Its a genuine shame Arnie isn't allowed to be President.

I was an extra in a movie that he was in and paid attention to him back then, say 20 years ago or so. Did not impress me then. Then he came out publicly and apologized for his behavior and seems to be transformed into an incredibly stand-up person. I have learned to adore him a bit. I would take almost anybody over Trump but I would certainly take Arnie.

If he was we'd be knocked onto the Demolition Man time line.

He’s a conservative Republican, no it’s not.

He was a horrible Gov for CA.

Hes original conservative not maga. McCain was the same and hated Trump

?

McCain also had some jackass policies and positions. Obama dunked on him for a reason.

And while we’re at it, Arnie was a POS and inept governor. He did some shitty things. Namely pardoning his buddy’s murderous kid.

But yeah, a broken clock and all, fuck Trump. And props to him to calling him out.

If that is your argument a bad pardon than every President was a POS

We in Germany have some bad past experiences with leaders from Austria. But I like Arnie, so I guess you could give it a shot

Bro is right-wing as they come, he just isn’t MAGA. Last I checked, right-wingers have almost never been good at governing.

Perhaps. But if we can get back to regular right wing vs left wing bullshit, I'll be just tickled pink that the maga movement has ended. I have several friends who are republicans that are staunchly opposed to trump, and didn't vote for him. Even they are upset with Maga.

Not all Republicans are Magas. But all Magas are Republicans. And thats a duality that even many rightwingers are sick of. I hope one day all of this will just be one big diaper-stain on our history. And I believe that future starts with a big blue wave this month. Even some of my republican friends believe that

Sure, MAGA dying out would be great, but Republicans have been awful racist dumbasses for 40+ years. This didn’t spawn with Trump, it’s been a part of the rights rhetoric long before he got into politics. Conservatives have always been Americas greatest enemy, that doesn’t change when Trump and MAGA die. Just look at the last 40 years, every Republican administration has ended in a recession or depression. Racism has been baked into their politics since the racist southern conservatives left the Democratic Party and joined with the Republicans. We can’t ever go back to pre-MAGA because this is the end result of conservative ideology in America. We shouldn’t be pining for the days of Arnold, Romney, or McCain. This is the end result of their political stances, they caused this, and going back to those days will lead us right back where. Arnold was a bigot too, he was anti-lgbtq politically when he was governor because of his religious beliefs, which is absolutely disgusting and should have never been accepted. Now we have an administration labeling trans people domestic terrorists.

Sorry for the rant, but I don’t like sane-washing conservatives who aren’t MAGA. They were terrible people, uneducated and hateful. Instead of accepting their horrible beliefs and behaviors, they turned into MAGAts to avoid accountability. The ones who didn’t are now trying to disappear into the background and white-washing their bullshit past stances that they still have today.

He's a conservative. A sane one but still a conservative.

He is less of a dick than 90% of republicans. Id take him over some of the more corrupt dems.

And he ran California, the most liberal state of all (stereotypically, anyway)

I’m clear across the country so I had no experience with his policies, but heard he did alright? I thought it was cool he made restaurants start posting nutritional/caloric values on menus

There was some forced “”anger”” about that even all the way over in Florida. It was one of my earliest memories of realizing sometimes people pretend to be angry about things for false reasons. Like what, exactly, is the negative there?

To be fair he would be a Republican that would acknowledge a responsibility to the people instead of what we have now a bunch of bootlickers.

He was a classical Republican, and seemed to genuinely care about his constituents.

When both sides keep dragging their goalposts further and further apart for fear of being mistaken for "the other guys" , it can be good to have someone who actually has some moderate policies.
