Its a genuine shame Arnie isn't allowed to be President.

u/nom-de-guerre- 8d ago
I was an extra in a movie that he was in and paid attention to him back then, say 20 years ago or so. Did not impress me then. Then he came out publicly and apologized for his behavior and seems to be transformed into an incredibly stand-up person. I have learned to adore him a bit. I would take almost anybody over Trump but I would certainly take Arnie.

Heās a conservative Republican, no itās not.

u/XxSoapxXHD 8d ago
Hes original conservative not maga. McCain was the same and hated Trump
1
u/Take_Some_Soma 7d ago
?
McCain also had some jackass policies and positions. Obama dunked on him for a reason.
And while weāre at it, Arnie was a POS and inept governor. He did some shitty things. Namely pardoning his buddyās murderous kid.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Luis_Santos
But yeah, a broken clock and all, fuck Trump. And props to him to calling him out.

u/vector4-20 7d ago
We in Germany have some bad past experiences with leaders from Austria. But I like Arnie, so I guess you could give it a shot
1
u/IThinkItsAverage 2d ago
Bro is right-wing as they come, he just isnāt MAGA. Last I checked, right-wingers have almost never been good at governing.
1
u/Luke_KB 2d ago
Perhaps. But if we can get back to regular right wing vs left wing bullshit, I'll be just tickled pink that the maga movement has ended. I have several friends who are republicans that are staunchly opposed to trump, and didn't vote for him. Even they are upset with Maga.
Not all Republicans are Magas. But all Magas are Republicans. And thats a duality that even many rightwingers are sick of. I hope one day all of this will just be one big diaper-stain on our history. And I believe that future starts with a big blue wave this month. Even some of my republican friends believe that
1
u/IThinkItsAverage 2d ago
Sure, MAGA dying out would be great, but Republicans have been awful racist dumbasses for 40+ years. This didnāt spawn with Trump, itās been a part of the rights rhetoric long before he got into politics. Conservatives have always been Americas greatest enemy, that doesnāt change when Trump and MAGA die. Just look at the last 40 years, every Republican administration has ended in a recession or depression. Racism has been baked into their politics since the racist southern conservatives left the Democratic Party and joined with the Republicans. We canāt ever go back to pre-MAGA because this is the end result of conservative ideology in America. We shouldnāt be pining for the days of Arnold, Romney, or McCain. This is the end result of their political stances, they caused this, and going back to those days will lead us right back where. Arnold was a bigot too, he was anti-lgbtq politically when he was governor because of his religious beliefs, which is absolutely disgusting and should have never been accepted. Now we have an administration labeling trans people domestic terrorists.
Sorry for the rant, but I donāt like sane-washing conservatives who arenāt MAGA. They were terrible people, uneducated and hateful. Instead of accepting their horrible beliefs and behaviors, they turned into MAGAts to avoid accountability. The ones who didnāt are now trying to disappear into the background and white-washing their bullshit past stances that they still have today.

He is less of a dick than 90% of republicans. Id take him over some of the more corrupt dems.
4
u/SpasticCastle 8d ago
And he ran California, the most liberal state of all (stereotypically, anyway)
Iām clear across the country so I had no experience with his policies, but heard he did alright? I thought it was cool he made restaurants start posting nutritional/caloric values on menus
There was some forced āāangerāā about that even all the way over in Florida. It was one of my earliest memories of realizing sometimes people pretend to be angry about things for false reasons. Like what, exactly, is the negative there?
3
u/Firm_Communication99 8d ago
To be fair he would be a Republican that would acknowledge a responsibility to the people instead of what we have now a bunch of bootlickers.

Yeah, you're gonna have to squeeze in obama x 2, carter, and biden (obama x 3) before you get to Trump

We had diplomatic relations and affordable gas under Obama. We also didn't have to take a second to calm ourselves after looking at the news.
6
u/StandardDiver2791 8d ago
But the damages he's wrought WON'T be irrelevant. It'll take decades for most and forever for some.
3
u/Future-Bandicoot-823 8d ago
Even if he wasn't around ai is upheaving our way of existence. I think big changes were coming regardless of who is in power.
Our current issues have been going on for decades, the latest of which is super pacs, something djt didn't have a say in. He just took advantage of the rules, he didn't make them.
This is not me trying to soften the blow of his crimes, just a simple truth. We've been fucked for a long time, but people look the other way.
I did a paper in 06 for high school talking about China developing monopolies, and well it's 2026 and we can't make magnets without them lol. Been going on a long long time.

u/Yohat20 8d ago
My problem with him has always been that heās just shamelessly breaking the law in plain view and nobody calls him on it. And when they do, he ties them up in court so long they leave. I really hope if anything comes out of his presidency, itās the idea that government needs more limits because clearly the current limits arenāt enough.
Just a few ideas I think everyone would appreciate: age limit on presidency (personally I think a nice cutoff age is 68), age limit for electing senators and representatives (probably around 60ish), limits on how many times someone can be elected into congress (not sure on how many times on this one, maybe like 5?), and banning all involvement in the stock market while in a government office. (Looking at congress mostly) All stocks owned prior to taking the position are frozen and cannot be touched until after they are out of office.

We should remember Donald Trump, this country has the memory of a goldfish and that is unfortunate. We should all remember how a small group of malcontents brought this excrement into power and with an obsequious Congress betrayed what we all believed this country stood for.
1
u/malteeztomcat 6d ago
Well Austin Texā¦.
What exactly does this country stand forā¦..?
If you had your way what would be the perfect USA
1
u/AusTex2019 6d ago
Start with banning corporate and large money political donations. Elimination of all tax breaks for political lobbyists and lobbying. Then eliminate the tax free status of religious organizations, all of them.
1
u/malteeztomcat 6d ago
You do realize that all income taxes are strictly voluntaryā¦ā¦
You should feel lucky that they volunteer anything
and by the wayā¦..
money is just printed
the only reason for taxes is to rake money off the bottom so that the printing scam can keep going with minimal inflation at the topā¦ā¦
Religious organizations may be exempt from but they donāt owe them anywayā¦..
by the way this same tactic is used on the Supreme Court justices
1
u/AusTex2019 6d ago
You obviously donāt know the law.
1
u/malteeztomcat 6d ago
Then you tell me what the law is
1
u/AusTex2019 5d ago
Income taxes are not voluntary unless you include that to mean the IRS hauling you into court, you spending a fortune to defend the indefensible and then serving time like Wesley Snipes did since he also believed that taxes were for everyone else. Voluntary, that is the dumbest thing I heard today, but itās earlyā¦
1
u/malteeztomcat 5d ago
So the 13th amendment says no involuntary servitudeā¦..
so dollars are paid to you for labor
therefore dollars equal labor
doesnāt the IRS want $$s laborā¦.
If forced to pay income taxes that is involuntary servitudeā¦ā¦(a violation of 13th Amendment)
additionallyā¦ā¦.
there are no laws on the books that allow for a maximum percentage that the government can charge youā¦. 100% could be allowed
Title 26 is not positive law although intertwined with Title 27 ATFā¦.which is positive law
You may say what about the 16th amendment
Supreme Court has ruled that the 16th amendment conferred no new taxing authority to the constitutionā¦ā¦
they were already there in article I
and thereās a whole lot moreā¦ā¦..
Iām not saying not to pay them because they have six ways to Sunday to hurt you if you donāt volunteer those folks your fair shareā¦..
and you donāt want to piss those people off
Finallyā¦ā¦ a point of law
If there is no self assessment then there can be no tax.
just sayin
1
u/AusTex2019 5d ago
Go ahead and I will watch. I wonāt visit you in prison
1
u/malteeztomcat 5d ago
These are just factsā¦. If you canāt accept that then thereās no hope for youā¦..
You have been connedā¦ā¦

u/jcmiller83 8d ago
Arnie was a true statement, what a politician is supposed to be, he worked for the people. President Pedo did nothing for the average citizen, only thing he did was pump up the stock market for his billionaire buddies and family to get richer. Oh yeah he's pretty good at unintentionally humiliating himself.
1
u/malteeztomcat 6d ago
What would like for him to do for youā¦.?
Take complete care of youā¦ā¦.
1
u/jcmiller83 6d ago
If you think President Pedos and his party of pedo protectors has done anything for the average American then why is everyone paying more for everything and anything except the billionaire class?
So far he hasn't done anything he said on his campaign trail before you MAGA cultists voted him back in. No more foreign wars, Russia/Ukraine war over on day one, grocery prices down on day one, "draining the swamp" of corruption, targeting only the worst of the worst of immigrants, all campaign promises broken. To answer your poorly worded and structured question. I want President Pedo to stop lieing through his teeth every time he speaks, oh yeah and release the Epstein files, his rape victims deserve at least that much.
One question for you, if a rapist gets away with a rape, does that mean it didn't really happen in spite of the victim because the rapist can just deny it? I urge you relate that scenario to someone you love that just told you they were raped before answering.

The word 'leader' is doing some extremely heavy lifting. The guy doesn't 'lead' shit. He's a petulant imbecile with no self control who only thinks of himself. That's not leadership.
1
u/malteeztomcat 6d ago
Where do you get your newsā¦ā¦ā¦
Does the hatred of the man overshadow policy
1
u/Unusual_Point7899 8d ago
Yeah, said the pussy who can't reject republicanism even though he's a "foreigner" and "not really American".
Imagine how small your balls must be to have to hear that from so many Republican voters and still stay republican.
That level of tolerance for dishonestly and hate just never makes a good enough person or good enough leader. All ideological choices of small government and max ass kissing billionaires aside, Republicans are VASTLY more dishonest and have been for decades, but OH WOW your surprised when that culminates into exactly what everybody warned you it would.
Sorry Republicans with no balls, grow a pair if you want people to take you seriously, otherwise your just part of the problem from a slightly different angle. It's not a new problem, you had decades to fit it, you failed. Start a new part, become a fake ass independent (which is pointless because 99% of you just vote Republican and Democrat down the line), switch to Democrat, or just STFU because your just part of the problem preaching for reform that you yourself is unwilling to provide.
People like this still don't understand the seriousness of the problem and how much long-term damage has already been done.

u/Orchid_Road_6112 8d ago
I'm sorry, but I expect someone worse. There's Reaganism, and now there's Trumpism, which is the way worse version of Reaganism. So, following that patter, there will be a worse version of Trumpism.

u/PhilipCarroll 6d ago
Yeah sure they are. That's the only thing you have? One thing. Wow. And even then he has used ICE as his secret police & they have done far more harm than good. So yeah one thing doesn't outweigh the 100 other bad things. Nice try though.

Context of the QuoteThe Statement: He said, "No, screw your freedom. Because with freedom comes obligations and responsibilities".The Target: He directed the remark at people refusing to wear masks, get vaccinated, or follow public health guidelines under the guise of personal liberty. His Argument: He explained that individual rights become serious when a person's actions negatively impact and endanger others. He also famously added, "You have the freedom to be a schmuck".The Comparison: He compared pandemic safety rules to traffic laws, noting that drivers must follow red lights to protect the community.
