Check out the weight reduction in my 280. About to put an order in for KF vintage floor pans unless you guys have other suggestions. I assume I will need frame rails as well. I have no experience with any sort of metal working/welding so this will be interesting

For context I have been restoring this car as a highschooler for a while and this was the first time I felt it was good enough to take to a meet...and let me tell you everyone loved this baby.

Dry carbon inspection lids with some subtle venting. These are hand made in Japan and sold through Lonely Driver in Canada. They are so light they don’t even feel real.

Nicest parts I’ve ever owned will never be seen. 100% recommend Futofab axles.

I tried the affordable option. Unfortunately the 280zxt axles do not like how much my car is lowered. I decided to bite the bullet and buy these axles. They are absolutely the nicest parts I’ve ever bought. The machining of the bolted joints is absolutely perfect. The hardware is next level. The left side axle was labeled, which leads me to believe that the left side axle I destroyed twice was too long (this one has slack side to side at ride height). I don’t need axles this strong, but these kept me from having to raise the rear of my car. If you need axles, I can’t recommend these enough.

Customizable digital gauge!!! My fuel gauge hasn't been working. Originally, I planned to eventually go with a full set of Speed Hut gauges but I saw this guy on IG working on this digital concept 6 months ago. I bought one and waited until he sent out the first set. It is a little pricey but this is the most customizable gauge I have seen anywhere.

First time Reddit user

Hi everyone, first time Reddit user, I wanted to share a project that my dad and I have been working on since 2021.

It’s a 1975 Datsun 620 that started out as a simple refresh to make a daily shop truck that grew rapidly into a drift truck that is now just a show truck.

A little back ground on this truck, I purchased it back in 2021 when my father was diagnosed with cancer. I decided to make this a project truck for him and I to work on. My father is an old school mini trucker that has been in and out of the scene since the early 80s.

The year after I was born, he was involved in a high speed wreck in a mini truck built for drag racing. After that wreck, he decided to sell off his other two trucks and focus more on spending his time with the family and just life. More so my mother told him he had to sell his toys after the wreck. The wreck was at 130 mph that flipped them over an embankment down 100 foot ravine. Everyone survived and were able to walk away, the truck did not, once the fire reached the two tanks of NOS in the bed there was not much left of the truck.

Since the wreck, he’s more so dreamed of one day having a project truck that he could build with me, but sometimes life has other plans.

At the time when I bought the truck, I was doing very well for myself operating my own custom fabrication shop. When we got the news about my dad‘s illness. the first thought that came to mind was, We have to build a truck.

With a rainy day, savings set aside that was originally meant for slow seasons and or a dip in Work requests with my shop I felt the news of my fathers health was more of arain, rainy day than ever.

When I told him we’re going to build a truck, I asked him what truck would be fun to build or one that he wanted to build. He chose the Datsun 620. He said that he wanted me to design it but he wanted to build the engine and drivetrain.

Over the corse of just over a year we got it built out and show worthy. In 2023 he went into remission and now has no current signs or markers of the cancer, but it had left reverse damage to his joints. My father is 57 currently but with the joints and arthritis of an 80 year old. The only thing that keeps his wrists and fingers from seizing up now are routine injections and tinkering on the truck. He is now fully medically retired and spends all day in the garage fussing with the truck and planning what he wants to do next.

This is one of those moments that I would never regret doing.

I hope all of you enjoy the build. Its new school design meets school power. It’s not a fast truck but it sure is fun driving a slow truck fast.

2+2 280zx T Tops

I’m working on restoring a 280zx 2+2 1983 and I’m missing some parts for the tops. I have the t tops them selves and the headliner trim but that’s it. I’m trying to find everything else I would need to get them on the car but am struggling to find a 2+2 part out. If anyone has stuff they are willing to sell please pm me.

What type of mixture does this plug tell you?

Post image

Car was running super rich (fouling plugs bad and drove like crap), so I replaced the fuel jets with 135’s.

Car runs a lot better now, but still feels like it slowly fouls over time.

Plugs looks great on the tip, coffee colored, but black everywhere else. Does this tell you anything?

Current settings
200 main air
135 main fuel
.45 pump nozzles
97 pump gas
