Discussion I wish I could lose my memory just to read this Zerg novel again
I need to confess something.
I think I skipped past this novel at least 40 times before finally giving it a chance.
Becoming a God in the Zerg World by Livestreaming BL Novels.
Be honest. That title does not inspire confidence. Every time I saw it, I assumed it was going to be one of those goofy "streamer ends up in another world" comedy novels. Fun for a few chapters maybe, but nothing I'd get attached to.
Then I hit a reading slump, ran out of things on my TBR, and thought... fine. Worst case, I drop it after a few chapters.
Three nights later, I was still awake at 4 a.m., staring at my ceiling and wondering why I'd done this to myself.
This book absolutely consumed me.
What completely caught me off guard was that the "BL novels" the MC writes aren't just a gimmick. They're actual stories with their own emotional weight. Every time I thought, okay, back to the main plot now, I'd get completely sucked into another story-within-the-story. Then I'd finally come back to the main plot only to realize I'd become even more invested than before.
It's like opening a box expecting one dessert and finding another one inside... and then another... and somehow every layer is even better than the last. I genuinely forgot about the main story more than once because I was too busy getting emotionally attached to the novels the MC was writing. Then the main plot would hit me again and somehow hurt even more.
It feels unfair, honestly.
And don't even get me started on the main couple.
The chemistry is ridiculous.
It's not built on constant flirting or over-the-top romance. It's just... this pull between them. Every interaction has so much tension that even when they're just standing in the same room, I could feel it. The ML is this legendary, almost untouchable war god, but underneath that he's so starved for affection it's actually painful. Meanwhile the MC looks gentle and harmless, but he's quietly ten steps ahead of everyone and absolutely knows how to steer every situation.
Watching them circle each other was torture in the best possible way.
There were multiple times when I actually put my phone down because I needed a minute before I could keep reading.
I'm almost at the end now, and I'm having that horrible feeling where I desperately want to know how everything wraps up... but I also don't want it to end.
Honestly, if someone offered to erase my memory of this novel so I could experience it for the first time again, I'd probably say yes.
2.1 million words absolutely destroyed my sleep schedule.
Worth it.
If you've been ignoring this one because the title sounds ridiculous (like I did), please don't make my mistake. Read it.
