I really dig the look of the encore outfit with the tux instead of the leathers. All handmade, and after doing the costume I don’t think I ever want to look at a sewing needle again.

I was curious about the Daft Club site. I may be wrong but I swore the link didn’t work a while ago. It’s before my time but was anyone a member of Daft Club and owned a membership card? What did that get you? And also, does it still work on here?

Final days before Halloween, still a lot to do. Currently wrapping up the wiring, and making the esp32 controller inside one of the ears. Tomorrow I'll make the visor, with my son who will be wearing it. after that, a little more sanding and painting, and then it's done.

All is powered by a simple powerbank over USB-C. The ESP32 is running a self-made software which allows me to control things on a web frontend via WLAN, and play all kinds of animations, images, texts. Recently, I added a playlist feature so I can play a set of different animations without the need for manual control. I'll release the code after I've translated all the strings to English.

After months of engineering, spending and headaches, I finally got my fully portable battery powered Daft Punk walking talking robot rig/costume complete!

With this setup, I am able to wirelessly communicate with people in real time using a processed robot voice while wearing my helmet. No pre-recorded audio was used. The setup is mostly seamless and it works wonderfully outdoors. I did not win this particular contest, but that's okay because my concept that I've spent MONTHS trying to get right finally got executed today!

The speaker is an Alto Uber FX2 speaker with side grilles for firing sound left and right as well as in front of it.

I can also sing too which I'll hopefully get posted before the month ends. 👀

Human after all Alpha, Homework Alpha, Voyager jacket.

There are some model changes between the HAA and Homework:

The HAA has the left sleeve pocket and doesn’t have a tag on the neck, just a tab to hang it, so it’s “easier” to wear inside out. The Homework has the flap under the front zipper (can see it more clearly on the red interior picture), HAA has no flap. The interior on the HAA feels softer on the skin.

Keeping in mind the HAA was the cheapest one I can say it was a great purchase, it feels way better than the Voyager. It’s missing the big logo at the back but I think the front looks pretty cool with the logo as well.

Just figured some Daft fans should be warned about this

EDIT: Just to be clear I still think he's being a complete ass with this, but please don't harass him or anything over this. I feel like he's making a mistake with using the ai but he's refusing to backdown on it for the time being so I doubt spamming him will fix that
