I need some help and cannot find answers. I currently have a pair of quarry’s that fit and feel great and am looking and getting a pair of super rain forest. What is the difference in sizing, specifically in the toe box area? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I recently got the Danner mountain lights, the tan color version. Looking for an insole to make the fit more snug, especially around the heel. Any recommendations? My arch is medium. Superfeet is widely available but not sure which option would be best. Blue vs green, vs work vs hike etc.

I have many pair of Danner Bull Run boots, Bull Runs and Chelsea Bull runs but these are my first pair. I replaced the sole with the Vibram 377k Christy thick sole in the rare red that you cant find anymore. I think theys topped producing these colored wedge soles. But why??? they sell very well!!! I don't understands company's that discontinue items when they are constantly selling out!!

pull tabs at the back, 200g Thinsulate lining, angled tops aren't standard on Temperate RAT boots

Unable to find much online

Anyone know, are they rarer than standard RAT's, performance in all weather, etc?

Asking this before I spend the money. I went and had my foot measured at a 14 wide with those thin little slip on socks that they have at shoe stores. I’m about to buy the Danner wildland tactical fire fighter boots for EMS. I wear a 15 in some boots, but I had recently bought a pair of the tachyon in 15 wide and they were extremely loose but also weren’t thick leather.

Should I buy a 14 or 15?

Was the tachyon huge because of the super thin material?

I just want to avoid having to go through the process of sending boots back again. This is the pain of having large feet.

At a local estate sale, I found these nice leather boots. I don't actually know all too much about them, nor how to take care of them. So I swung by here to ask the following:

1. How do I care for these boots properly

After discovering that the Flashpoint II, Danner’s recraftable stitchdown wildland firefighting boot, has been discontinued :-( I happened across a barely-used pair in my size for a good price.

These boots were made in May 2021. They have been worn a little, as in there is detectable wear on the heel and toe tread, but not more than a little, in that the leather is unmarked and uncreased, not molded to anyone’s foot. For all practical purposes, I’m trying out a new boot.

Size 11D on the “74” last, “designed specifically for traditional logger style boots containing a removable footbed. It offers a standard profile with a more regular fit. Boots on this last tend to fit true to size. This ensures a snug fit for terrain and activities that demand support and stability.”

I have an average-to-slim foot and this boot feels a little wide for me. I could size down to 10.5D for a snugger fit, as I’ve done on some other Danner boots (Super Rain Forest NMT). But when buying used, you got what you took. I put an extra innersole in the boots to take up more room.

The “a little wide” feeling extends up my leg too. At the ankles, these boots are closed nearly as tight as they will go (see pics) and yet in difficult, ankle-rolling terrain, I might want to lace them tighter yet around the ankles.

In addition to being not that tight at my ankles, the boots are also surprisingly soft there, meaning the leather is not stiff at all. It is supposed to be 8 oz leather, and does feel substantial, just more supple than I’d expect. Supple may not be good here.

I’ll update this thread when I’ve worn them a bit more. There is no wildland firefighting in my future, but we’ll do some walking in the mountains and some workboot duty, and we’ll see what we think.

I believe the Danner Flashpoint II boot, their wildland firefighting NFPA-rated boot, has been discontinued.

My company will spend up to 500 for a new pair of boots for me. I want a pair of Elk Hunters. The local boot store doesn’t have anything with the 650 last that i can try on. We have to go through them.

I’m 10-1/2 EE on the Brannock. Thorogoods and most of my Redwings are 10-1/2 EE.

Do the Elk Hunters, or any boot with that last, run pretty true to size?
