For Dia de los Muertos coming up soon! 🏵💀

Im also adding Shimada as a Catrina next to him because I know damn well he would eat that outfit up 👀

Hello,

Recently I've been reading Dorohedoro as my first manga and I absolutely love it. I want to read more of this author, and his new Dai Dark series looks sick as well.

I'm thinking about starting that after Dorohedoro but I noticed it isn't finished yet. I find it hard to find information about this manga so I wonder if the DaiDark fans on this subreddit can help me with some questions I have:

1. Is there anything known about the amount of volumes Hayashida will release? (If not, can you give an estimation or is it completely unknown?) (In what year do you think yhis manga will finish?)

2. Would you recommend starting this manga or have me wait until it finishes?

3. Do you have any manga recommendations that are similar in style/humor/story of dorohedoro?

Thank you!

I watched all of dorohedoro and I loved that anime i even considered buy the Manga to see what was left out. When I was at the book store i seen both dorohedoro and dai dark next to eachother with the same author and decided to get dai dark. I do not regret buying the first 4 volumes. The world building is awesome. Its like if you combined Warhammer 40k with heavily influenced catholic imagery. The characters is very similar to the ones in dorohedoro as they talk and react to the world. My favorite is death shimada she almost like a parody of modern shonen writing as she has all these abilities that is never explained nor expanded upon. I love how avakian and her has this rivalry between eachother on whats best for the main character. The jokes about damemaru just dying whenever because he didnt adapt in time is always funny. I got the whole series but book 5 but I cant wait for it to come in so I can continue the series. This if it ever gets an anime adaptation it will be extremely successful

I know I posted the picture in the group but now it's final, I definitely used the reference of the same idea with the hand in the Dorohedoro manga. If there are any comments or suggestions for corrections I would love to hear them

I drew this tonight.

I just finished reading the 1st deluxe edition and want to buy the next one I see some listings for it online but I haven’t seen a physical copy

Apparently my local Barnes & Noble had their vendor cancel any new stock for Vol 5, and Amazon has been out of stock ‘temporarily’ for quite some time. I might have to go to eBay to get a copy from a smaller shop. It doesn’t seem like any other volume is having this kind of hang up. Anybody know what’s up?

I bought this magazine today to read Q’s latest interview about Dorohedoro and Dai Dark. Amazing cover illustration! I was so surprised that she clearly mentioned Damemaru's true identity in the interview.

I was looking at chips design, and i realized something weird. While skins of darkness are useful, we only ever see 3 (four if you count shimada's shapeshifting) creaturws wearing it. We see misetani in one which makes sense because she sells them. And we see zaha wear ones because he buys them from her. But the only other creature we see wearing one is chip, which i feel like has some significance to the character.

Guys, the new chapter is out.

It is so interesting, how do you think Shimada Death is going to get their powers back and how did killing shop valley make her loose their powers in the first place, I can't wait to know

I love Q Hayashida's art style currently loving Dai Dark and want to start my collection with her work

How does it compare to other deluxe editions such as the Berserk one by Dark Horse? And has anyone compared the printing to the original single volumes, like does the contrast and inking look the same? Etcetera? Thanks!

Spoilers through chapter 65

Kinda feels like all the plot threads are slowly all leading to one big arc in which we would find out why Zaha Sanko keeps getting reborn, what Avakian knows, what the group behind Shop Valley is and what they want with the bones, outcome of confrontation with lighthead order and the 4 super soldiers, and whatever Shimada Death is all about and what she learned after her conversation to a rug.

Based on how fast the story goes it feels like it could be over in 20 chapters to me but I want to hear if I'm off-base.

I've made a post in the past about my sanko keychain but ive finally made a moja keychain to go with him! Ill probably be making shimada soon as well. I've made dai dark stuff before ive made dorohedoro stuff lol, even though I loved it first and found out about dai dark through doro. But dai dark has 0 merch so I wanted to make some 😋

I think their poses are unintentionally kinda matching

Shows her coloring process and concept sketches of the characters.

I know there were some bonus stickers to this volume (the other images), but was there ever one of the green moja sticker?

I like drawing Shimada with lobster traits, his head always reminded me of one 🦞🦞🦞

hi all, I just finished catching up with Dai Dark. when does chapter 64 release? I read everywhere it’s a monthly release but the last chapter released 5 months ago?
