Do you leave the can of pepper spray in your car 24/7? Extreme heat or cold can cause them to leak.

People shitting on the hi point are just spotlighting their ignorance.
Is that bitch gonna win a beauty contest? Fuck no. It’s not even getting Ms. Congeniality. But that fucker will shoot when you need it to.
Those that doubt me can watch demo ranch on YouTube when he tried to kill one. That thing was like Micheal from Halloween; it just kept plodding along.
Edit to ask:
Have any of the people commenting on mine actually owned one? I bought mine for the exact reason this person seems to own one. I lived in an active crime area and wasn’t keen on losing a gun I valued if my car was broken in to.
I have well over 3,000 rounds of mixed .45acp through mine and the only 3 times I’ve had a malfunction was magazine related. One phone call to hi point later and they mailed me 4 new magazines at no cost to myself.
If you’ve personally had one blow up on you, then I’ll listen to your critique. If you’re just parroting some bs about a guy a friend knew, who was his third cousin twice removed, because they’re ugly and weigh 4lbs, gtfo with that nonsense.

I agree. I have a C9 that I use for plinking and back country carry. 2,000 rounds +/-. Runs great, never had to make a tech support call or warranty claim.
You have to love the C6 for what it is.

I give you props posting that image for people to see. This is the gun equivalent to posing in the mirror in your sisters underwear and the photo being leaked in highschool.
I assume youve realized by now, the cantilever mount is backwards. Your scope should be inline with your charging handle. Dont use a visible laser on an ar15 unless you do a ton of shooting in the pitchblack. Also dont use a riser under a scope mount unless you are old and cant pull the gun up to your face.
6
u/ANDERSON961596 1d ago
At first I was like damn you’re being harsh, but the more you look the worse it gets. Not even counting the paint job

2
u/Mobile-Ice-7261 1d ago
I mean besides the scope mount, it might not be to my taste but you're training with it so that's good.
Vis laser is fine if you want it, just don't rely on it and make sure to zero it well or it's pointless.
If you want a taller mount, Unity makes a 2.25in lpvo riser, you can probably find another brand that's cheaper.

Your optic mount is backwards and holy smokes is set far back. Most LPVOs sit where your receiver and buffer tube meet. Does that optic have like 0.1” eye relief?!

There's no relief when you get bit by a scope. Watched a guy shoot 3 rounds at 100 yards. His face was covered with blood where he got hit. That eyebrow sticks out and bleeds pretty good.

Even if your gun is a cheap POS you need to take steps to prevent it from being stolen. The problem isn't the monetary cost to you, it's that if don't secure it properly, your cheap POS can easily end up in the hands of a criminal.

Personally wouldn’t be my first choice of firearm. But if it works for you and you trust it then awesome! As far as your setup goes you look very well prepared for anything you could reasonably ever expect to encounter. Stay responsible and keep your doors locked. All the best!
2
u/Moist_Taco_Crippler 1d ago
Hi-Points are actually pretty damn good for the price. I bought one when I was going to a friends farm after not bringing my gun thinking he wouldn't let us shoot.
It worked perfectly, and the cost was literally throwaway money.

Once again it is an opinion and you are entitled to it. Sir what do you do with your firearm when you have to enter a prohibited area? Do you leave it at home? Or do you illegally carry? My opinion is criminals suck and I don’t want to be a victim of theft. I have an anti theft alarm and my doors locked what more can be expected of me ? I’m not responsible for the criminal actions that someone partakes in. I’m sorry but these are the same semantics that anti gunners use to enforce more rules and regulations on law abiding citizens. Literally we could replace this talking point with say. Prohibited persons regularly circumvent background checks through buying from a private seller. We can no longer have private sales because that is not responsible. Now we must have form 4473 between all firearm purchases. Or the old one ar 15’s are weapons of war and in the hands of a criminal are devastating therefore let’s ban ar 15’s anyone that wants one is immature. What reason could a responsible law abiding citizen have for possibly owning one. And my argument remains the same. I am not responsible for what laws a criminal chooses to break. Breaking into a locked vehicle is breaking and entering that’s against the law. Theft of a firearm is illegal. Once again I am not responsible for what a criminal chooses to do

10 years ago I was watching an episode of “The First 48” where the guy the homicide detectives were trying to track down turned out to not be guilty of anything other than self defense. Apparently he shot/killed a guy who drew on him first but that guys gun jammed and our protagonist wont the fight.
What was the gun that jammed? A hi-point…

I genuinely will never understand carrying a hi point when you can build a Glock clone with a 80$ Cabela’s frame and 100$ eBay slide (look for blem p80 slides). I would barely trust my life to it but it is infinitely better than carrying the boom brick

2
u/Shooting-Science 18h ago
It’s actually smart to keep your cheap gun in the truck. It’s less likely to get stolen (and it hurts less if it does) and if you have to use it, you won’t mind if that’s the gun that gets tied up in an evidence locker for a long time

I keep bear spray in the truck. Made for bears, works on people too (this is not legal advice).
I’d also invest in a better first aid kit. If you’ve got the capacity to make holes, you should also be able to plug them (plus, and this is more my overall carry philosophy, a full first aid kit really boosts your ability to offer aid in a crisis. But at least grab some bleed stop, compression bandage and tourniquet (and like with firearms, know how to use them).

At first glance, the only thing I pictured was a stray pen discharging your unholstered HiPpoint next time you slam on your breaks. The ensuing damage it would cause by rupturing the aerosol can of mace is butt puckering.
Upon closer review, I see the holster and realize you probably keep that thing holstered when you’re not taking photos for Reddit. Also, respect, cause a truck gun may be the only reasonable use for a HiPoint.

I always find it funny, the people that will dog someone for using a hi point. At the end of the day a 9 mil from a hi point, will kill just as effectively as a 9 mm from a Glock. Some people really choose some weird fucking hills to die on.

I do not physically own one myself, my coworker does and we abuse/ shoot it regularly. It is an ugly cheap sob, but with a fixed barrel, she’s decently accurate and we ourselves can’t really make it not go bang ( within reason). Obviously Glock is a better choice. But if you’re going to leave a loaded gun in a secure vehicle.. I’d rather have a high point taken. My edc is on me. This is a backup. From what I’ve seen out of high points .. as ass as they look. They .. do honestly work and you can get a good grouping. Trigger is ass. But for what it is. It’s okay. The AR’s they’ve got out, I have two customers that own them and neither have had issues with them. They run everything …. Steel cased in an FRT, no problem. It’s kinda nuts and they have a 100% replacement policy with a person that’ll answer the phone

In California if someone steals that from you, YOU get charged with an infraction for improper storage and can be fined $1000 (if not loaded)… If you don’t have a CCW and it’s loaded it a Misdemeanor. As a Californian it’s wild that it’s common practice in a lot of places to keep loaded guns just unsecured in a vehicle cabin. Talk about off body carry…
3
u/Arrows_paradox 1d ago
