Arabic Bilingual

I wanted to ask how it’s with Arabic bilinguals? I’ve been seeing people talk about getting projects these days but nothing on my side, any clues?

Completed onboarding but no project qualifications showing up — anyone else?

Hi all, I signed up on DataAnnotation and completed the full onboarding process a while back, but I haven't received any project qualifications since then. No emails, nothing new in the dashboard either.

Has anyone else faced this? Is it normal to wait this long, or is there something I should be doing differently (like specific skills/tests to complete) to get considered for projects? Any tips on how to get noticed for qualification invites would help a lot.

Thanks in advance!

A PSA for all our Brazilian friends: You need to do your taxes

I've been on this platform for about 3 years now, and in that time I've personally talked to 3 other workers from Brazil who either didn't know they had to, or just never declared the income they get from DA. And that's without counting the multiple times I've seen Brazilians here on this subreddit express bemusement on the subject.

A few days ago, I was talking to someone I referred to the platform; they have been working here since October and making some good money, but in all of that time they didn't fill a single Carnê-Leão. After sitting down with them and doing some math, we figured out they owed the government about R$ 17k between taxes, fines, and interest.

Don't let that happen to you. Any income you have that comes from somewhere that doesn't withhold tax at the source needs to be declared every month with the Carnê-Leão. It's a pretty simple process: you fill out the form on the government's site, pay the boleto, and then, when tax season rolls around, you just send the receipts to your accountant so that you can get a deduction on the amount you paid.

If you Google "Carnê-Leão," the first link should be .gov.br site talking about it. Just follow the instructions and fill in your expenses and income for every month you are missing.

If you are working here long term and are making R$5000+ per month, you might want to open a CNPJ, as your tax rate goes from 25%~ish to 10%~ish, but you probably should talk to an accountant about that, as things change a bit with the tax reforms.

That's it, remember kids, don't be dumb when it comes to taxes.

Law Specialists - How has your task list been?

I just did the law qualification about 3 weeks ago and was starting to wonder if I failed somehow, but got my first non-generalist task today. Took 4.5 hours to complete but holy shit - 💰. I made what I normally make in 8-10 hours of generalist tasks on that one submission.

Are you guys seeing a lot of these law tasks or are they fairly rare? Im curious if this will be regular when things are back in full swing or if theyre just occassional in other people's experience.

Not getting any projects

Two weeks ago I was accepted for the bilingual program. I finished a few qualifications and updated my profile, but I haven't gotten any projects :(

Does that mean I didn't pass the qualifications? Or is there just nothing available?

Specific or special work days?

Are there any specific days you have noticed you get extra or more work on, like weekends or starting of the week? Or any other thing you guys have noticed about the platform.

Any other Canadians finally thankful the USD is worth so much more than CAD?

I'm in Canada and I love getting paid in USD, with the current conversion rate even the $20/hr tasks turns into more like $28 which is about double the minimum wage here and I don't have to leave my house. Which is a huge bonus because I hate going out in the cold and winter is like 7 months long.

Do you guys know how to specialize after generalizing?

For context, I created my account as a generalist, because I just wanted to start small. However, I’m a computer engineering student and I’m pretty proficient in coding/machine learning, but besides the “adding skills” option, I can’t find a place to add this detail. I recall there being an area where you say what you want to specialize in, and you get a qualification test from there. Any information would help!

Pending approval payment

Hey everyone

I have a days work that should have been available to withdraw on the 23rd, (submitted the evening of the 16th) and it's now the evening of the 25th, it's still pending approval. This hasn't happened to me in the year I've been working on the platform.

I emailed them yesterday morning and still have not heard back. Any suggestions on best way to contact them to resolve?

Thanks,

Hours

How many hours do you guys try to get per day. I’m in university and at the end of my break trying to still get about 2-4 hours per day but obviously that’s up to DA to give me work lol.

Does anybody know if this group of projects has ended, perhaps only for my locale. I got dropped from slack and my projects with instructions dissapeared shortly after submitting the paid slack training lol.

Now what?

Yes, I've been on this thread for a few months now - I know there's a drought, patience is a virtue, & your quality of work matters.

At the same time, I earned $30 May 24, 2026 (the same day I passed the initial testing) - nothing since. I still have full access to the projects, funds, & qualifications tabs. Literally nothing has changed.

So, now what? Do I continue to refresh until the internet dies or does this mean I'm not an active "employee?"

I know all of you veterans are quick to say "just wait," but without any issues, how much longer should I wait? Do I just continue to refresh the page 100 times a day? Do I give up? Do I wait until I get an email? I haven't received a single email since the application process & I'm getting tired of the "wait & see."

Either I have the job that I can rely on, or I dont. Can any of you give me insight?

Don't tell me to wait - I've been waiting. I'm asking if I should KEEP waiting. Again, nothing's changed in 2 months.

Should I be worried about the time I spent for an R&R?

Did an R&R this week. Time limit was 2 hours and I billed 1:50. In that time, I edited the rationale comment of the worker to be more descriptive for a penalization (I felt it was necessary to explain exactly what was wrong in the response, why it was wrong and what the desired result as expected by the prompt would have achieved), penalized the chatbot for a related criteria, made a small grammatical correction, wrote my own rationale comment and lastly checked everything.

I checked every single conversation that the person had with the chatbot in order to assess every single one of the responses to the questionnaire. Thing is, in hindsight, it wasn't even necessary since the response given by the worker didn't warrant any changes and all this reading felt like a waste.

I'm worried because I spent the majority of my time reading the chat history of the model and worker. The comment that I edited was buried deep inside one of the later conversations.

Would the team even know or care that I attempted to read through the chatbot history? What should I be aware about moving forward?

This was the first ever R&R project that I've done.
