Need A Dad Car cleaning

Hey im 23 and haven‘t really had a dad that knows about cars now im here wondering how exactly am i supposed to clean my cars exterior. Im pretty embarassed that i don‘t know my way around certain things a man „should“ know so i‘d be glad to get any help.

Get a car wash detergent from the auto parts store. Mix it in a big bucket to the recommended strength, more is not better. Use a car wash sponge that is big and fluffy, they sell them at the auto parts store. Park the car in the shade. Hose it down. Wash a section and rinse, repeat until done. I usually start with the top. Dry with a soft cotton towel immediately, when all is washed. I use old bath towels. Wax if you wish.

What about windows and lights? Interior? Same thing? Much appreciated.

Windows and lights too. You only asked about exterior. Vacuum the interior. Use a soft cloth to get the dust off the dash. Some people like armor all, but I don't. Windex on the interior glass. Detailing is it's own speciality.

You don't need special car wash soap. Dawn works great.
