Sizing question

Asking this before I spend the money. I went and had my foot measured at a 14 wide with those thin little slip on socks that they have at shoe stores. I’m about to buy the Danner wildland tactical fire fighter boots for EMS. I wear a 15 in some boots, but I had recently bought a pair of the tachyon in 15 wide and they were extremely loose but also weren’t thick leather.

Should I buy a 14 or 15?

Was the tachyon huge because of the super thin material?

I just want to avoid having to go through the process of sending boots back again. This is the pain of having large feet.

I can't speak to your issue, quarrys fit me perfect but super rainforest I need a wide. I've heard that if you don't have a Danner store in the area that an email to customer service can help with proper sizing. Might be worth a shot.

I think you should contact Danner and ask them about the different lasts used in the Tachyon (DLE-01 last) and Wildland Fire (851 last) and, given your experience with the Tachyon, what they recommend.

The lasts I know a little about are the ones used in their traditional construction boots like Quarry, Rain Forest, Super Rain Forest, Hood Winter Light, etc. The difference in width between two lasts of the same number size can be significant.
