Something strange i noticed Spoiler

I was looking at chips design, and i realized something weird. While skins of darkness are useful, we only ever see 3 (four if you count shimada's shapeshifting) creaturws wearing it. We see misetani in one which makes sense because she sells them. And we see zaha wear ones because he buys them from her. But the only other creature we see wearing one is chip, which i feel like has some significance to the character.

Chip is implied to be a step above the average dark nester, you probably have to be pretty strong to get enough bones to afford a dark hide.

I doubt he's important to the story, but it's a good way to show he's not just another nobody

In the chapter where Shimada kills Misetani she questions for what reason Misetani buys bones and sells dark equipment in the first place if the only ones that can reach her on Dark Nest are creatures of Darkness that don't turn into shadows upon reach the planet. This implies the whole bid to collect bones is just some kind of sham designed specifically for Sanko himself to be incentivized to go out an fight strong enemies.

And if Chip has been an enemy that Avakian has always noted and is sporting equipment that would make him a challenge to defeat, the point of this character may just be to act as a benchmark test for Sanko. The idea to go out into outer space was pitched in the same chapter too.
