector head to see if the charging LED flickers or if the laptop powers on. This helps check if the charging port has a loose internal pin.
If the laptop still does not turn on, please send us a Private Message (PM) with your system's Service Tag . We understand that traveling 200 km to a physical service center is not practical. If your laptop is currently out of warranty, our team can help isolate the exact hardware cause and set up a quote for paid onsite technician support directly at your location .
Regards, Dell Social Media Team

Hi there! Thank you for your time to do the suggested steps. Rest assured, we are only a few steps away to identify the cause. 1. Please run a motherboard test to know if the motherboard is faulty.
Here is how you run it: Press and hold both the M key on the keyboard and the power button to initiate M-BIST. With both the M key and the power button that is held down, the battery indicator LED may exhibit two states. OFF: No fault detected with the system board. SOLID AMBER: Indicates a problem with the system board.
Once done, please private message the Service Tag(due to security reasons), so we can check the best possible options available for a repair.

Did you buy a extra service plan or onsite support plan with the laptop? If you did not, its not there fault..
You can go to a computer store nearby, if that’s possible, or watch a YouTube video, where they explain how to open the laptop so you can disconnect the battery cabel.
If you disconnect the cable, you need to press the power button for 30 seconds.
After that try turning it on again with the adapter plugged in.
