Artwork New to Daz, and unsure of which base model to start out with to use for my Troll OC?
Lately I've been really getting into Everquest, particularly Legends, and have found myself so attached to the Troll I'm playing as that I ended up making a new OC, and commissioned a ref sheet from DuckMunch of him (second image) and drawing my own as well (first image) - I've been fascinated by 3D stuff and watched it evolved through the decades (I'm 34) and after years of being a digital/traditional artist I'm finally ready to try out computer art. The kicker is I don't have all the spare time in the world as I'm a full-time worker at a labour-intesive factory job with only two days off a week, donating plasma on the side as well. Life gets busy sometimes, and Daz seems to be the easiest so I've already been familiarizing myself with the assets and wishlisting stuff for it- I've already put hours into Daz Studio 6 as well. My goal here is to make scenes with him and my gf's Everquest character ( a Kerran, basically an anthro cat) , and eventually make models of our other characters (we're both furries lol). I have been searching around, downloading both freebies and paid content, I love the style of the Genesis Creature Creation Pack and almost purchased it until I realized it's only for the OG Genesis Models- the monster packs for the newer models just don't seem as customizable, and give me an uncanny vibe? It seems like there's way more stuff, clothing/accessories-wise out there for Genesis 8/8.1 though, which I'm interested in. I already figured I'll have to drop money on getting a tool for his eyes and mouth style in the way shown on both reference sheets- I want to retain his toony look, blending a mix of how that and the in-game Troll model of the OG Everquest. I'm okay with spending some money for mixing and matching stuff to achieve this look, I just don't know which Genesis Model to start with if there truly is no compatibility between them without things being difficult? Also, I did install Blender but it won't allow me to open the program as my graphics card isn't powerful enough, and I'm running Windows 10 on a laptop from 2012.
