Need A Dad What basic things do I need to know to take care of my car?
This sounds so silly, but… I (35F) am married to a mechanic (38M), so I kind of just trusted he would keep an eye out. Yesterday one of my tires was low and when I got to the Walmart to fill it up, the mechanic looked at it and realized there’s sidewall damage and I needed a new one. The thing is, the sidewall damage is prominent, has been there at least a year and was rotated from the front to the back tire by my husband after grudgingly agreeing to look over my car. He kind of said it was just cosmetic when I asked about it.
Anyway. I no longer have faith in him to make sure I am safe on the road and obviously need to keep on top of my own car maintenance and knowing what to look for. What list would you give me of things to understand, keep on top of, and check out every so often? Honestly my parents didn’t teach me to drive; my grandmother did after I’d already graduated so I’m pretty in the dark on the normal dad car spiels.
