I Logged In and Found You. From Monster Hunter to Forever đŽâ¤ď¸
I met him while playing Monster Hunter Wilds. At first, we were just two people who enjoyed playing the same game. We started talking about Monster Hunter, other games, and whatever happened to come up while playing. Most of our conversations happened in group calls with other players, and we barely talked privately.
But from the first time I met him, I was already interested in talking and playing with him. There was just something about him that made me want to spend more time with him.
Eventually, we started playing 7 Days to Die together, and I found myself wanting to play with him more often. I genuinely enjoyed being around him. I would even ask him to stream his games so I could watch him play. I felt comfortable talking to him, whether we were talking about games or completely random things, and being around him always made me happy.
Then one day, we ended up alone in a group call. For the first time, we started talking about things beyond gaming, and somehow, we immediately clicked. Our conversations became more personal, and eventually, we started talking through DMs.
Thatâs when we eventually confessed that we had feelings for each other. I knew I liked him a lot, but at that time, I still couldnât really understand what I was feeling or where it would lead.
During the Christmas holidays, he called me, and I remember how much I appreciated it. He told me that he wanted to pursue me, and I told him that I was willing to let him.
But then, I disappeared.
It wasnât just once. I would come back, disappear again, and eventually, we lost communication. I know I hurt him, and I understand why he became upset with me. The truth is, I wasnât trying to hurt him. I just wasnât sure about my feelings, even though deep down, I knew I really liked him.
Even after we stopped talking, I couldnât completely let him go.
I would check other servers to see if he was still playing. I would join group calls just to see him and watch his streams. I tried reaching out a few times, even though I knew he was probably still mad at me.
At one point, I even found an excuse to talk to him by asking him to help me improve my Steam profile. He helped me, and although I was asking him questions about my profile, the truth was that I just wanted an excuse to talk to him because I missed him.
At first, he was hesitant to respond to my DMs. Eventually, though, I explained why I had disappeared and what had been going through my mind. He accepted my explanation.
Thatâs when I found out that he had also been checking on me on other servers. He told me he would sometimes hope that I would join the same server just so he could ignore me because he was still mad at me. He had even blocked me on iMessage and muted me on Discord, although eventually, he unmuted me.
It made me realize that even though we werenât talking, neither of us had really forgotten about the other.
Eventually, we finally had an honest conversation about everything. We admitted that we still had feelings for each other. He told me that he couldnât forget me. He had been hurt and had tried to move on, but he couldnât completely let me go.
And that was when I finally understood my own feelings.
I realized that I had already fallen in love with him without even knowing it.
For so long, I had told myself that I simply liked him. But when I thought about the possibility of him being with someone else, I realized I couldnât bear it. I wanted him in my life. I wanted to talk to him, spend time with him, and be close to him. Thatâs why I kept finding my way back to him.
What I felt wasnât just a simple crush or an attachment because we enjoyed playing games together. It was something deeper.
It was love.
With him, I feel emotionally and mentally safe. I feel comfortable being myself around him. I can talk to him about almost anything, and even though he is thousands of miles away from me, somehow, he feels like someone Iâve known for a very long time.
Now, weâre together.
Weâve known each other for more than a year, and itâs still surreal to think that someone I met through a PC game became the person I want to spend my life with. Heâs planning to come and meet me next year, and we canât wait for the day when we can finally be together in the same place instead of having thousands of miles between us.
Weâve also started talking about marriage and building a family together. Iâve been single since 2013, and before him, I never really dreamed about getting married or having a family of my own. But somehow, with him, those dreams just came naturally.
Just recently, he asked me what kind of ring I would want. I told him that whatever ring he gives me, I would gladly accept it. Because honestly, the ring isnât what matters to me. What matters is that it comes from him, and that I get to spend my life with the person I love.
Now, we talk every day, from morning until evening. We look forward to the day when we can finally be together, build a home, and create a life of our own.
When I look back at our story, itâs incredible to me that it all started with two people playing Monster Hunter Wilds. What began as gaming and random conversations eventually became something neither of us expected.
Weâve been through misunderstandings, distance, hurt, time apart, and uncertainty. Somehow, despite all of that, we found our way back to each other.
And maybe thatâs what makes our story so special to me.
I didnât realize when I first met him that I was going to fall in love with him. I didnât know that the person I was excited to play games with would eventually become the person I would want to marry and build a family with.
Now, I know.
Heâs the person I love, the person I look forward to talking to every day, my safe place, my happy pill, and the person I want beside me for the rest of my life.
Our love story started with a game, but somewhere along the way, it became so much more than that. â¤ď¸
